I think that Kajita-san is onto something with the comedian thing. The three of them (Nakamura, Sugita, Shimono) seem like the biggest dorks in the best way. 😂
I love the Sugita-Shimono-Nakamura combi. All of them are my favourite and have great kazoku chemistry. I apologize Nakamura-san I will try to add -san from now on. But it's true that, it's because of who you are as a person that you get called without a -san. (Never thought he had this sensitive side).
I also want to know how Miyano-san became "Mamo-chan" to everyone, because I rarely hear "chan" used consistently when seiyuus are talking to each other (unless I just haven't watched enough).
I love japanese and their unique way of name calling. Using only surname or first name, adding honorifics, and using nicknames really makes a difference in how one view someone else and such. It's so complicated but interesting at the same time. It kind of makes their name really special depending on how or who calls them. Thank you for subbing this video! Now I learn even more about this name-calling stuff!
Aside from OnoD I've been referring to all of them just by last names on their own .. I don't mean disrespect of course, I'm just lazy! Of course if I met any of them in real life I'd use "-san" ... if I didn't faint first lol
But I think, for us, international fans, we often call them by nickname. So, I feel a little guilty because I call him Yukyan and Sugitan :( But this is so interesting topic, I never think about the way I call them. So from now, I'll try call them using honorific :) Thank youuu for the sub
😂😂 right! That nickname is my favourite for Nakamura-san. I imagine if he ever hears someone refer to him as "Yuukyan" he would be like "😠😠 WHO ARE YOU CALLING YUUKYAN!?!?" Lmao
ahaha me too 😂. Usually I call seiyuu name without honorific 😂 . In overseas I think it's common happened because it has a 'different culture' so I think it's okay call him without honorific but but BUT IT'S WROOONG , It's a sensitive matter 😂😂 deepest in my heart, I'm sorry 😂 next time I will use honorific 🙏
I remember a time in Tokyo Encounter that Nakamura told Yuuki Aoi "What am I? Your friend?". It's in jest of course.... I think. Edit: I found the part. It's in Episode 15 of the first season of Tokyo Encounter. About halfway into the show, while they were talking about Mario Party.
In BuluRaji, Sugita is shown to dislike nicknames for himself. They initially tried to call him Tomo-kun from episode 2 onwards, but it never stuck because he would give them (Imai and Kondou) the cold shoulder. Discussed later in BuluRaji D episode 5, where the girls (Sugita was absent that episode) discussed about giving them a different nickname, they ended up with "Guy". But they were afraid he wouldn't like it either. Of course, it didn't stuck. And that's the guy who gave them the nicknames Imajin and Kondom since episode 1.
I always attach the honorifics when referring to the seiyuus cuz they're older than me. then comes the younger gen seiyuus.... idc if you're older a few months or younger a few months, if you're born the same year as me I will still add kun to your name😂😂😂 but Mamo-chan will always be my Mamo-chan.
Oh my this is so true lmao I call them Sugita and Nakamura without -san, Kaji-kun Okamoto-kun and Suzu XDD It's Shimono-san for me though! (...Sometimes I call him Shimono when he's doing some stupid things lol)
Hahaha, Nakamura-san knows us so well. I am as guilty of this as he says. T___T I also call Suzumura-san as Suzu, because it's cute. We used to call Sakurai and Suzumura just Saku-Suzu combi, haha. Over the years, Sakurai has developed into more of older man image, which is why he's most likely referred to with -san. As for Nakamura, Sugita, and Shimono, yeah, those three have a more casual aura about them, it's like a bro-aura where it feels natural to use yobisute. The ones who I use -kun are the male seiyuu with a younger image, and I can't seem to stop calling Kaji-kun even though he got married and should be an adult, lol. As for Okamoto, I call him Shikorin, lol, which is probably the most offensive nickname of all of them. OnoD, HiroC, and Mamo-chan are all established nicknames, so those are a given.
