Rachel, I am touched that you enjoy the things you are creating for your birds there, and it sounds like they love it. Please keep a positive attitude as much as you can, think about your boys, and fight to get better and enjoy each day one at a time. I have more fountains and feeders and fun coming, and I want to hear something positive from you, if possible. Of course, I have no idea what illness you have. But I sent tons of prayers and love your way for you and your boys. Please take care ❤️🙏❤️ I will be waiting for any message from you❤️❤️❤️

Soldering irons, are so cheap, check out a harbor freight and if not try to go to Walmart or a target, look in their tool section they should be under $10.

I've learned so much about the birds from Robbie just today. This morning a bird I've never seen called a 'cut throat' & little female came & snacked. The more cool things you make the more cool birds come to visit. Word travels fast. LOL Thank you Robbie and Gary. Robbie I made two of them. I don’t know if you see my message before I might’ve put it on a different site with your name on it. They’re coming to it and it’s so funny. The doves and the blackbirds cannot figure out the Sam hill to get in there they’re trying to hang on and eat upside down and they can’t. They’re falling off for their fluttering off. It’s pretty comical. The squirrels haven’t bothered it at all, but I give them whole apples every couple of days so they’re pretty well happy but thank you and I do all of your wonderful hummingbird ideas. I’ve got the eggs. I gotta get that started next, live in Mount Vernon, Indiana and we’re pretty close to Kentucky. We’re at Ohio rivers right next to me so we could pretty much all the birds kinda halfway when they’re taking a rest stop but thank you.

Thank you Robbie, for that little side comment about a hummingbird can sit on a zip tie. I bought those Dollar Tree feeders and they don't have perches. Now I know I can just attach the zip ties to the bottom of the feeder below each port to give them a perch. You solved a problem for me as far as wondering what I could use. Thanks again for all your wonderful videos.

I love this idea! The wire baskets definitely solve the problem with larger birds bullying the smaller birds. My only concern are the plastic dishes that hold the food. I bought some mesh screen rolls that are used in screen windows and I plan to put together a small wood frame with a mesh bottom to allow any water to drain out of the food to prevent any mold from developing in the food. Thanks for sharing this great idea!

I love this. I live in a tiny town in NW PA, deep in the country, and I have an area across the road form my house where I want to plant some flowers for birds, butterflies and bees. My uncle had built this area up, years ago, it used to be a slight angle, and now it is flat land over there. He was making a garden elsewhere, and I think when he had the topsoil brought in, he took some of the dirt he had removed (we have clay dirt around here) and put it over there. There are some areas that are clay as well as areas that have this rich black loose soil, but, to my surprise, there isn’t any worms in some of those areas. Not even one, and I dug down quite far, because it was overgrown with weeds the last few years, so I figured there might be some sort of life…but there weren’t any. I have never seen that before, out here. There were two factories, with one being right behind this plot of land, the remnants are still there, a pile of bricks, and one is about fifty feet away, the train tracks went right through what is now my front yard. So, I am sort of afraid to plant veggies there, because they were a chemical plant and I have no idea what is over there, I want to get a testing kit to check the soil around here. Those chemical plants have been gone for at least 100 years, but I have no idea what type of chemicals were used there. I was just surprised there were no worms in that dirt, but a few feet away, where there is some of the clay dirt, there are worms. I put some dead leaves and weeds and some green leaves into the soil I dug up, just to see if any worms will be there, in a few weeks. I get surgery on my foot, in two days, on Monday, and I won’t be able to garden for a couple weeks, anyway, but I will prepare some other things while I wait. Maybe do some sort of seeds, but I know it’s getting a bit late for that, too. Thanks Robbie.

That’s a wonderful & efficient feeder. One negative that caught my eye are the sharp cut ends of the zip ties on the up side of the feeder where the birds could walk on them & be injured. Really nice feeder idea. Thanks Many blessings

Really like this feeder. What's nice is there's so much room for quite a few birds at once. Regular feeders only have so many perches and holes. I think I might try one of those sand sifter bowls/dishes you get in a child's sand/beach set. It has the holes in it and often can be found at dollar stores. They usually come with a little bucket and shovel which can be used for other things, like water fountains.

My problem is sparrows pushing out the doves & jays. The sparrows devour almost everything before other birds can even think about getting even a few seeds. If I use hanging feeders, the sparrows mob them & don’t let other birds eat. Lately, I started putting seed in approximately eight inch rows with a foot or so in between on the ground which helps the doves eat before the sparrows realize the food is there. Do you have any helpful strategies?? I would like to feed more than sparrows. Thanks so much. Many blessings

I use the $5 feeders that you can one get at Walmart. Some I have 30 plus years. I like them because they are easy to clean, at least twice a year I put them in the dishwasher with the heat dry cycle turned off. In the fall I wash them with a bleach solution when ready to store them for winter. Just freshen in the dishwasher in the spring. I wish I could get those feeders somewhere other than Walmart.
This spring I received a pyramid feeders. The hummingbirds will not use it, they will look at it and go to a different feeders. I have moved it away from the other feeders, no luck, I have put it next to other feeders, no luck. Even next to empty feeders with it the only one filled, no luck there either.
If the bird would like it, it is really easy to clean but would need to be filled frequently. Has anyone had any luck use that type of feeders.

I am so disappointed! I don't know if the squirrels in Southern California are just bigger than the squirrels in East Texas, but the squirrels in my yard (and there are literally hundreds of them) have no problem getting into these bird feeders - made from the exact same wire baskets, ties, clippies, everything just like in the video 😢. First they eat all the food that I put out for them in their own unobstructed feeders , then they devastate the bird feeders. I looked up online and found out they only need an inch to inch and a half opening to get through. They're really cool bird feeders. I made five of them. But I won't be able to use them any differently than any of the others have tried. I can only put bird seed out when I'm going to be in the yard to the can scare the squirrels away as I'm working. Otherwise the birds don't get anything.
