I thought I mentioned it in the video but apparently, I guess I glanced over it too quickly. I fudged the spawn timer to make the thralls spawn that fast so that I could verify what thralls spawn there without it taking 5000 hours. But if you take into account that the thralls gathered that I show in the video happened during a 3 hour time period with the spawns being that fast and that by default they spawn every ten min on a normal server. You begin to realize that the chances of getting most of these thralls at this spot are almost pure luck. Which kinda sucks because that may be the only place to get Grr the legbiter.
Well maybe so, but this "luck" is really just a bit of a deception...
I was trying (on my official) to get Grrr to spawn, and never came across a T4 anything after a few attempts of about an hour and a half each. Not surprising, but I went into single player and turned up my spawn rates to repeat your experiment and ran it twice for about 2 hours each and nothing, not a single T4 spawned. Now I am used to some bad luck in games, but i figure that given the number of T4s you got in 3 hours I should be able to pull at least 1 in 4, right?
Then it hit me, this had nothing to do with whether I was the one pulling it or not. To explain, computers can't generate random numbers. They can compute things based on a set of parameters you put into code, but they have no way of generating something actually random. Usually when games use "RNG" it's a complicated algorithm using some starting number as a "randomizer" to make sure that players get different results. That's why you had one friend in Destiny that couldn't sneeze without a Gjallarhorn dropping and another friend that couldn't get a Mythoclast to save his life. The game would use some number internal to your profile (XBox Gamertag, PSN ID, Steam member number or whatever) to start from and then put it through a crazy number of calculations that would ultimately determine what loot you would "randomly" get.
This however, is a bit different (I suspect, I would of course need to see the code to be sure). So as I hit the admin panel to change it back to noon for the ten thousandth time it struck me, I was farming a "random" spawn that was not player-specific, so the randomizer probably has nothing to do with me. I realized that I had only been farming during daylight game time in single player (thanks to the admin panel) and generally on my official server whenever it gets dark I tend to find a safe spot and slink off for a cigarette. Since the thrall spawn is map wide and the randomizer (probably) isn't coming from a player, it most likely isn't using actual time of day/date either since that would be player specific as well, so game time of day might be a good one to use, as players are going to be farming these thrall at various (and somewhat random) times of the game day/night.
Did you happen to notice any patterns as to when your T4s were dropping? Did they usually drop in clumps like say 5 within 15 minutes then none for and hour or did they drop completely sporadically over the course of the 3 hours? If you happen to repeat the experiment at all, please try to make a note of the frequency of the T4 drops in relation to each other, we may be able to figure it out, or at least narrow it down.
Meanwhile, I'll be doing some night farming for a while.
While it's true that computers have a problem with generating truly random numbers, that should only be a problem for things like cryptography. It should not be a problem for a spawn rate in a game. Not at all. But the game definitely has a problem with that spawn rate, and there is only one possible reason for this: The devs made mistakes while implementing it. They probably used their own made-up RNG instead of understanding and using an established algorithm.
And that's just what's to say about faulty implementations of RNG. Don't get me started on why it's a bad idea to use pure RNG in a game that should be balanced in the first place.
I did 16 hours straight yesterday not a single named. Logged in this morning.. and 2nd thrall was a Named Tanner. So i dont know how that works with the above theories.
Unless you spent 16 hours straight in the same thrall camp with jacked up respawn rates killing a single thrall over and over then it doesn't. If you did I don't know whether to feel impressed, frightened, intimidated, or some mixture of the three. If you're just talking about gameplay, we would need a second by second account of your actions and a team of scientists to work it in.
If you don't consider the complete inability to do something a problem, I guess not. However, I did some looking into UE4 and their "random" spawns, and while I haven't found the exact documentation I was looking for it seems that they have the RNG built into the engine and you just provide parameters when designing the game, so getting a hold of the affecting parameters for spawning the T4s would be next to impossible without the underlying code.
So while finding Grrr is like a 1:224 chance, the best bet would be to try at varying times of day (both in game and real time) until you happen to chance upon the correct conditions to get him to spawn. Sorry that isn't more helpful, and I think the real problem here is the absolutely minuscule spawn rates of such a sought-after thrall, but hey what are you gonna do?
If you put a small base at the bottom of the hill near the panther spawn point, but on the road, you can run to the top of the hill, kill them, run back down, turn right back around (after touching your base) and they'll be respawned. It takes about 1 minute per turn doing it this way.
So in the WeightedSpawn table for all ExileArtisan_Random there is a column labeled NextWeightedTableID. If you search for that ID in the same table, does it show different weights for the different tiers?
Then each artisan type has the same chance of spawning since they are all 1.0, then the tiers would have their own chance based on the weight.
Even if it is weighted 1.0 for each tier within a class, that's still 1/6 x 1/20 (i.e. If there are 20 cooks and only one t4) which is 1/120 or 0.8%. Gotta have some luck to score one!

