I played this show with a pit band last year. I loved every second of it, being my first time in the pit, and I am so happy that there is a Barbershop version out there! Amazing job!
what a hit to my nostalgia. my early music days saw a lot of singing the sound of music with my friend that introduced me to barbershop. when we saw this video a few years ago, we already knew we’d love it. out of the sound of music arrangements i have listened to, after hours presented a most unique and brilliant rendition of it. the energy fluctuates excellently and fluidly throughout the chart, which is more than i could ever ask for.
One of the most emotional experiences I ever had was listening to this song for the first time while also driving to the bathroom as fast as possible to make it to the bathroom
Well, that's a story lol
Did you make it?
Dan from 1:35 - 1:50 is phenomenal. Just like a baritone, his high range is beautiful.
4:03 Bryan's A natural on "sound" is the single best note of the whole convention
That chord on "mus" at 4:05 is just...
*chills* EVERY time.
They are an impressive quartet -- and very educated. All four have their Master's in music, Dan has a Doctorate -- I believe Bryan also is a doctor, but I could be wrong.
0:15 MOTHER OF GOD THE BASSSSSSS
so glad they posted these
I got chills! Amazing!
Loved it! Beautiful singing guys.
That was amazing!!!!
Damn good lead and a hell of a base. Man that's 🔥🔥🔥
OMG - The Tag!!!!!
Holy crap the overtone during that tag
How about Dan’s ridiculous low D at 0:15? Absolutely insane
That ridiculous low D is absolutely insane.
Logan Green - yeah I know, pretty insane huh
and ridiculous also
Frak - it’s about 10% insane and 90% ridiculous
Not just a low D, but an IN TUNE D. I can hit low B's but having solid sustain at that level is impressive
Really really wanted NF4 to win this one, but fuck me I guess After Hours did deserve winning
Can I please sing Soprano for them in a quintet xD
the base part is so much dominant. you dont feel the others, the base somehow becomes annoying when they harmonize. the base man should not be so near from the condenser mic.
You’re so, so wrong. This is so ridiculously well balanced and musical it’s actually mind boggling. Dan Wessler is a god
@@treesarecool12345678 I've thought the same as the OP, can you help me understand further why this is really great balance? They are such fantastic singers, just curious about this. Is it because such a fantastic bass is so rare?
