  • A subscriber had a lift table that he was no longer using. Instead of selling it, he offered it to me. The only catch is, its a couple states away and weighs in at about 800 lbs. Thanks Jim!
I use Harbor Freight Super Heavy Duty Degreaser in my ultrasonic cleaner.

I have a "Handy Lift" and this is similar in function. The handy lift is larger but I never had a hard time moving it around like that. The handy lift is pneumatic and has a huge cylinder under it. It weighs about 400 lbs or so and I move it around the shop easily by myself. I put a wheeled dolly under one end by lifting it and sliding the dolly under with my foot. Then I simply lift the other end by hand and move it around like a wheel barrow. Easy peasy. At one time I entertained putting permanent wheels on one end but dismissed the idea because it was just easy to move without it. BTW that lift will be a godsend when you have something really heavy you need to get into or out of the back of a pickup truck. You're going to love that. I use mine constantly. Also find a 1/4" - 1/2" piece of plate steel a little larger than the top and you have a welding bench and a trans bench too. You'll use that for everything. Meanwhile it's a work bench that very rarely gets cluttered. Your viewer must really love ya. And a thank you from me to him for his generosity! That viewer just changed your life with one great gift. 👍

I have the HF motorcycle lift ( I took it as payment for replacing the starter ring gear on a HD) and use it for all sorts if stuff, not just motorcycles, saves SO much pain in the old back. I had my back cut on back in 2005 and both shoulders done in 2018, so having my work on a table is a requirement at 56.

Great addition to the shop, your future knees will thank you. I love my little BX (with Backhoe), they are workhorses!! But Dude, get the hooks off the top of the bucket. It's a common home-gamer mistake. D-rings and chain hooks need to be in the bucket. I had a good friend in High School whose family ran a sod farm. His older brother was killed when a chain snapped and whipped over the top of the bucket and hit him in the chest. The investigator assigned to his death said on commercial mines all pulling attachments must be in the bucket... that way, not "if", but "when" a chain snaps you have the bucket between you and the chain. Easy fix. Look up Paul Short on TH-cam. He did a lot of great BX mods and will show you how and where to mount them.
Over the years I've had numerous contractors at my place laugh at my little BX. But once they see what it can do, 6 out of 8 of them now own one!!

Right, James, at your and my age, on does not neet to crawl on the floor anymore. My budget lift solution for equipment and up to medium size motorcycles is a € 750.- high-lift pallet truck (scissors-type, lifts up to 90cm/3ft) with a homemade 200cm x 68cm (80" x 27") closed-deck pallet on it. So I have a perfect lift, an additional workbench, and a handy pallet truck is allways good to have in the shop.
