    Howzit man , i run the jsb 18.13s at 980 and lazer accurate out of my 1:16 twist rate barrel.
    Shooting the m22 gen 1(jackal)
    At 50m my grouping was the size of a 20 cent south african coin.
    Sent 11 down range with just the bipod and not 1 "flyer"😊

    Hi Gert ...love your videos...quick and straightforward. As you well know, each and every gun/barrel "likes" ..well ...what it likes. I am new to the PCP World ..just bought my 1st ..Umarex Origin. In my quest to find what my gun "likes", it's the JSB Jumbo Heavy. No doubt, not pushing as fast as in this video ...but WAY better/more accurate. (Maybe your gun will do better with them at slower speeds ..maybe not. The only adjustment available to me (unregulated gun) is the hammer spring. Through a bunch of "trial and error", I have learned to adjust hammer spring through the shot count so that I can group 27 to 28 shots in 1/2 inch groups @ 50 yards. Shooting dead on zero @ 30 with 1 & 1/4 inch drop @ 50. All this just to say: The information you provide is very helpful ...BUT ....there should always be the caveat, "This is how MY GUN performs ...yours may perform differently!" BTW - I am a subscriber ...love your stuff. (You do know that there are far more guns that will never shoot jsb 18.13's over 900 fps than there are that will ...do some "reviews" @ more common speeds!)

    18.13 at about 900-930 will drop pellet on pellet at 50m. Results were as expected, the beauty of the power plenum is you can get slugs up to speed but once you do you cant get the speed back down for pellets with out a retune. Redesigns seem great out of a slug liner and like the speed. Have you tried 218 slugs out of interest, am assuming you are using a slug A liner.

    Hi Gert, Thank you for filming and sharing your testing. You will help many people. One small observation - I notice that you are leaving the chrono attached while shooting your groups. The weight of the chrono on the barrel will shift the POI down but I would think that it will also affect the barrel harmonics and hence the group sizes. Would it not be best to shoot a few pellets to get the average FPE but then remove the chrono for the 5-shot group? I know that this will be a pain removing and refitting the chrono over and over but surely you will get more realistic results.
    On a separate note. Why not weigh some of each pellet/slug you test so that shoot 5 identical weight projectiles? Surely this would be a good move once you have already eliminated the no hopers. Then go on to shoot the best of the pellets/slugs plain and lubed to see how tight the groups can get.
    All the best, Martin

      100% correct, not much difference with pellets but with slugs the harmonic tuning is crucial, I have since changed the setup with the chrony on a tripod, not touching the barrel. Much better. Tx for watching and a well thought out reply.
      With regard to weighing the pellets - I did seriously consider it and then decided not to weigh them, I wanted the viewer to experience the results as a "normal" shooter would, very few people actually weigh their pellets and slugs, it is just the dedicated few of us. Most people who shoot FX or other guns simply open the tin and let it rip, they trust the manufacturer to produce quality pellets/slugs. I don't even weigh my pellets for league shoots, I only weigh them for the bigger events and nationals. But I like your suggestion, maybe redo one or two videos, sort the best weighted pellets etc. Tx for the idea.

      @@AimSmall Hi Gert, Yep, I agree that weighing pellets is a royal pain. When I was Field Target shooting I would spend an entire afternoon weighing and sorting a tin of 500 pellets. I still pass my pellets through a sizer and lube them for hunting because I feel a moral obligation to maximise accuracy and minimise the number of flyers.
      Can I suggest that you try one short cut. Skip the weighing. Skip the washing and just go straight to lubing the pellets/slugs. I have been using Pellet Perfect LT1 lube recently and can recommend it. Just 10/20 drops into a plastic bowl and then gently swirl 500 pellets through it to coat each one then allow the solvent to evaporate and the pellets to dry overnight. The pellets then feel slick but completely dry and not sticky. Give it a try - I defy you to say that the groups don't improve.
      I will send you a note when I get round to producing some pellet test / pellet preparation videos for my channels.
      All the best.

    Have you tried H & N Baracuda match heavies, 21.14 gr. available in three different head sizes, .551, .552, & .553, for choked & tighter bbls with smaller diameters in the breech like Hatsan flash pups, .551 is good but I think either of .552 or .553 head size will be okay with your Impact, have used the .553 in my BSA and it hits hard on target!

      Hi Damingo, we currently can't get them, out of stock, would love to test them soonest.

      Aim Small I like the way you test pellets on your Impact! but as for me, a comparison of same pellet weights, & shapes but different brands should be good to see! by the way, I’m subscribing !!!

    Poor , poor results with the 18.13 at that fps. I am waiting on a superior liner delivery. I would like to know if they will group at lower speeds.

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was also supprised with the 18gn poor performance, will redo some of the tests as I made mods to the gun. I know the 26gn are one holing at 40m, the 18gn are now running close to 1000fps out my gun so have to turn it down for the 18gn's...lol

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After tuning my gun slightly different I am getting much better results with the 18gn's, but I am running them @ higher speeds as well, 950fps with some tight groupings at 40m (1 holing with 5 shots). I have plenty of 16gn's left in the cupboard - my gun now runs them at 990fps on the "min" power setting. Too fast by about 30fps I guess. Getting decent groupings at 40m even at this speed.

    18.1g run at 890 Fps for optimum accuracy. You are running then waaaay too fast. Got this from FX USA. Pellet on pellet at that speed. Insanely accurate.

      Yes but the Diana will not push the pellets fast enough to stabilize them.

    What bothers me isn't so much the grouping size but that you have so many flyers and semiflyers.
    The tight parts of your groupings, even at this range, should be where *all* your shots land.
    *Trouble*shooting is in order!
    First, take that chrony off the shroud -- anything hanging on a barrel interferes with it's dynamics.
    If that doesn't do it, check your pellet skirts, barrel hygiene, screw tightness, and coffee consumption.
    Horizontal wandering can be chalked up to crosswind, but *vertical* wandering is *never* normal.

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whahaha, great reply. Yes my coffee consumption might be a bit high, but I shoot worse without it. Chrony now on tripod and not close to barrel - learned that lesson the hard way, pellets not so fussy but the slugs... oh my goodness they are fussy with harmonics. My gun is now purring nicely and shot count is also better, running 26gn slugs at power 5 @950.

    Optimal speed for HEAVIES 1,175 g is 272 m/s for CRICKET- probably the same for FX. Why Do you think that 25 grain REDESINED are more accurate than PREVIOUS ones .? Redesigned are prone to spiral after 75 metres

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't seen any spiralling yet after 75m, had successfully shot pigeons up to 105m with them.

  • @jacovanwyk1109
    @jacovanwyk1109 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Strange that my slug liner actually shoots the 18 grainars very well out to 50 meter at 960 fps. My gun loves the redesign jsb 25 grain pellets most and 30 gr H&N 217 slug.
    My superior linor doesn't want to groep at all with jsb knockoutsat any speed. Is there anyone else here with the same problem? I only want to use them because they are cheaper.

    • @AimSmall

      Maybe, maybe not, the 18gr are accurate out of most of my guns from 750fps all the way up to 965fps. What speed do you prefer or recommend?
