It's not tolerance it's Love. It's like saying the Fathers babysit; no they Parent and have just as great a role, and in some ways greater, as the Mother.
Some pride male Dads are more tolerant than others. It depends on personality/disposition, if he has just returned from a long patrol of his territory and really needs to rest, or is injured or hungry. This Dad was actually pretty good with them all things considered. Those cubs are so cute but they bite and pull his skin and claw him a lot! 😊
The Lions social behavior, the love and bond they share in the family as a whole is a beautiful and perfect example of life and how it was was meant to be and should be for every walk of life. That's animal life and humans as well. Thank you for this piece, it was comforting and beautiful. The music was soothing and fit just right. The king of beasts can show us all a thing or two.i

It's Africa...most African lions in zoo were either injured or abandoned as cubs ....most African countries do not have zoos but they have animal orphanages

I wish the author would have given more information. Description says it's not the father, but since he's tolerating the cubs, he may be part of that pride (uncle, brother, cousin). It's very rare for a random lion to allow cubs to live. The lionesses are way too calm and too far away to be overly concerned for the cub's wellbeing. They will take on several males if need be to protect her cubs. They're watching the interaction, but not defensive toward the male. Let's not argue, it's a beautiful video.
@@patrickgragg5602 I can only repeat what I was told by a very experienced Maasai guide who part-owned the conservancy, lived there and followed the pride. He was surprised at what had happened and thought the male would kill the cubs eventually but I do not know the final outcome. What is certain is that he is not their father and that the mother had given him a very hard time when he joined the pride. The father had left although no one knew why.
@@andrewgriffin3555 There have been few cases where the unrelated male lion does not kill the cubs when taking over a pride i.e. Hairybelly and Ginger (Matimba brothers) did not kill the 3 cubs when they took over Othawa pride in 2018. However only 1 cub survived, Junior Othawa (his 2 brothers died from starvation after becoming lost from the pride). Junior Othawa is part of the 3 sub adults on their own since Hairybelly's passing in February this year.

Sometimes Dad doesn’t have the patience with their kids as Mom does but he better WATCHOUT because Mom lioness is closed and she will defend her babies at all costs. Very beautiful lion family, they are very lovely indeed. And the babies behaves like baby lions being playful and so cute 🥰 cutenesses overload. Mum taking a well-earned nap! Dad cub-minding, loses patience with his pesky 'kids', starts snarling, showing teeth! Mum hears all this, saunters over, mildly chides dad, steps between kids and dad, and gently nudges him away! What a wise and fantastic way to handle a situation calmly avoiding aggressive confrontation. Dad needs to get better at baby/cub sitting. Lionesses can be very aggressive with males angrily messing about with their cubs. Everyone happy. Beautiful and better than in some human families!😁👏👍
Aw those brave and rambunctious furball cubs love their dads and he loves them too. Even with the occasional snarl a male lion letting his cubs use him as a play toy and jungle gym shows a lot of patience and caring for such fragile little lions. Lion dad's tolerating and, better yet, even playing back with his litter is always the sweetest thing to watch.

Haha, we always think male lions are grumpy with their kids, but the cubs always seem to be clawing and biting their bodies and pulling on their dad's manes more than their bothering there mothers lol. I mean if I had someone biting, clawing, and pulling my hair, I'd be a little irritated, haha.

No, the father is keeping children out and could be very dangerous for them. You can see a lionness intervening beetwen the father and the child.
