One of my favorite bands these days. Their style is a little more varied than some of their contemporaries. From what I've read, all of them were previously in other bands before this one, so they all came with experience. The singer is Mayu; she's incredible. They sometimes use English in their songs, but it's not always that easy to understand, due to Japanese pure vowels, vocal distortion, etc. I feel like I'm less familiar with this song than most of theirs. I'd recommend 'Dissension', 'Zen', 'Adabana', 'Ama-Te-Ras', 'Night Flight', and 'Odyssey'(a ballad). They also have some covers, like Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' and System of a Down's 'Sugar'.
They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Possibly my favorite band anywhere in the world. They are extremely diverse, so one song isn’t necessarily representative of Nemophila. Keep reacting and enjoy the journey.
Nemophila is one of the best bands around today. They have a preference for hard and metal, but they do it all. They have approx. 20 original songs that all are bangers in one way or another. The softest is Life that is about the band welcoming the drummer back from maternal leave, lots of joy and crying. On the other end of the scale we have Zen with almost no clean singing. Oiran is a good start. It is one of their better songs. One thing that you shall not miss is that they love to make covers. They record them mainly in the drummers rehearsal studio, but they also have covid version where they are at different locations. They are very, very good. They are mostly rock and mostly without screaming. But there are exceptions. NOTE - they are no cover band. I have never heard of that they have been doing cover tours. There might be one or two covers on a show maybe.

Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila. 'Ama-Te-Ras' is a quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well Thanks for reacting to this amazing group!
Hi , Nemophila ( in this video ) are a 5 piece band - vocalist , drummer , bassist and two lead guitars . Sadly for the past few months they have been a 4 piece as one of the guitarists left the band . Well worth doing more of their stuff - they're very versatile as you'll find out if you for example do " Zen " followed by " Odyssey " ENJOY !
Its a bit of an optical illusion with their name. 99% of the time people (me included) call them nemophil"IA" but its just an A at the end. Nemophila is a blue and white flower that grows in massive fields at the Hitachi Seaside Park north east of Tokyo. It's something to see. try their first ever music video called RATEI for a look at the band early on. Saki the guitarist on the right has left recently doing her own stuff now. The band as a 4 piece are 100% still pretty hard with extra bass and sometimes the lead singer Mayu playing guitar replacing Saki's sound. Saki's other band on hiatus atm is called Marys Blood. Try their song Marionette. Guitar heaven.
Nemophila are pure win! Lots of other great songs from them for you to react to. But even better is how big this Japanese all women / women fronted / women containing metal / rock / punk band rabbit hole is. I would say broadly there are the big 5, of which you have already discovered 2. - Band-Maid (the least metal and most rock of the 5) - Nemophila (the happiest of the 5, and pretty damned technically skilled) The other three are; - Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath live (the highest technically skilled of the 5) - Hanabie - We Love Sweets mv (Kinda the Japanese women electric callboy, ish) - Babymetal - Megitsune (the most famous of the 5) These descriptors are a bit factual and a bit matter of opinion, but it gives some idea. ----- But there are PLENTY of others with decent fan bases that are also great. Of those I think the next 5 below tend to create the best reactions because they are the most unexpected. The 5th one below, Ladybaby, is a band with both Japanese women idols, and an Australian Wrestler. - Maximum The Hormone - Yoshu Fukushu mv (their drummer inspired both the drummer of Band-Maid and Nemophila to take up / focus on drumming. Hanabie started as a cover band of these guys) - Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday mv (one of my favourite bands of all time, ridiculous energy) - Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire mv(all ridiculous energy, and hardcore punk as hell) - Passcode - Taking You Out mv - Ladybaby - Nippon Manju mv (the Japanese idols and Australian wrestler combo) ---- - Aldious - Go Away mv - Fate Gear - Battle Against Justice mv - Gacharic Spin - I Wish I mv - Unlucky Morpheus - Angreifer live - Mellows - Closet mv - Bridear - Still Burning mv - Mary's Blood - Marionette mv - Mardelas - Patriot Anthem mv - Trident - Kick Ass mv - Show Ya - Fairy dvd version - Gallhammer - Blind My Eyes live (ruin of a church) This is not an exhaustive list so these are kinda cream of the crop from my point of view. Every single one is worth a watch / listen, but those top 5, and then next 5, even more so than the others.
Thank you so much for all the amazing info and suggestions. That was really helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to leave such thoughtful info. I will check our your suggestions.
You still haven’t checked out NEMOPHILIA. But you did just hear NEMOPHILA’s best song. Try the ADABANA music video next; you’ll hear a very different sound. Take a look also at these other heavy, all-female, Japanese bands. Here’s a recommended song for each: BAND-MAID, DOMINATION, live, 2020. LOVEBITES, THE HAMMER OF WRATH, 2023. GACHARIC SPIN, MINDSET, OMV (save the live video for later). HANABIE (pr. “Ha-Na-Bee-Eh”), WE LOVE SWEETS, OMV.
I Suggest "Rise" or "Adabana"... If you're looking for Live, you may want to checkout "Orian" or "AMA-TE-RAS".. There are many, many more... hopefully this will get you started.
I discovered NEMOPHILA when I heard that the legendary and still active Japanese band SHOW-YA is the older sister of the band. I have always been a fan of ‘LOVEBITES’, but I can shake my head more at ‘NEMOPHILA’. The first time I saw NEMOPHILA play, I was impressed by their cover of ‘KURENAI’ by ‘X-JAPAN’. I'll put the URL on it later, but I was astonished by the wonderful technique and all the members have the highest class of technique. Next I heard ‘NEMOPHILA / REVIVE [Official Live Video] @HOUSE OF BLUES ANAHEIM (SAN DIEGO, CA)’ and it was great, young and old were shaking their heads together. KURENAI Cover.’ th-cam.com/video/Bd3Ss30FZjg/w-d-xo.html ‘NEMOPHILA / REVIVE [Official Live Video] @HOUSE OF BLUES ANAHEIM (SAN DIEGO, CA)’ th-cam.com/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/w-d-xo.html 「KURENAI Cover」 th-cam.com/video/Bd3Ss30FZjg/w-d-xo.html 「NEMOPHILA / REVIVE [Official Live Video] @HOUSE OF BLUES ANAHEIM (SAN DIEGO, CA)」 th-cam.com/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/w-d-xo.html
Japanese women have made metal and rock fun and interesting again. I'm done with scowling western machismo with its puerile, tedious drivel about wars, demons and corpses. This stuff is more positive and leaves one feeling happy and energised rather than depressed and apathetic. Nemophila is my favourite band but Japan has plenty more all-women or female-fronted bands who are at least the equals of their male counterparts in America or Europe: Hanabie, Aldious, Gacharic Spin, Bridear, Asterism, Band-Maid, KOIAI, Lovebites ...
Great reaction an appreciate your opened mind !! Nemophila is one of the best bands in the world ❤
One of my favorite bands these days.
Woew thanks. I'd love to hear their system of a down cover. I'll check that out. Thanks
They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
My favorite band, full stop. I've seen them several times, the most recent time being my first experience with the new quartet version here in Sapporo. Happy to report that they remain absolutely magical live...one of those very rare bands that you walk away from a performance thinking "I was just in the presence of greatness." Phenomenal chemistry and charisma, backed up by elite-tier musical chops...
While I agree that you can enjoy a band like this w/o understanding the lyrics, Nemophila (like many bands in this little niche: Japanese female metal/hard rock) have intelligent, uplifting lyrics that are worth checking out. They mix English and Japanese on a lot of songs. Harajukucore darlings Hanabie. in particular have rather pointed, socially-relevant lyrics that comment on modern realities for young Japanese women.
A couple bands you might enjoy from this scene:
Hagane: recently risen-from-the-ashes modern metal/powermetal quartet with super-shredder guitarist Sakura, under-rated bassist Sayaka, and TH-cam drum superstar Junna...along with an absolute rookie singer, Nagi, who despite it being her first band ever makes it clear why she was chosen (range, power, confidence...). Their first video with the new lineup, 天下五剣, is a banger.
icontinew: Something completely different! Innovative mix of proggy metal, glitchy electronica, and a dash of pop sensibility. Only three videos out so far, but the latest is 「ERROR」and it's outstanding. Guitarist Arisan breaks out of that boring cookie-cutter "Instagram shredder" thing and lays down some interesting Phrygian Dominant passages in a confident solo. Yeah, I'm a gigging guitarist, so I notice that stuff first. lol
Enjoy!
Amazing metal band from Japan! they are so talented with each skill (voice & instruments). Beautiful reaction, Swift ;)
🤘Love Nemophila!!!!🤘

