I had a Gateway 2000 P5-75 Multimedia as a kid. Seeing that case again brings back so many memories....☺

Old computer videos in general never get old! You did a good job on this one! The front end of the Gateway 2000 4DX2-66V 486 computer in this video looks a bit streamlined for its time.

To get into the BIOS try CTRL-ALT-ESC after the post has been completed. That's what I use for my dx2/66

I think we had the model previous to that one. The case looks the same. It had the 3 1/2" floppy sideways like that but it didn't have a CD-ROM drive it had a 5:25" floppy in that slot. For some reason, the processor did not have a heatsink on it unless someone had taken it off when my dad's buddy's neighbor had it originally.

Back in the early 2000s, I had a Gateway store when the Parkway was built behind my mall. Over the years, many stores have come and gone from this shopping center

    Hello!
Just the same case I lusted after a friend of mine got one... he loaded it with extras, like the tape backup drive, the dual floppy drive, he got an SCSI Nec 3X CD-ROM and SCSI adapter, the same ATI MACH32 VLB video card, but he chose an odd sound card a Mozart Wave Table sound card. It was super fast with 16MB of RAM and that VLB GUI accelerator, so much that when he upgraded the OS to Windows 95 it felt still pretty snappy.
Just awesome to see such a similar machine after so many years! 😍

I really like the old gateway 2000 line of computers, i guess, because a gateway 2000 was the first computer we ever owned ourself. I remember we gave close to 3000 dollars back then for it. At that time, computers weren't cheap by any means.

Your intro music reminds me of 80s sports shows that were usually on a saturday 😎

Patiently waiting for your next video. This one was very interesting. I'm glad you are keeping these 1900s machines alive!

Ya mean 1990s machines. 1900s machines would be 100 year old antiques lol

My second pc upgrade from my compaq cds 866(486 dx4 with 48mb of mem) was to a beautiful tower(same as the one next to the desktop) gateway 2000 case with a pentium 233, a fantastic voodoo banshee 16mb, and atleast 64mb of memory. I was so impressed and shocked by the difference, especially with the old 1mb cirrus logic video. Things went from particles to beautiful nebula.. where a turn took 2 mins in birth of the federation with my 486, it took 5 seconds with that gateway tower. I know it was totally different parts inside, but i will be looking out for that tower and weird "foot" it sat on that curved out from the bottom. The power button was satisfying too...

I have this exact model sitting in my closet. It currently won't try to access any drives after POST; I'm hoping a new battery will resolve the issue.

For ALL compact flash/sd cards .... you need to run FDISK /MBR before you use them in a DOS computer
The default MBR that comes on CF/SD cards out of the box is NOT bootable as manufacturers never designed them to run on an old PC as a boot drive. Running the FDISK /MBR overwrites the MBR block on the CF/SD card with one that is bootable.