I remember seeing NextWeightedTableID but if I remember correctly it is the same name as whichever one I click on so if I click a t1 cook it says t1 cook. But I'll double check it as soon as I get a chance.

I know this video is a bit dated but u can get grrr legbiter from sinner's refuge. u can get pretty much every class of Lvl 4 exiles craftsmen from sinner's refuge. 99% of the time there's at least one lvl 4 in there.

i found interesting spot on L5 "Drifter's Rest" not like i'm farming it but every time i;m passing by i check it out and got named cook, smelter and carpenter from there
With the new leash laws ;) ;) of the latest patch you merely need to run down the hill a little ways before the thrall leashes snap. Watch your six with the Vanity camera and when they vanish, run back up. The thralls will have re-spawned. "Super easy, barely an inconvenience".
How does that work?
@@ICOnlyBlue Every NPC/Beast has a maximum distance they will follow (when aggro-ed), like a dog on a leash. Recently this distance was dramatically shortened for just about everything. When you aggro an enemy and run away, you can look behind your character using the vanity camera. Press the V key and adjust the camera (using the mouse) while running forward.
At some point the enemy will give up and turn back or completely disappear (the leash snaps). That is when the game de-spawns those enemies. Your character is beyond their active area. When you turn around and go back to their camp (wherever they came from), the game re-spawns new enemies.
The leash at this camp is now very short. It is a simple matter of running up to the camp, identifying the thralls and running away a short distance to de-spawn the current enemies and re-spawn new ones. Do this as often as necessary until you get bored or a desirable thrall spawns.
So strange. I just happened to go to this spot today. Never been there before and also have never seen this video. Then tonight this video shows up in my feed...
I believe the way these spawn tables work is that it "rolls" randomly for each line, and exits as soon as it succeeds. This means that with all equal weighting, things near the top of the list are much more likely to spawn than ones further down.
That's not how it works. Every line has an equal chance. The engine simply chooses one line at random and spawns that character. If there are 20 lines in the table, but only 2 of them are for tier 4 characters, you get a 2 in 20 (10%) chance of spawning a tier 4.

There is a spot in the jungle, where the silver ore deposits spawn in the ruins, that has 2 spawns at the very back of the upper area that are always random. Ive had it spawn everything in the game from the captain of the ship with the scourgestone piece, up to a volcano t4.

There's the spot north of Sepermeru there's an oasis with a relic hunter + armorer. that armorer is always a III but very often a named. different races not sure what can spawn there but I got a lot of named armorers from there.
There is a spot in hightlands as well that you can farm. Ive pulled a tier 3 smelter, armorer, blacksmith and dancer from there as well as a named archer.

On default settings, if you kill the thralls then run down the path to the rhino and then go back, they will respawn.

There's another spot like this infront of the black hand stone ship when you go to board it. Just north of it with a bunch of tents and cactus and 1 dude walking around. Theres 1 sitting there that change the thrall, also I've found an archer "-something- the dragoon" In a purge and outside the dogs of the desert base to the west on some ruined structure in the arena.
Ive never been to this spot, but have Grrr the legbiter. Im not totally sure where I got him, but I think I had him in Sinner's refuge. It's on an official PvE server on PS4
I was able to get Grr the legbiter at the 5th camp by the shattered bridge thankfully!
"Drifters rest" at L-5 also spawns grrr legbiters their too i just got him exploring found him at that camp lol

On the Xbox it is a 15 minute respawn timer, been killing that thrall for 4 hours now no legendaries yet

I built my starter base at the bottom of the hill. I have an elevator that goes up the mountain next to this spawn spot. I been hitting this spot forever, months and never got anything good.

@@Arch_Twisted I farmed for about 2 hrs and got 3 named thralls including Enis (solo). I'm on Steam and therefore the latest patch. 1. Place a bedroll nearby, just in case. 2. Now don't change any server settings. 3. Just check the thralls: knock 'em out, kill 'em or just run away to safety. 4. Exit to Main Menu. 5. Continue game. 6. Repeat as necessary. That's all I did.

It takes 15 minutes for the thralls to re spawn exactly 15 minutes (Had a timer).so you can get 4 kills per hour and depending on your play time maybe 50 kills per week. Jesus christ.

