Today Kirby is joined in the Dallas office by UK-based bespoke shoemaker and winner of the 2019 World Championship of Shoemaking, Daniel Wegan.
In 2020 Daniel launched his own bespoke shoemaking brand, Catella Shoemaker.
In today's video Daniel goes through the artistry that goes into a bespoke shoe, and the hardship that it entails.
Note: This is re-released version of a video published yesterday, due to an issue with audio. This should have now been fixed.

What a great episode! Kirby, you have certainly developed your interviewing skills over the years and it is a true pleasure following this wonderful channel. Your content curating is close to epic and the love and passion found here is nowhere else. Thanks again for helping start off my day with a nice filter coffee and a 'shoeful' of wisdom!

Hey Kirby! I live in the UK and have recently started my journey into cigars. I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos and listening to you talk with the Sahakians and the Foulkes.
In fact I’ve just this hour spent a fair sum of cash online at Davidoff of London. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all of your cigar related videos now, and the insight has been invaluable for a newbie like me. (Currently really enjoying the Romeo blend so I’ve purchased a few boxes of short Churchills, and I’ve ordered some of Davidoffs short perfectos which will be my first non-Cuban so I’m looking forward to trying those)
Anyway, the purpose of this comment. I wanted to ask if you could review some cigar accessories… Humidors, cutters, lighters, ashtrays… Or even just talk about your personal favourites. It would be nice to hear which accessories you prefer before I sink my money into any potentially poor investments.
    Thanks! 👍👌

Hi MrOggy96, and I am glad that the cigar content has been useful for you! I am also happy you are becoming a happy patron of Davidoff of London. The Sahakians truly are as nice as they seem on camera!
As for accessories, I would say that some of these have been covered a little bit in some of our cigar videos, particularly ones in the office here in Dallas. However it is something we can look at making more of. I have certainly talked through my humidor, and some of the desk top humidor options in a video. As for cutters, you will notice in my videos, I always talk about my only favorite cutter, the El Casco! www.kirbyallison.com/el-casco-chrome-cigar-cutter.html?queryID=3a439b8ef538d04c60a69b8312a726dd&objectID=1298&indexName=prod_default_products
Honestly, the thing is just fantastic!
I can certainly have a think about making some more cigar accessory content though! Cheers

Why people cannot differentiate between the concept, one-off , competition shoe and everyday shoes with some off the flare and detail of the concept shoe.. I mean come on?? Why this guy has to defend his creativity is beyond me. The competition shoe was a look into what is possible, it wasn’t supposed to be something you’d see on the shelf. That wasn’t the purpose.

let others decide wether what you do for a living is art or not. if you love what you do, have the talent and you are a hard worker then you enter the realm of luck which per definition is when preperation meets opportunity. thats when so called artists are born and being called an "artist" by others is the posh way of saying rich people are willing to pay good money for your name and craft and you need to step up your brand management, Corporate Identity, marketing/awareness, business management etc. so for multiple reasons your brand becomes very special to them or at least they think it is, because a friend or someone they trust or even someone they are jealous of told them so.
as for showpieces: the philistine is just a consumer, so why expect them to understand creativity, transboundary experiments that finally inspire and pave the way to the very product they are then so eager to buy, consume and brag about? they are consumers and all they want is to consume with a little lowbrow story attached to the subject/object to share with their circle of acquaintances. we pay the most for things we like and either are not able to build, create ourselves, are too big of a time sink or we are just too lazy, so money greatly helps in compensating the inferiority complex because of the respective incapability.
