Wakka has dark attack as backup that could have prevented that death. You can swap tidus to slowing steel for stealing after darking and throw a high potion onto mob to keep it alive if needed.
Like how you explain the overdrive rule in the video, yet people still give you flack for it😂, seriously tho I’ve been super impressed at your tenacity and it’s been fun to watch.
So I'm not gunna lie. In every playthrough I've done of ffx I have never in my life seen the octopus here. I always thought the boss at the beginning of the game was the only 1.
Love the vid (as always) and super excited to see the rest of the playthrough! For me, the one I'm looking to most is Biran and Yenke. I've done a few challenge runs of X (not to your insane levels) and always struggle with them, so i'm interested to see whether they will be difficult or just virtually free due to Kimahri having no stats. No spoilers! (I know I could just look it up, but i really do enjoy just seeing things as they crop up) Edit: And you CAN do Celestial Mirror first time at Calm Lands (I always get it before I do the Zero Seconds Chocobo to get Caladbolg there) but you can't fully upgrade anyone's weapon til after you get the Airship
I always thought it was nice of them to only throw the ones who can breathe underwater in the underwater one. That said, the whole underwater breathing thing always confused me. For the most part, it seems to be exclusive to Al Bhed and Blitzball players. So are they born that way and forced into a life of Blitzball, or can it be learned? If it is learned, why doesn't everyone just learn to do it? Seems useful.
I always took it as a form of blue/learned magic like Kimari's overdrives but more in the "almost having to drown a few times to learn" and less "species born ability" since almost every species of npc can play blitzball but only the Ronso have lancet.
They aren't actually breathing underwater they're just able to hold they're breath for a really really long time it's described as something anyone one on Spira is supposed to be able to train themselves to do but it takes a long time so requires dedication. In the short animatic add they put out for 10-2 Yuna said she was up to ten minutes after 2 years of constant practice (and given she grew up with Wakka she probably wasn't starting from zero)
Honestly I wonder who would ever complain that anyone would break the rules of a challenge when the game is literally impossible to progress otherwise.
Capturing - in a casual playthrough you can just keep capturing until it says "capture limit exceeded" - are you going to print out the full capture list so you don't have to do an ounce of work more than you need to?
I’m sure I’m not the only one who noticed you used grand summon and diamond dust against bahamut. Even though the summon was forced, I thought no overdrives still applied? Or all rules off against Isaaru?
according to the rules/challenge walkthrough/faq overdrives are allowed for issaru (it actually just straight up tells you to grand summon shiva and use diamond dust)
@@ChrisKross_24 In my opinion it technically breaks the rules but it still absolutely does not matter since you have access to all the other summons as well so you can't really lose. Ultimately it's just a simple and small time save.
not according to the creator of the challenge its not as his faq straight up tells you to just grand summon here as it just saves a couple of minutes of time since its impossible to lose even just attacking normally with aeons
not like it really made any difference, it just saved me like 2 minutes of time, and the creator of the challenge quite litarally just tells you to Grand summon here anyway

They are in the via purifico and in the water sections in Mt. Gagazet if I remember correctly
@masonlitowsky yeah I've never seen them

Great progress you're making this look easy keep it up

Eff this cloister! Hate it nearly as much as Chocobo Training. :-) Cheers, Primal!
yea bevelle is not a fun cloister
@@Primalliquid92 Are any of them really fun, though? Thinking about it, "tolerable" is the best they get, in my opinion at least.

smth smth pyreflies smth smth who knows i think there's gaming forums talking about this though

Just realised Isaru is the same voice actor as Axel
Honestly I wonder who would ever complain that anyone would break the rules of a challenge when the game is literally impossible to progress otherwise.
oh trust me, there are people out there who would
I dont think you have to get the other aeons considering you need to fight belgemine to the magus sisters
What is your time on steam for the FF games? If you wanna be extra spiffy, by each game?
Be nice to see like a four hour video. I know you're busy with work etc. But hey keep us TH-camrs happy 😂
so are you gonna fight ultima buster for the 99 dark matters
I hate this cloister so much. It's so tedious

no ill just remember what i need basicly as all the capturing is essentially done in sections
Do you stream your gameplay?
i do stream but not for this challenge

Cool, just wanted to check! Play through is awesome so far. Hope RNG is in your favour soon!

What's going on, everybody? I'm PrimalSpectre and I'm a Sausage Wizard
Thunder plains and macaflania you mean?
the flubb lives on
Am I wrong or doesn't wakka start with dark attack, probably wrong as it's been years since I played it but would have saved the game over maybe if so
Against the octopus that is
he does start with it yes
@@Primalliquid92 nice my memory doesn't fail me 🤣
So about that Final Fantasy five play through….
Used overdrives w the aeons. Run invalidated

@ don’t want to poke holes in your hard work. Just teasing a bit. The od clearly wasn’t needed to win anyway
ahh fair enough, honestly never know anymore with some of the comments i see each day. especially just lately
16:00 I did the issaru without overdrive, I think overdrives shouldn’t be allowed
eh, he wasnt on pace to lose the isaaru fight, he couldve just spammed attack and won, he had all of the other aeons still alive.

@@Primalliquid92 Saves 2 minutes in game, costs 2+ hours dealing with all the comments, unless that was the goal all along....
