I have always felt she is one of the most humble stars ever. I am excited to see this awesome movie later today. I'm widowed and I have allowed being alone to keep me from seeing movies but not today. I'm taking myself to dinner and this movie and I'm ok being by myself.

What a beautiful story and such a wonderful and much needed organization created! It reminds me of a story my sister told me in my teens. Before immigrating to the USA, I was badly burned and couldn’t lift my right arm fully because of how my skin healed. My proud father was told about an organization that could help with upending medical costs for my 1st skin graft surgery. If it wasn’t for that organization, I probably wouldn’t have the mobility that I have. We need to support organizations like these. GREAT STORY ❤

I lost my wife of 22 yrs approximately 10 years ago, she fough Pancreatic Cancer for almost 3 yrs before she succumbed to that terrible disease. I was her caregiver for those years and it really took a toll on me. But I wouldn't have had it any other way. She was the light of my life and I still miss her a lot.

I was 16 yo when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and 18 yo when I was diagnosed with uterine cancer, had so much debt that I had to file for bankruptcy to get out from under it. There were no organizations out there to help me back then with the bills. If there were, I didn’t know about them at the time. April 1st will be my 32 year cancer free. Thank you for what you are doing for these people drowning in debt.

I pay alot for this insurance. i'm disgusted. won't even get me assisted ride home from the rehab hospital. you can bet the hospital is getting $$$$$$$$$ from my ins.this is wrong. the brace they put on my arm was too long now i have 2 wounds from an ill fitting brace.

Love Hilary Swank. I know she has two Oscars, but in a weird way, I think she's underappreciated. I never hear anyone cite her as one of their favourite actresses. I think she is so good in everything she does and she always picks challenging roles. I so wish her t.v show Away got picked up for a second season; that show was poignant and so engaging.

I’m in the UK so we are extremely lucky to have the NHS. During my husbands cancer treatment I went on a Facebook support group for people dealing with the same cancer. It broke my heart that some people had to delay starting treatment, or had to forgo a chemo round for a month or two….I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. But at the same time made us so thankful for the NHS, but not only that, the weekly financial support benefit that he was entitled to through the government Also for the next five years free prescriptions and dental cover. Some people moan about the NHS, but they are literally life saving AND without the added mental stress of financial debt. I just couldn’t image going through all treatment, being in remission and be thousands and thousand of pounds (dollars) in debt.

She was homeless because of the medical costs for her daughter's chemo, she lost her daughter to cancer. Our medical system is broken. If someone has surgery, needs hospitalization, or treatment for a terminal illness, the costs are stagering. Kelly, thank you for hosting this show and everything you do. He is on the transplant list waiting for his new heart. The medical debit him and all these precious heart warriors is beyond ridiculous. But, not only that, the cost of tolls on the bridges from IN to KY, eating out all the time, gas back and forth, and all the other extra expenses is crazy! I thank God for this movie, and hoping it will wake people up!

I was looking up something else and this is exactly what I am having to do right now.. is choose.. how do I choose.. what do I choose.. what is right to do.. my kids need me still.. so many thoughts. And on top of it.. it is with Hilary Swank who graduated from the high school my kids attended a couple years ago. I needed this for some reason. Not sure why cause I still don’t know the right answer.. Kelly is my absolute favorite of all time and just very powerful right now to me. I hope I can make the right choice. This was such an emotional interview for me. I'm still crying.
My mother needed life-saving surgery to repair 2 brain aneurisms.
Hospital billed my father $20,000 for the anæsthesia. He wound up having to work until his back gave out at age 85.
Then he was evicted a month after he had a pacemaker maker put in. He'd gone into heart failure when he realized he couldn't afford to live or have a roof over his head.
Landlord threw out all his belongings after hospital put him in a nursing home.
When there is no family able to help, strangers make some life-altering decisions for you, going so far as to prevent the family from having any say, sadly.
A person can work their entire life, but an outsider can steal your efforts by making it difficult for you to enjoy the fruits of your own labor or retain that which you've worked hard for. One major illness can wipe out all a person's resources, and an entire family's livelihood
The medical racket in the US is a leading cause of despair in this country.

I lost my mum nearly 8 years after a prolonged illness and medical issues. For 4 years I looked after her, and it was my pleasure to do so (I had promised my dad years ago before he passed that she would never go into a care home - and she never did). My older siblings hardly did anything to help. I put my life on hold. I used to joke with my friends that when she goes my mind would break. It did. The day she passed I had a breakdown and t this day my mind has never been the same. I went through verba, mental and at one point physical assault by my sister in law when she and my brother moved in with me and 6 nf half years later I'd had enough. The house was sold and we went our seperate ways.
Hilary was so right in how it's the just the thing you do. You look after your loved ones. My mum looked after me when I was younger, helped me when I got sick. It was my turn to do the same for her. I miss her every day.
If anyone out there reading this is in a similar situation PLEASE know you are not alone. Help is out there should you need it, and above all never be afrraid of askign for help. It's not a sign of weakness. It's a sign of your strength.

Even before some crushing diagnosis that requires extensive treatments, lots of people are barely scraping by and can't afford their co-pays so they just ignore the pain, ignore the lump until they have no other choice. Then it costs way more than the preventative check ups and tests would have. Every day someone is choosing between seeing a doctor or therapist and paying their monthly bills. They say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Lots of good folks can't afford either one.

Great to see Hilary Swank again. She was totally amazing in the Clint Eastwood movie Million Dollar Baby. Amazing acting by her. And I'm really impressed with Kelly Clarkson.

