I pretty much used to be in the library multiple times a week. From when I was a child, until I was out of high school. I blame a lot of it on technology getting better and social media.
I hope not. It wouldn't skyrocket in value if an average dude stuffed it down his pants, but when a woman does something like that, we are all supposed to get turned on by it and treasure it. It's unsanitary, but by and large society won't care, unfortunately. And I'm not saying any of this because I have anything against Audrey Plaza, it's just that I'm tired of the double standards of how society treats women and men when the genders do the exact same things in terms of questionable behavior.
Hahaha, dude; it's a video about VCR tapes, so... it looks like a VCR tape. Maybe even a copy of a copy. That's what we had man. And shoes made of cardboard. And we walked to school, and it was uphill both ways!
camera person staring at her directly instead of remembering to focus the camera is all of us, don't be ashamed camera person, we understand. also Serial Mom AND Corrina Corrina mention in the same video, I love elder millennial takeover of popular culture
She should be April o'neil not that bootleg woodpile goldberg rotund wanda sykes rip off In that horrible animated mutant mayhem movie. If anyone has a brain and money please do a modern version of the 1990s TMNT with aubrey plaza as April o Neil and Bobby lee as Krang in prosthetic makeup lol or the guy who played frasier. Then get Will Arnett to play Vernon. And some real Japanese MMA athletes to play shredder. Then cast the voices of Theo Von (Mikey) Harland Williams (Mikey or Don) (, Mark Normand (Raph) and Josh Johnston (Leo or Don) as the Turtles. Back up casting in case someone is unavailable should include: Shane Gills (Mikey) Adam Ray (Any) Pete Holmes (Any) Andrew Santino (Raph) Dan Soder (Any) The Special FX should be practical for the most part. A mix of CGI, AI, Motion Capture, and practical. With a budget of 190 to 300 million the movie could be expected to gross 1 billion globally in the first 9 months.
Can't wait to see this get recommended again in 10 years. I love Aubrey Plaza and everything she does. She's so hilarious and a national treasure imo. Hope I get to work with her one day! 😂
i caught serial mom airing on tv when i was 13 and not to be dramatic but it redirected my life lol every month i'd be flipping through the tv guide hoping to watch it again
I would really like to see Aubrey in a Tarantino film. I have no doubt that they would get along and work really well together. I would love to hang with them both in a video store just browsing through titles.
I also worked at a video store right when DVDs were coming in. In the computer we could put notes on people's account. One day I was helping a customer who was a middle aged guy with little kids. I had to stifle a laugh because the note on his account said "this guy rents gay porn".
I used to have a VHS library in the 90's but i donated all of it when i started collecting DVDs. I still got my entire DVD library (+bluray) and also a bunch of classic action movies on VHS that i've found in flea markets. CD's, tapes and vinyls too. I'll probably keep them until i die. Classic media is great, they're a big part of my history, and yes i'm kinda old (i got netflix though) lol
well, considering that i'm in the middle of my "watch every movie and series Aubrey Plaza has ever made because Rio Vidal made my obsession for Aubrey come back stronger than ever" this video was exactly what i needed, it's a bummer that the focus was like that because watching her expressions is so fun
My childhood movies were in those boxes she said, and I remember it was so entretaining to be opening an closing those, also one was from strawberry shortcake and the box smelled like strawberries, good times 🥹
I used to shop often at the original Kim’s, on St Marks Place. Only place you could count on finding a copy of “Wu Warriors from the Magic Mountain.” Remember this is before you bought everything online, when an actual place had to have actual things. What a wonderland. Love Kim’s, and, love that long-dead version of NYC in the 90s-00s. Back when artists could still afford to live there
I'm struggling to make sense of how celebrities have been going to these places that everyone else in the industry knows to visit for older films. Does everyone famous get recommended to buy at these specific stores?
Why are they pretending like aubrey plaza is going to know a lot about vhs tapes? She is younger than me, and VHS stopped being widely used before she was a teenager. You had to be poverty to still be using them, and she was not poverty.
who's pretending like aubrey plaza is going to know a lot about vhs tapes anyway? also i am 30 and i know about vhs tapes... you don't have to be 50 or 60 to remember
nothing will ever beat going to a video store and looking at the covers and reading the synopsis on the back of the box and just taking a gamble and renting a movie. Streaming has really destroyed a lot of that.
I lived across the street from Kim's for a few years. Their selection really was great. Aubrey would have been seen as the normal one among her co-workers.
Had no idea Alamo Drafthouse bought Kim's Video until this video was randomly recommended to me. I worked there just after college. I just assumed it was completely gone at this point. Guess it's cool that it's got some kind of second life.
7:20 , was that music on the tape? I am wondering if the song we are hearing was actually edited into the film with Jim Carey's acting! this was a fantastic clip to cut to!
Kim's video man... the way you recreate that is build a 3 story building, top floor is where you live, middle floor has the movie rentals and first floor is the physical media sales. Then you stage FBI raids over bootlegs. You could have a whole nyc nostalgia retro "disney like" experience.
The shade at algorithmic recommendations, the pants VHS, the foot joke... I would go to war for her

The chewing is awful.
She's Billie Murray
Makes me wonder if she's on Molly or something similar.
so ?

Her dry, deadbeat delivery is so hilarious 😂
Except she's forty now, a tad old for this persona.
@@hd-xc2lz ??? what does age have to do with it?
I feel the same way about libraries. It's nice to browse physical objects instead of a screen... especially as someone who works on a screen all day.
I owe the Library here a lot of money too…walk out with shit I never scanned
