Jerry Doyle was an incredibly intelligent man. He achieved so much in his life. It was so tragic that it was blighted by alcohol and led to him passing too soon. Rest in peace Jerry.
Not really, here he displays the PO principles of Jean Jacques Rousseau. why like him, thought people were good in the natural state but could not even stand his own children so he abandoned them in the streets to fend for themselves. So many things came fun that philosopher, existentialism, Nazism, Marxism and neo Gramcianism with the WEF and great reset
I grew up watching Babylon 5 and Garibaldi was my favorite character. I really looked up to him and in turn, looked up to Jerry Doyle and came to admire him even more than his character. He was an outstanding actor and if these interviews are any indication, a wonderful and caring human being. I can only hope to be half the man he was. I raise my glass to you, Sir. Rest in Peace and Godspeed.
He thought he sucked on B5. I thought he was good, and he made it look easy. His chops weren't quite up there with Katsulas, who was a monster actor, but Doyle knew where to stand and where to look and how to get his lines across to the camera, and if you think that's easy, try it. Or watch some of the non actors they'd have on B5 occasionally. If you're Straczynski, shooting this half-budget show in a disused hot tub factory in the Valley, you feel very lucky to have Jerry Doyle. RIP.

I am 49 years old and somehow in the course of working and living I missed Jerry Doyle and Babylon 5 completely until about 2 years ago and now that both are gone with no present or future prospects foreseeable, I am saddened by the loss but am sort of grateful because both are more valuable now than ever and definitely more appreciated and cherished by me now than I would have if I were to have watched it all as it played out in real time when it was a "fad" and popular. Viewing the show and Jerry's work in news is a guilty pleasure now, an adrenaline rush like sipping from an expensive aged wine in someone else's wine cellar without permission or something.
I feel sad I use to listen to him every night then my local radio station dropped him. for a few months I listened online but it became a pain in the ass and so I stopped. I always thought in the back of my head that one of the stations around here would pick him up again and so I moved on and a year later he's dead. RIP Garibaldi B5 was a great show and you were a great character
Prophetic. Very sad news if you're a Babylon 5 fan. if you were/are a fan then you'd know that the show has lost many of it's cast members, it's been talked about many times at their conventions (check more TH-cam if interested) and now, again we lost another. He was a rascal alright, gone too soon.
Babylon 5 have lost a considerable amount of cast over the years (over 6 i do believe?), agreed with you on what you've said and stated. i'll always love my; Star Trek and Star Wars, but B5 always had a special place in my heart and always will. My friend told me somebody from B5 passed away, and i said NO, not again??! From the way he described it, he said somebody with a reseeding 'hairline' i kinda thought for a moment what; Peter Jurasik possibly? No death for this wonderful cast is excepted cos we liked them so much from the show. So sorry to hear of his passing. And from the bottom of my heart, i so wish the rest of the B5 cast much longer lives. don't want to seriously hear of another passing of one of them for God knows how long.
Thank you. I was shocked to hear of Doyle's death, much to my regret, I had no idea he had a radio show. I definitely would have tuned in to hear him. Yes I too am a Star Trek fan, I grew up with the original Star Trek reruns as a young child, so I love all things Trek. I like Star Wars and most other good sci-fi, (I'm liking 'Killjoys' at the moment), but as you said, B5 was special, people that prefer Deep Space 9 as their favorite ST series, owe a debt of gratitude to Babylon 5 and it's long story arcs as compared to Trek's usual self contained story episodes (which, as you know, was the norm for most television series regardless of genre).
Fear not my friend. AI and audiovideo processing will make it posiblle to revive every character in previous shows. Just write script and create new episodes:) You will see
Prophetic indeed. Like the whole series in some kind. And allthough it is really sad to loose these actors. We have to remind ourself's that the reason to mourn them is a reason of joy, they created this fantastic series, which immortalized them in some form. So thank you and good bye.
Garibaldi was my favorite character in the series. He went through some real shit and tried to help his friends out when he could. He fell on hard times but got back on the wagon and ended up better off arguably than everybody else in the show by the time it was over with. He will be missed.
Wow, how amazingly accurate and relevant was that assessment of our situation given the insanity that's currently going on? Prescient words to live by.