FireSpark81 nope... I gave up on day 3. I just wanted him to have him. I know other people got him on other servers, but it's so rare it's not worth, your better off getting pirate or summoning place. To get the str there then raid. Since at max it takes 5-6 hours
I agree it really isn't worth it imo. I think it is stupid that this is the only place he spawns. I feel like it is a lazy excuse for them not giving him a proper spawn location like most other t4 thralls.
it is I couldn't get the dev kit to work properly since threadripper does not respond well with it. So I could not dive in properly I just know the spawn rate was like .01 per chance for him to spawn compared to 1 percent like all other perma spawns. Pls give that to the devs or tweet them since getting that thrall is no fun.
I just built a mini base with a well and enough supplies for awhile by this spot ill be check twice and hour while I play other games hahaha

I tried farming Enis here, unsuccessfully. Then during a purge she appeared and I uh, accidentally killed her... sigh. Back to farming.
Basically, if your in the area check it out, you might get lucky.
Contact user multigun on steam who made a mod which affects the weighting or chance for higher tier spawns. He studied all spawns in game to do it correctly.

Nope. Sorry, Grr Legbiter appears at a little river falls camp just north of the Shattered Bridge too. I know this because he's currently in my WOP and that's where I captured him. Maybe they've changed it since you made the video though.

there is a cave full of exiles that dose the same thing with added named thralls thrown in.

For some reason though I cannot find 'ANY' taskmaster thralls other than a single guaranteed thrall on the newbie river so far, I ran that cave about 6 times now and the camps around the river dozens of times and no taskmasters other than a tier 1 thats guaranteed. I think theres a bug preventing them from spawning.
The people working at Funcom make so many mistakes. Bugs are natural but they have such a poor quality control process

No, it wouldn't work on official unless you're an admin for one. It's a server config setting.

Thanks for the replies, so, it's 3 hours when respawning every 3 seconds, that's 900 hours when calculating with 15 minute respawns. That's not very promising.

Can confirm Grrr has spawned at F3 and 4, and G3 on the map.
Impossible to find a nordheimer T4 armorer anywhere.
There are two main spots within the main Asagarth camp. One is an armorer spawn(which can roll for Njoror Battleborn) east of the two rams and the Chieftain hut(which can roll for an armorer Chieftain Aslaug, but most of the time it's just a T3 fighter with a T1 dancer) west-most of the camp. Problem with that area is the crazy amount of trash mobs, including wolves, you have to pass through.
How did he knock them out in one shot?

id say best spot to build is at oasis of nekhet, youve got loads of stone and iron stone aswell as 3 dams to fish in and thralls to tame just south in the city. brimstone is close and cooking the unappetizing fish gives a lot of ichor

About 3 hours I stopped when I got him to spawn because he was the main one that I needed to verify. The others that spawn there make armor that you can get from others who are much easier to get. But like Polartic said its a dice roll. You could go there kill one and he be the next one to spawn. But your chance to get him to spawn is literally 1 in the total count of possible spawns at that location.
How long does it take to respawn the thralls because for me it doesn’t respawn instant
he cranked the spawn rates up on his singleplayer mode, so he could check the spawn table faster. usually the guys spawn at a rate of 16 minutes.
Can any of these thralls can repair legendary weapons?

Can you use this area as a xp farm?
Albedo Alfredo you can use most things as xp farms the thing that is special about this particular spot is the amount of possible spawns(the random thrall list having many options). As he said the spawn timer has been fudged if you want an xp farm do to a place with many spawns (capitals, big camps, that type of stuff). Have a nice day

How do you get flawless vanir armor?
Njoror Battleborn or Chieftain Aslaug. Any spot in and around New Asagarth with an eligible armorer spawn can potentially spawn Njoror, but the Chieftain is only the hut farthest from the main entrance of the main camp, and very rarely so.
Like many other people I was confused at first and thought there was a bug going on where the npc would spawn instantly. However I watched the full video and discovered that the spawn time was actually 10 min. So I am wondering what is the point of this video?

Dude, you've got the spawn table, there is no reason to farm the spot to get stats. It's random chance.
The only reason to farm that spot is for grr. But that's not really the point of the video.

named archers is freya, look her up. 4 dina the huntresses spawn west of freya, idk why but its consistent on all official servers

I was getting t4 here and then I built a little two close to it and they stopped spawning but even after I deleted what was blocking the spawn and they started spawning again it hasn’t spawned a t4 in 5 days of farming only levels 1 to 3. Rng or I broke it?
This is on an Xbox official but I just got done testing in my single player game after intentionally blocking then unblocking the spawn zero t4 in about 100 reroll prior to blocking was getting a t4 every 10 to 15 rerolls.
Could be a bug.