I just realized I do call them Kaji kun and okamoto kun even if they’re over 10 years older than me that’s weird…maybe it’s bc of events and stuff everyone calls them kun and it just stuck
滝昇taki-noboru Oh hey, I have seen your music related stuff! Its really good! Also saw there you love Eupho, my second favorite :) Didn't know you were also into Seiyuu :)
OMG, yes!!!! I have always considered Yuichi one of my absolute favorites in all of voice acting. From Tomoya Okazaki, to Hashimoto as you mentioned, to Houtarou Oreki to even N from Pocket Monsters...he somehow manages to be in every other anime I watch, its just amazing how well his voice suits the anime protagonist. My favorite is definitely Oreki for how well he pulls off the detached but caring MC, but Karamatsu I loved how he was pretty much second banana to Takahiro Sakurai's character. Hearing Takahiro in Eupho as Noboru just reminded me of how awesome his voice is. Hearing anything from Cloud Strife is more than enough to remind me! Another one of my absolute favorites. Yeah seriously, I always wanted to comment reply to you to tell you how I appreciate your love of Eupho and the effort in your covers, but admittedly I was always sorta nervous. ;)
OMG thank you! you're so kind :) I just cover eupho songs on piano to relieve stress but i'm so happy you like them!! :) Also the more you learn about Nakamura the more lovable he seems. Like his soft spot for cats, and his tsundere personality, and his compulsive need to click pens... The man is an absolute marshmallow!
滝昇taki-noboru Hey, its my pleasure! If I see or listen to something I enjoyed, I always like to let the other know. Its the little things, ya know? But yeah, it is great you have such a creative and expansive outlet such as music! It along with Eupho being my second favorite honestly been making me reconsider coming back to practicing either guitar or piano again. Oh, those kinda discoveries, hehe. I can certainly relate...that first Shoujo Ai cd featuring both Mamiko Noto and Ayako Kawasumi (star voice of the great music anime Nodame Cantabile) was certainly a big surprise, haha. Combined with the medium of visual novels as a whole, and I certainly have my own hands full with great voices :) Oh man, yes Yuichi is quite a cool guy from what I have seen of him! For someone his age, he is definitely just a very easygoing guy. Just like his best friend Tomokazu Sugita, who is hysterical :). If you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely watch their show, Tokyo Encounter where they basically LP games with the guest here and there. Its hillarious stuff! Ah, seiyuus are the G, aren't they? Once I become fluent in Japanese one day, I look forward to listening all those radio shows. But for now, I am happy to have stuff like the subreddit for Seiyuus. And if youre wondering, my absolute favorite Seiyuu are Minako Kotobuki (Asuka Tanaka....my favorite from that show), Hikaru Midorikawa (Marth), Haruka Tomatsu (Haru), Houko Kuwashima (Tomoyo) and Kouichi Yamadera (Sukeroku).
I tend to call a seiyuu whatever I've heard them called most often. So I'll say 'Kaji-kun' but I'll also say 'Shimono-san'. And 'Kaito-kun' but 'Ayu'. Maybe I've just heard Sugita-san and Nakamura-san talked about without honorifics too often. It also doesn't come naturally to me since I'm not Japanese. But I do try to remember when talking about people online.
It's because most people feel like they're emotionally closer to Sugita Tomokazu and Nakamura Yuuichi than the others. Like they're friends. So casual speech seems natural. The vibes that these two give is that of a friend you'd hang out with.
This is very surreal to listen to (read) when you aren't from japan. It feels really weird since there is nothing like honorifics in any of the three languages I speak. I guess there is formal / informal speak but it is never as serious as honorifics seems to be for japanese people. Of course I respect it, it just seems weird when you're from another country haha
yeah.. japan have a really complicated way of honorific.. while in western is just first name/last name basis with added mr./ms but we here is SEAsia.. we just called by our given name which really easier lol
I always called Shimono Hiro as Shimono-san because how I respect him from the bottom of my heart... Other seiyuu... I just call them by their full name... Cuz i respect them but not as much as Shimono-san...
At first I thought they don't add -san to Nakamura-san was because of the extra syllabus but they mentioned Sugita and Shimono... Why don't they all get nicknames btw..
Because people give him yobisute treatment but when it comes to other seiyuus, in this case the younger ones (Kaji-kun Okamoto-kun), people add -kun, which is somehow more... polite? Yobisute is too casual and friendly XD
im sorry yuuky- i mean, nakamura-san for calling you without honorifics. but one thing I want you to know that, with or without honorifics, I still respect you with everything I got ;_;
this is really interesting to watch. Thank you for subbing this! So do I have to use Fukuyama-san when I have to talk about him then? lol I've always called him FukuJun or just Fukuyama sometimes. is he the type to mind about this stuff like Nakamura... i mean Nakamura-san tho? lol
i call some with the honorifics 'sa' and 'kun' like Kamiya- san, Ono-san and Kaji- kun Natsuki-kun. but when i address they're first name i don't use any or i use 'chan' because it cute
This one is just too funny XD To find the other one is pretty hard since in order to find him you'd have to look for a seiyuu that doesn't have a nickname (Umechan, Hosoyan, Souma-kun etc.) Does anybody called Hanae as Hanae-kun or san XD?
