Sugita is such an embodiment of the type of character that goofs off all the time but he's always capable of sitting down and listen. I love it every time he does this.
Man, he gave that advice with such charm. He answers really earnestly but also mixes in such natural impersonation humor. Gintoki has to be his greatest role, because the character also has that kind of humorous wisdom. Reminds me of Craig Ferguson.
For me a good seiyuu is either someone who has an insane voice range, where it is kinda difficult to guess who seiyuu played that character because he sounds different or they have to have a good, beautiful and unique characteristic voice. I guess it can't be helped if rookies seiyuus tries to imitate a popular voice, but I don't mind that until they find their own characteristic voice.

These are the kind of videos I like to watch of veterans giving advice to the youngsters. And in spite of the goofy image Sugita has I always knew that it's not his true self. He's really good at giving advice and listening to the worries of others. Thank you Sugita san for being such a wonderful person ❤
That's true. I was first interested from her performance as Jess in Butareba and after looking it up I was very surprised to find her in a bunch of other anime voicing a wide range of character archetypes (especially Makima haha). I think that her normal voice is a lot less recognizable than more famous seiyuu, which makes me that much more impressed she can do different types of voices so well. Typically seiyuus end up voicing a lot of the same archetype, simply because their normal voice matches that archetype. For example: Hanakana -> cute & bubbly Hayamin -> elegant Sawashiro -> mature And they have very recognizable voices. If they act outside of their archetype, it doesn't fit quite as well and I am still able to recognize it, which kind of breaks immersion. It may be good to have people recognize you and raise your fanbase, but as Sugibro points out, the purpose of good voice acting is to immerse the viewer in the show. So in fact people not recognizing your voice means you are actually doing a good job... perhaps too good of a job 🤣 But anyways, I am now a Tomoriru fan 👍
He's weird but always honest to himself even though he always got some bad comment and experience he always make it to be good and inspired other seiyuu in this industry with good energy, this is whi i always love and respect Tomokazu Sugita
Sugita-san is like physical embodiment of all the iconic anime senseis Jiraiya, kakashi, aizawa, gojo etc My guy is always the butt of the joke and constantly being sus, but is most of the time the wisest and smartest person in the room And its so cool to see him passing on his knowledge to fledgelings like tomoriru. Obviously this happens all the time but its not something we as a third party gets to see very often
Sugita is that weird single as fook and very cultured uncle in the family that derp around 99% of the time, but will always be there if you ask for advice and will actually helps when it comes to that.
