The game has changed so much in 30 years but I miss the soul of hockey from back then. Maybe it's nostalgia of my childhood but the game was less regimented then, talented kids were given more freedom to free role around the neutral zone, goalies weren't michelin man robots, etc. Also, the rinks back then weren't these sterilized multiplex fitness center type facilities; you went into a rink and it was cold, the acoustics were echo-y and old school.
This was the first State Hockey Tournament I ever went to. I was 10. I think I went to 12 consecutive tournaments after this one. Best tournament in the world!
If u talk to all the Jefferson players this time started in actually 92 to 93..and they had to beat one of the best teams ever in high school hockey.the Cloquet Lumberjack s..who had Langenbrunner..and a bunch of others that were awesome..GOPHER s of course know Bergoliat. But that game thos two played in 92 was great.
Do you have this full game on a VHS or DVD by chance? I have been trying to track it down for a while now and have come up with nothing. If so, maybe I could get a copy of it? Thanks.
Andy, I checked and don't see that I have this one, sorry. I cleaned out some space after I captured the highlights. I'll let you know if I come across anything; I'm trying to track down some other games myself.
Ryan Shanley No Problem man! Sounds good! I think I finally found someone who has the game anyways. That quality is pretty good on these videos considering how old the footage is. I bought the other games from that year from the MSHSL, but they didn't have this one or the 2000 AA Final. Just waiting to get them in the mail now. Looking to collect 1994-Present, which are the games I have been to. Thanks for posting these videos. Lots of fun to watch and remember!
Mark Hall bahaha. Beside Phil Housley name one other pro hockey player South St Paul has produced. And it’s sports, trash talk comes with the territory.
Thanks for posting this. The Jefferson Dynasty of the early 90s made me fall in love with hockey.
I wish I saw a hockey game in 1994.

Mike Crowley was incredible.

Pizzadude is Wally Shaver's biggest fan
How the mighty have fallen...Jefferson can't win their section tourney's.
its called open enrollment, idiot.
Glad Moorhead never one, they talked trash about South St Paul so karma. South St Paul has produced a lot more players than Moorhead