I agree, even though it's kind of ironic- honorifics/titles normally give distance and is similar to Mr/Miss in English, but san/kun sounds more friendly than saying their surnames only.
its probably a vocational school.. like seiyuu/anime/manga have their own school/class specialised on that matter not like normal public/private school
As an Asian, I totally understand the feeling. It's not like rage inducing thing to do, like if they did it you'll have the right to punch them in the face, but more like "ah, this bltch" kind of feeling. I was kind of delinquent back in the day and I never used honorifics towards my teachers except the ones that truly respect. Even my buddies that is definitely tougher than me said "Use 'sensei' punk" (not really the exact word for honorifics in my language but it's pretty dang on point) or something along the lines. Those few teachers that I respect though, if someone calling them without "sensei" I'll hit them without a second thought.
I think the cuter/hoter and younger a male seiyuu, the more likely they will be called with honorifics. The older and uglier and funnier you are, the more likely you will be called without it.
I blame the slipper incident for people calling Kaji "Kaji-kun"
slippar-yaro haha
If Sawashiro Miyuki calls you something its going to stick.
I'm trying to remember how she calls Miyano.
I remember him as Kaji-kyun though
...What’s the slipper incident?
the photos you chose really fits his feeling of being annoyed in this radio episode HAHAHA
Mizuki is from the same generation, but she's generally called Nana-chan.
Nana-san though is a very high esteemed singer and actress. Although she's a dork (I love her theater plays
I also want to know how Miyano-san became "Mamo-chan" to everyone, because I rarely hear "chan" used consistently when seiyuus are talking to each other (unless I just haven't watched enough).
Actually, I heard a lot of male seiyuus called him Mamo-chan in their seiyuus event. Maybe that the reason why Fans also called him like that.
sometimes i would call him mamo chan because he call himself like that lol
@@ikutoaruo they also call him miyano san tho
I love japanese and their unique way of name calling. Using only surname or first name, adding honorifics, and using nicknames really makes a difference in how one view someone else and such. Now I learn even more about this name-calling stuff!
OMG thanks for the translated tantrum of Nakamura...-san XD
5:31 bEst trio combo
S-N-S
That's weird...I just realized that I always say "Nakamura Yuuichi" for some reason
Aside from OnoD I've been referring to all of them just by last names on their own .. I don't mean disrespect of course, I'm just lazy! Of course if I met any of them in real life I'd use "-san" ... if I didn't faint first lol
OnoD, OnoY and OnoK...
But I think, for us, international fans, we often call them by nickname. So, I feel a little guilty because I call him Yukyan and Sugitan :( But this is so interesting topic, I never think about the way I call them. So from now, I'll try call them using honorific :) Thank youuu for the sub
Isn't that because they are so close and call one and another yobisute so often, that it sticks to the listeners and fans?
Nakamura will get an aneurysm if he hears that fans also call him "YuuKyan" lol Also, I'm sure Suzumura is actually SuzuKen, not just Suzu lol
In overseas I think it's common happened because it has a 'different culture' so I think it's okay call him without honorific but but BUT IT'S WROOONG , It's a sensitive matter 😂😂
deepest in my heart, I'm sorry 😂
next time I will use honorific 🙏
Hahahahahak annoyed nakamura is adorable skkfkskfks
thank you for translating this (◍•ᴗ•◍)
The only way to address kaji yuuki is kaji san⤴️
I remember a time in Tokyo Encounter that Nakamura told Yuuki Aoi "What am I? Your friend?". It's in jest of course.... I think.
Edit: I found the part. It's in Episode 15 of the first season of Tokyo Encounter. About halfway into the show, while they were talking about Mario Party.
remember yuuki aoi called him chuu san
The effort definitely deserves a sub
maybe... maybe I should start address them as Yuuchan and Tomochan :'D
Thank you very much for the translation by the way!!
In BuluRaji, Sugita is shown to dislike nicknames for himself. They initially tried to call him Tomo-kun from episode 2 onwards, but it never stuck because he would give them (Imai and Kondou) the cold shoulder. Is it just me or do Nakamura-san and Sugita-san's photo in 4:06 make them look like an old married couple lmao
It's "Nakamura" and "Sugita" because they seem so easy to relate to.