Mad respect, so sad hearing of his passing. Another B5 legend gone, and political fixture in recent years. R.I.P. Nice to see him here along with his fellow Babylon 5 co-stars, which is now tragically his last formal interview.
I don’t usually agree with Republican podcasters, but Jerry Doyle was a notable exception; he not only pinpointed problems with the American political system but also provided concrete and workable solutions that could be implemented now (especially in 2021 as I write this. Wish we had more men of honesty, plain talk and wisdom like Jerry Doyle.
Jerry Doyle is a man who will be missed. Rest in peace sir. I do hope someday that Earth will be a place that loves its neighbor. I can't wait to shake your hand and tell you how much I appreciated your work in Heaven :)
Repeating myself here.. Jerry's passing.. A terrible loss and shock. They all were ( B5-wise ).. Rick Biggs.. Andy.. All of them.. But this... Jerry? Idk... I remember his words from the last cast reunion panel where he spoke about his collapse 3 years ago.. And how important it is to live the life while we're able to and all that.. I'm sure all you 5ers recall.. Who would've known that was kindo of an epitaph ... Terrible loss... Sleep in light, Jerry... You left a mark in so many hearts and minds.
I wish I could've personally thanked you Jerry for your efforts to restore the Republic, common sense, and freedom...you lived and shared the truth of your convictions. …..and thanks for your contribution to the best Sci Fi story arc in TV history. ;-) I miss you brother.
I liked him as Garibaldi, and B5 in general. The whole show and cast were great. I don't totally agree with what he said about government, but the idea he talks about is important to note. The problem, which he didn't bring up, is that the politicians (thus government) are not there to serve the people/constituents. They are there to serve themselves and their donors interests. That is the real problem, we don't have a government of the people for the people by the people. Thus you have the last 40-50 years in the U.S. Get money out of politics (public financing of elections, no PAC's, no lobbying, no dark money) and put in term limits for everyone in Congress (House - 4 terms, Senate - 2 terms) and the SCOTUS (20 years max.) That's my solution to resolving the crap going on. The Founding Fathers wanted people to serve and then go back home to their real jobs/life. They didn't believe in "professional" politicians.
Oh man. I'm re-watching the series now (in season 1 - haven't watched since about 2010, so the news of all the deaths is truly depressing) and I'm just doing a TH-cam and Wiki search of all the characters/actors...and now my favourite actor from B5 has passed away.... damn it. Rest in Peace Jerry.
I believe there was a contract on Jerry. From the attack in Germany to the sudden death here. Yes he drank but was not hospitalized. His forward thinking was going to hurt the power structure if it caught on. He was too honest. Though he needed investors, he told me it was not right for me. He would not take my money.
First David Bowie & Alan Rickmen, then Alan Young, Aaton Yelchin, David Huddleston, & Joen Polito, now Jerry Doyle. 2016 truly is a bad year for movie fans. RIP Garibaldi.
You know, these are three truly beautiful but relatively normal people. I am speaking of their characters, not the mere transient state of their appearance. YET; I wish Claudia hadn't had work done to ruin her face...she was one of the most beautiful women I had encountered, and IMO she still would be had she not added Hollyweird surgery to her face. But she's is STILL a beautiful person, brave enough to face her own demons and try to help others who had those same issues! Jerry speaks truth...politicians are seriously flawed, from any party or perspective! Douglas Adams got it right in the 1970s..... I also don't want to die miserable Jerry! Jerry Doyle gone way to soon RIP.
I'm almost glad he didn't live to see what came next. His politics were pretty lousy but his heart was always in the right place, and I can respect that. The GOP's fall into lawlessness and authoritarianism tarnished the reputations of many well-meaning conservatives who went along with it for the sake of power and an inability to recognize that they were being radicalized. I think it would've happened to him too if he'd lived. Instead he went out on a relatively high note. To use an analogy, it'd be like if JMS had quit B5 at the end of B5 rather than after one season of Crusade at the very end.
@@Aivottaja yes, you're right. I found that out a few months after I posted this when seeing the Chinese connection and the video I heard with the word Epic thinking they meant Epoch since they are both pronounced the same. Thanks for the correction.

Raise your glass to an alcoholic, good job
It's exactly those imperfections that made the show interesting and unique in a good way. Soul of B5 is more human than any other show.
Omg, Patricia must have really been touched by the Vorlons. The woman doesn't age at all!