Ms. Kelly, Ms. Hillary and grieving man, thank you for sharing your story. My condolences to you and your family. Isn't there programs in the American cancer society for cancer patients to help with paying hospital bills?
Grieving man, your program, will start to help millions of deserving people. Thank you, much love and hugs man.
Ms. Hilary the movie, Boys don't cry is a good one. I didn't resonate with the movie then. Because of trauma. I had to work through the trauma to remember who I have always been. And not my mother telling me who I was, what I can do and not with my body. Iam so glad you are well and seem happy.
I can resonate with medical bills. When I broke my neck in 2001, I received in the postal service mail, medical bills on my lower back from an industrial accident on the job, I was 28 or 29 years old. I was the breadwinner in the family. I was a teen parent and went through training to be a Type 2 commercial school bus driver, I drove commercially at age 18 to 28, when I hurt my back. I started to throw my medical bills in garbage bags, total of $129,000. That is just the lower back. A personal injury in a car crash for my neck. Bill Heartless was his name. I received $10,000, for my personal injury case which I broke my neck in two places and survived. Not fair court anything. Not one fair of justice in the work comp system and personal injury from car crashes. I have been in 5. Last one was 7/11/2021. I was sitting stationary in my SUV when someone back into us hard. I was up for a week and started to see sequence of angelic numbers and sequences. I had written every day for a year and half about the spiritual events that were going on and had some very good tarot readers to find the words that was going on. I knew it was right. Is a knowing. I was playing soccer around 28 years and hurt my foot and in denial that my back was hurt with a herniated disc. Scoliosis and arthritis. real legimate pain and iam here just saying my truth. drove bus hurt my back, then got in a T-bone on passenger side and the Volvo station saved my life as well as the seatbelt. 1999 I hurt my back, car crash broke my neck, 6 months later another T-boned and waited a year for surgery because of fear and have partial paralysis on my left arm. I have dealt with extreme nerve, bone and muscle pain on a daily basis, physical pain through the years and emotional. They are connected. My three children took care of me. Can you say your children would?!! I ended up staying in community college no matter what, I had gotten loans and financial aid, and sometimes a part time job. I have paid back half of my student loan debt to have added interest through 30 years keeping me hostage to not the best credit. Then Campfire Wildfire I lost my home, my wife. It was for the best thou. Asking my higher power for clarity now which direction to go. My journey has been long and Iam tired and wish for more joy, love, great friends, all the good stuff. Iam willing to be receptive to it all. I hadnt done in the past. I was told we take care of our own. I didn't ask for help. I learned to. I wish you were around back then because Iam having a hard time with my credit and getting my financial life back still to this day. Iam 54 years old. In May will be an elder at 55 years old. I wish for Peace, harmony, love, with a future that is bright with happiness. Because with my life story, there must be a reason God has me here. So, Iam reaching out here for the last year. Today, my neck prosthetic is deteriorating Iam eligible for surgery and I dont want to do it. Instead, physically therapy and bands to strengthen the upper body, stretches, heat etc. I just want peace, joy and love with real people for the rest of my days. Iam not putting up with bs and taking more risks. I guard my inner peace and Iam extremely lonely and done with it all God.

This speaks to me so much. I am struggling with severe pain from 2 compound fractures in my thoracic spine, while still working as a massage therapist which is a very body strenuous job. After fighting for 8 years to get treatment, I finally found a Dr. to prescribe a medication to help. But even with my insurance, my co-pay is over $1,280 for a 30 day supply. There was no decision to make, I don’t have the money. I’m struggling with trying to care for my 2 grandsons while my son gets back on his feet after a horrendous year, in which his wife just abandoned him & their sons. I don’t currently have debt because I refused treatment. My daughter is struggling with $350 a month payments for a hospital visit in 2021. Healthcare in this country sucks for the lower, middle struggling to put food on the table but don’t qualify for help.

❤❤THANK YOU for bringing awareness of medical debt to the masses.
My daughter is in the middle of bankruptcy because her insurance decided after
her hysterectomy, she didn’t “qualify” for coverage of this procedure…crazy huh?
My daughter is BRCA positive and type 1 diabetic. She inherited BRCA from me.
I am a Triple Negative breast cancer survivor.
My only sister BRCA positive. She had bile duct/pancreatic cancer.
Our only brother, BRCA positive. He had melanoma cancer.
Stats show having a hysterectomy reduces a woman’s chance
of ovarian/uterine cancer by more than 70%, and breast cancer too.
This surgery was highly recommended by her doctors due to family history.
Now years later someone bought her debt and started wage garnishment
of $400 each paycheck! Her family cannot survive this money being taken.
She had no choice but to file for bankruptcy - Just to maintain a roof over their heads!
America’s health insurance has the power to deny coverage and DESTROY lives and they do it daily!

The US needs to get a proper health program in place because as diseases run rampant there will be a rapid decline in the population. Proper health care means a decline in the homeless population and drug abusers.

My heart hurts for this young man losing his wife at such a young age. Being an ovarian cancer survivor, I feel so blessed mine was caught at stage 2B. Although I went through a year of hell, I’m one of the lucky ones who came out on the other side cancer free and I’m grateful for every day. I was also fortunate to have good insurance, so had very little debt. Having to weigh the option of treatment due to lack of funds, or even for medication is simply ludicrous in the USA. God Bless this young man for changing so many lives💞