But if he prefers I will call him -san.
Nakamura & Sugita has nicknames in seiyuu industry!!
it's YOUKYAN & SUGITAN! how can not they know that????
From now on, I will be more conscious about honorifics, Nakamura-san!
I’ve been calling them Noburin, Mamo-chan and FukuJun for months, because they’re my favorites, should I feel guilty about it? Haha
I just realized I do call them Kaji kun and okamoto kun even if they’re over 10 years older than me that’s weird…maybe it’s bc of events and stuff everyone calls them kun and it just stuck
I feel pERSONALLY ATTACKED
滝昇taki-noboru
Oh hey, I have seen your music related stuff! Its really good! Also saw there you love Eupho, my second favorite :)
Didn't know you were also into Seiyuu :)
Thank you!! :D Yeah I love Nakamura because he voiced Hashimoto in Hibike :) Then I found out he also voiced Karamatsu and I was hooked!

*inhales* NAKAMURAAAA!!!
All people should call him onii-sama!
Lol I feel bad now.... I'll go with Nakamura chin from now on
I call them by their nicknames 😵
imma practice myself to add -san, -kun ~

Hi (uncultured swine here), but can someone please explain to me why Nakamura-san got annoyed with the -kun honorific?
Timestamp around 3:40
Because people give him yobisute treatment but when it comes to other seiyuus, in this case the younger ones (Kaji-kun Okamoto-kun), people add -kun, which is somehow more... polite? Yobisute is too casual and friendly XD
Agus Mudji I see. Thank you for replying and helping me to understand! I really appreciate it
im sorry yuuky- i mean, nakamura-san for calling you without honorifics. but one thing I want you to know that, with or without honorifics, I still respect you with everything I got ;_;
Honestly idk about honorifics that well so I will probably just revert to using English honorifics like Mr Miss etc.
well i noticed he wasn't just indignant for himself eh?, sugibro should always be included eh? LOL,.
this is really interesting to watch. Thank you for subbing this! So do I have to use Fukuyama-san when I have to talk about him then? lol I've always called him FukuJun or just Fukuyama sometimes. is he the type to mind about this stuff like Nakamura... i mean Nakamura-san tho? lol
cypher tongue I was wondering the same, because he’s one of my favorite seiyuus
theu didnt put san in to shimono name because some fans call him shimonnu
i call some with the honorifics 'sa' and 'kun' like Kamiya- san, Ono-san and Kaji- kun Natsuki-kun. but when i address they're first name i don't use any or i use 'chan' because it cute
6:51 that felt like a reference to the chinese pop singers.
Yasumoto Hiroki Is just Yasumoto-san, right?, I think i need to make a list of nicknames from now on.
Claudia Montaña -sometimes known as Angen-kun-
But it's real tho, I unconsciously called kaji yuki as kaji-kun and nakamura yuuichi just nakamura on my daily life 😂
This one is just too funny XD
To find the other one is pretty hard since in order to find him you'd have to look for a seiyuu that doesn't have a nickname (Umechan, Hosoyan, Souma-kun etc.)
Does anybody called Hanae as Hanae-kun or san XD?
I have a feeling most of the younger ones have -kun attached to them xD I think of him as 'Hanae-kun'
Yes, that's what i figure as well,
I think if you're looking for someone who don't get called with a honorifics it tends to be the older ones XD
I rarely put -san on sugita and nakamura 😅
I call them without honorifics because adding -san makes it seem like I meet them daily and that feels....wrong.
I agree, even though it's kind of ironic- honorifics/titles normally give distance and is similar to Mr/Miss in English, but san/kun sounds more friendly than saying their surnames only.
It's not about being friendly but about not being rude
What school are they talking about
its probably a vocational school.. like seiyuu/anime/manga have their own school/class specialised on that matter not like normal public/private school
サツッピミク lol thx it’s been so long that I had to rewatch what I was asking bab out
Gin-san
what the name of this show??
it's in the description, "Star Raji Ocean"
that was hilarious
OMG when he mentioned maaya XD
it's always nakabro and sugibro for me
しもんぬはしもんぬだな
中村くんはゆうきゃんでしょ?杉田は
杉田だな(笑)

Huh i though Oni-sama is nakamura san nickname
