no, it was probably digitised/ported from the Amiga.. it if had been created from scratch on the C64 I would imagine it would look more polished around the edges.
still mighty impressive they managed to pack all that into about 400kb compressed and as crisp & fluent as it is, then. if storage isn't a problem maybe these types of conversions actually make more sense, as long as they can get the player's sprite to some level of a blittable interactive entity.
It looks like it is using the high-resolution bitmap mode that allows 2 arbitrary colors per character cell. It's still impressive if they were able to pull this off without a memory expansion.
This is obviously a direct conversion with no cleaning up or colour correction. It could have been a lot more impressive if that cleaning up and colour correction had been done. As impressive as this may seem for a C64, there are other even better cut scene animations people have done which are better than this because they were touched up afterwards.
Amazing . Goes to show that the C64 was capable of producing games like this .
Nope. Its posdible today because all the work can be done very fast using modern technology.
That's unbelievable. I hope the game will be released in the near future.
Incredible! Here's hoping they somehow make the full game for C64, not only intro! :)
Might be able to do it as a cartridge / cart image
I would say this game is doable, and there does seem to be a ton of games coming out the last few years.
No way was this done on a Bread Bin - stunning, so close to the original

This is so cool!! If Another World is possible then Flashback MUST be next!!
The best intro i've ever seen in life ! incredible !
I have seen some better ones, more polished.
If you saw it at a certain age, it surely changed something in you. I know it did in me.
mind blowing for an 8bit micro ... Hokuto Force has done wonders with this amazing
Thanks for sharing and leaving the link ;)

I heard back in the day always from Amiganer that this would not be possible on a C64.
But all the new productions proved them wrong.
Phenomenal Intro.
I wonder if the C64 would have handled this resolution, especially on the computer fonts on the screen; Wonderful work!
"HiRes mode generates a screen with resolution 320*200 pixels/16 colors", about the same resolution as the Amiga for this games, so, yes.
...and it runs o 1MHz and 64k?
Juste sublime !!!
Hokuto FTW !!
Thanx
Great intro! Looking forward for the demake!
amazing job! needless to say, I suppose this is all bitmap graphics, where amiga game is made of polygons.
Can this be dl from another site and the one in the description not loading
Wow, that looks better than the Sega Genesis version!
Holly crap ! Awesome.
Impressive!!!
What a great game it is!
Dit is ongelooflijk!!!
holy crap this is insane, is this for PAL or NTSC?
Well impressed!
Wow! Never knew it had a release on commodore 0: on how many discs did it come? XD
Great!
Fantastic looking! Great job. I suppose it doesn't run on a stock 64? What configuration did you use?
100% stock 64, but you need an easyflash.
WOW!
Hell, I am expecting to see CS on C= next
oh mein got
Does this run on the pi, sd2iec?
Awesome!!
Amazing!
Flashback would be even cooler.

So whats the status of this?
Did some serious work here! :-)
Damn guys
Is this real ? Doesnt look like c64 to me.
I mean just take a look at the resolution itself : )
The resolution is too high for this to be real. No way this is a C64.
Majikeyric is best --> see also VIC 20 creations. Cheers!
Very well done!!!
Just the sound is out of sync.
For c64????
is it the full game?
There really are no limits as to what you can do on a C64.
There are some
Well, you can't get rootkits, spyware, corrupted operating systems, password stealers...

this is C64.
@@Twistedwolf-ru2qk I know, it says so in the title...
A poor conversion? 😒 any video's available of your unfinished Flashback?
@@perihelion7445 nope, I got rid of all my commodore stuff many years ago, long before youtube existed
@@RussMichaels
Well that can't be good ☹
WOW !!!!
