i had this keyboard for years, i sold it a few years ago due to a dim display going bad and i could not get a replacement at a reasonable price. made a lot of money along with a korg i5s for years with it. i saw on ebay one listed for 499. i bought mine from sam ash for 249.00 about around 20 years ago. kinda miss it. so it seems to hold its value.
I bought this keyboard from the fleamarket in FLorida and brought it home to the deep freeze of the north and I never did get to hear it play. It had something wrong with the power supply section so I sold it in parts. I have everything except the display and mainboard which I sold rather quickly for more than I paid for the whole thing! Yep! It sounds like a PSR530 or somesuch. but with a bigger display is all. It is nice, just not missed..
Hi Glynn interesting piece of gear. I am surprised at the sound quality esp. of the basses (did I hear the Pink Panther theme on acoustic bass somewhere?) and of the effect module. Quite frankly, this thing sounds better than some Tyros videos I have seen. Maybe due very good DAC quality or something? One thing sucks though, the styles, they feel completely outdated. Has this keyboard a style creator of some sorts to create more modern stuff? And: does it have an arpeggiator? No arp, no deal! 🙅♀️ Cheers 🍻
1. There is a style creator 2. Yeah its outdated because of current arranger keyboard's style ideas, after all, the keyboard is from 2001. 3. No arpeggiator 😂😂
Haha, I followed the same route: went from psr-1000 to pa-600. What bothered me with the psr-1000 is the lack of a modulation wheel. All the rest is pretty amazing.
Absolutely! It's an old keyboard with lots of contemporary features. Hello from Australia, I'm learning Dutch btw but I wouldn't dare try it in this public forum!
@@gearfacts Hello . Thanks for your response. I did not buy the PSR 1000, it was not in good condition. I have now bought a Yamaha SX 700 in a store with a one-year warranty. Learning the Dutch language is something I have great respect for. Next year message in Dutch? 🙂👍
Hey Sir, just found your video. So I'm using this keyboard and I just bought the M1 Macbook Pro, I do have the old USB cable as well and I can't find any way to connect it as a MIDI to the Logic Pro. Can you please tell me a way to do it?

Thanks for watching my videos :) This is a common problem and a tricky one to fix. The best chance is going inside, pulling out the ribbon wire that goes to the display, and thoroughly cleaning both ends if you can. Sometimes that can help, sometimes it does nothing at all :/
@@gearfacts It's a lot better than I can do without a sequencer or using arpeggiators! I could pull off something like Rush - Subdivisions, but that's about the extent of my fingers tickling the ivories. :)
What a keyboard it was in early 2000's!!! I love the strings in this model
It was the golden age of the XG sound processor! It seemed so professional and slick at the time. Still holds up pretty well :)

I was using it from 2002 to 2014 in Kerala. When I was looking for an upgrade I find none...then I brought korgpa600.

Yep, you need to buy a MIDI to USB interface. They start from about $10 on ebay.
@@gearfacts that’s great. So with an audio interface it won’t be any problem to use with Logic Pro. Is that right sir?
@@erfannazarian should be fine
Where can I get just the tones, like a plugin or something?...I really enjoy the old cheesey sounds.
Not sure, maybe see if there's anything on Yamaha's website or a facebook group about plug-ins. I don't really use computers.
is this model still manufacture? I had one sold it out and I want it back so much
Yeah they don't make it anymore, but they appear in second-hand markets sometimes.
Would you recommend this for entry level music producing?
Yes
Can i know how to record the music and how to export it to my phone?
Hi Great video How does this differ from the psr 1100 and 2000. I use a 2000 for make bass and drum tracks is the 1000 similar for this task
Yes it’s quite similar, both use the XG sound engine.
Does it have sensitivity features in keys? Like levels of sensitivity idk what is it called.
Yes I think it had three sensitivity levels
