The church I attend had a card shower for all of us on the worship team. It was really nice and appreciated by everyone,
Hand written notes in the mail make us feel 100 times better than a text!
I appreciate worship teams but these songs don’t do it as well as a hymn book, a piano or organ and someone at the pulpit conducting. This way you get a a nice reparatore and no one has to try so hard to move people. Let the hymns do that.

I am not a WL but enjoy your videos, though I have filled in that spot on occasion. I've also been on 6-7 worship teams over the years. Solid PREP is a big factor too. I therefore disagree on ONE point you made, almost as an aside. You were talking about what would be in Planning Center, and you said, "the song sheet preferably with the chords you were going to play in that Sunday, BUT NOT necessarily. Sorry, I DO think that's necessary. To me, it's essential to have the correct key and chords ahead of time. I left one team over that issue. First of all, the team got the 4th and LAST song for that coming Sunday sent to us on Friday afternoon in the key of B. That in itself was poor, since then it was assumed that you'd have time to go over the song "over the weekend", and this happened EVERY FRI. I was on EG that week, so a lot of fills and riffs. THEN I decided to go back in and go over that one song again on SAT, and Lo and Behold, NOW it's in the key of E. And THEN, on Sunday, during the practice before the service when we got to that last song said, "oh, now we're gonna do this song in F!" I said, no, I'm not. it was my last time on the team. Worse part, was that the WL that week was the ONLY person singing all 4 songs and apparently was not able to determine what key it'd be in solidly. This is GOOD for WL's to understand. I heard this said once----and I've used it as it does not only fit worship team members, but any church volunteer-----"don't treat your volunteers like employees, or you won't have them long".
