I can't get over the people who think Vanessa and Dorian have no chemistry!! Do you people have eyes? Their chemistry jumps off the screen. I felt the first time they met. And who ever said he's ugly definitely needs their eyes checked.

He's not ugly by any means, he just looks so young..but i think in the book he was 20 and then stopped outwardly aging so at least it fits the story.

Eva Green and Reeve Carney have such dramatic and intimate on screen chemistry together! Season finale is going to be an amazingly shocking one. Hope Dorian Gray will have a bigger role in season 2. So much more about his character yet to be revealed. Something tells me it is not going to be officially over for these two.

Why are people debating Vanessa/Ethan vs. Vanessa/Dorian? Clearly Ethan/Dorian is where it's at....
Ethan/Dorian would be cute although their relationship is confusing and was totally unexpected I believe Ethan/Brona is where it's at. However in an interview with Reeve Carney it states:
"What will we see in terms of Dorian and Ethan moving forward since we didn’t see them together much in this past episode."
RC: "You’ll definitely see more of it and we’re obviously nearing the end of this particular installment of the series and I’m excited to see what’s happens next year. But. yeah, things will be explained a little bit more. Dorian and Ethan have some sort of connection and I’d like to see how it develops and changes."
So maybe Ethan/Dorian may work out??? Who knows?

Personally I love Dorian Gray and I honestly see Reeve Carney as an amazing actor, he's committed to his characters and often performs his own stunts. 'Poor Dorian' he looks so lost! Hopefully we'll get some more of these two!

Omg, the first time they meet has to be one of my favourite scenes of all time! It was so romantic, i fucking loved it. Dorian gray is a sexy mother fucker and Vanessa as well, they're compatible okay, they're like peanut butter and jelly. A great combination.

i think the “it’s rejection” line is particularly cruel after she earlier tells him he has to “risk rejection” when he asks to kiss her neck.

Vanessa and Dorian have killer chemistry sexy dynamic and riveting feels. They should END UP TOGETHER. NO ETHAN AND VANESSA, because there is no magnetism there. And be Boring as Hell. I swear if they go the predictable route with Ethan and Vanessa I will drop this show. Penny Dreadful should stay on the format of strangely unusual and gothic.

aha, when she said that at the end I went 'Oh, Snap!' xD But, srly, I don't think they are right for each other and I don't think they have chemistry (like other people have mentioned) Besides that, isn't Dorian Gray supposed to be the vain guy. He's charming but, ultimately selfish. Vanessa doesn't need another man like that in her life.

I have also, wondered why, several episodes back, when Sir Malcolm asked if they were all "in" with the group, why did Ethan look at Vanessa and say "I'm with you." Also, what did the card he picked in ep.1 mean? Do they have some kind of unspoken bond or something?Does he feel a need to protect her like he did Brona? (and I don't mean this in a 'shippy" way.) Idk, maybe it will all be revealed later. But Ethan got a whole lot more interesting in this latest ep!

Anyway, about the card, in Tarot, "The Lovers" means decision, a choice to be make. However I'm not sure if PD wanted to use the loves as sth like "he'll fall in love" which was what happened right after.

I really hope they do something more interesting with Dorian Gray's character this coming season. He was almost painfully cliché and boring for the first season, and that made it so implausible that Vanessa should fall for him - I mean, seriously, talk about outclassed.
Only thing i dont like is his hair lol
