Very cool! I've had a bit of trouble getting people back to the table, and only got a single game of Reign in Hell done, so seeing a Solo campaign is really great. I've been thinking of ways to apply an A.I system to the different demons to play solo. This expansion means I can play the game with an idea what the creators intended the A.I. to be like. I was actually trying out using the more aggressive A.I. types from Five Parsecs, using modified versions of their Rampaging, Aggressive and Beast types to give some flavor to different factions. I think something meant for the game would fit better though, as I had found these A.I. that I was using to be acceptable, but not particularly challenging. Great review as always my friend, and will most certainly be picking this one up too

Thanks! The challenge from Oculus Spear lives more in the scenario design, I think. Though the custom made, per scenario AI will be instrumental in the scenario's internal balance. Oh and heads up, there's higher difficulty rules in the Five Parsecs expansion, which I've yet to cover but have heard nothing but good about!

Thank you for the excellent overview... I'm preparing to play this right now... very excited for it actually. I've been solo boardgaming and wargaming (traditional, not minis stuff) for a while so this is right up my alley. Arkham Horror LCG (which you mention) is perhaps my #1 all time solo game... My painting table is all Reign in Hell at the moment, and I haven't really had to buy anything.. Ok, well, I can't help myself with some etsy terrain, but I've already got all the minis I'll need. I stumbled onto this entire genre (mini's agnostic skirmish games) and it's like a new world of gaming just opened up. Really enjoying your videos and sense of humor. Good stuff.

Thanks! There's lots to choose from in the genre, I'll be covering more of em in the future.

Been barely any buzz about it which is a pity!

Yo, do the AI activations use your initiative rolls or do they roll their own set? Ex: you have 7 demons vs 6 ai demons, which activate on rolls of 7 and 3.
You roll your 7 initiative dice. You roll a handful of 8s a 7 and a 3. Monsters activate and discard the 7 and 3? Do not discard? Do they roll 6 of their initiative dice and only activate on 7s and 3s?

They have their own static set which is always the same value. Roll your dice, lay them out, then insert the AI activations at whatever points their rules state. They don't roll any dice or change up any of yours, you just make them go at the number stated. They often go with multiple models at a time, each scenario will have its own special setup for AI.

@@CementSaul not sure why I didn't see this reply but this makes a lot more sense.
It also explains why my campaign was so brain dead easy and most.missions ending in two turns.