Great reaction!....Nemophila (neh-moe-fee-la) is 🔥🔥🔥
Nemophila has a WIDE range of sound and style...here are some suggestions based on Mayu's lead vocals (cleans vs screams)
Cleans
Raitei (Live) th-cam.com/video/6aoghIEPOYc/w-d-xo.html
Seize the Fate (Live) th-cam.com/video/yyKGK1Se4bo/w-d-xo.html
Odyssey (MV) th-cam.com/video/J8RhjQpFf_Q/w-d-xo.html
Life (live) th-cam.com/video/CxmLOhDVoyw/w-d-xo.html
Cleans + Screams
Revive (Live) th-cam.com/video/t2eMoKvsvBE/w-d-xo.html
Rise (Live) th-cam.com/video/DaFN5J4iPLI/w-d-xo.html
Dissention (MV) th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html
Oiran (Live) th-cam.com/video/5qABnfChpbk/w-d-xo.html
Adabana (MV) th-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/w-d-xo.html
Ama-Te-Ras (Live) th-cam.com/video/96LQimRqJgM/w-d-xo.html
Screams
Zen (Live) th-cam.com/video/k1yPbBRHFms/w-d-xo.html
Most people start with Dissention (MV, Japanese ver.) or Revive (MV) and then Adabana (MV), Rise (MV), etc.
'Zen' (live), Oiran (live) and Dissention (MV) are some of their hardest and best songs
'Odyssey' is an incredible power ballad (80's style) and 'Live' is an emotional ballad-like song sung in the video as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) after her maternity leave. Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila.
'Ama-Te-Ras' is a quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well
Thanks for reacting to this amazing group!

Love Nemophila could you also do some Band Maid? 🍺😁🤘🏻
Amo a Nemophila, amo todo lo que hace,me encanta la baterista! Gracias por compartir y reaccionar a mi equipo favorito!
😎👌
"Style" is another great NEMO song.
Late to the party, but great reaction. Fun fact: Mayu (vocalist) and Tamu (drummer) are moms. Arigatou!
You would probably enjoy Band-Maid. Another all female Japanese hard rock band. Check out Real Existence official live video. Thanks, Po! 🕊️🎵🎶🎵🎶

I did see that when I was working on editing. Wasn't sure if I'd get round apart for mis-pronunciation. I just read it wrong. Thanks for clarifying.
Nemophila are pure win!
Lots of other great songs from them for you to react to.
But even better is how big this Japanese all women / women fronted / women containing metal / rock / punk band rabbit hole is.
I would say broadly there are the big 5, of which you have already discovered 2.
- Band-Maid (the least metal and most rock of the 5)

The other three are;
- Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath live (the highest technically skilled of the 5)
- Hanabie - We Love Sweets mv (Kinda the Japanese women electric callboy, ish)
- Babymetal - Megitsune (the most famous of the 5)
These descriptors are a bit factual and a bit matter of opinion, but it gives some idea.

But there are PLENTY of others with decent fan bases that are also great.
Hanabie started as a cover band of these guys)
- Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday mv (one of my favourite bands of all time, ridiculous energy)
- Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire mv(all ridiculous energy, and hardcore punk as hell)
- Passcode - Taking You Out mv
- Ladybaby - Nippon Manju mv (the Japanese idols and Australian wrestler combo)
----
- Aldious - Go Away mv

Thank you so much for all the amazing info and suggestions. That was really helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to leave such thoughtful info. I will check our your suggestions.
@@SwiftReactions You're welcome. Enjoy
You still haven’t checked out NEMOPHILIA. But you did just hear NEMOPHILA’s best song. Try the ADABANA music video next; you’ll hear a very different sound.
Take a look also at these other heavy, all-female, Japanese bands. Here’s a recommended song for each:
BAND-MAID, DOMINATION, live, 2020.
LOVEBITES, THE HAMMER OF WRATH, 2023.
GACHARIC SPIN, MINDSET, OMV (save the live video for later).
HANABIE (pr. “Ha-Na-Bee-Eh”), WE LOVE SWEETS, OMV.
Thank you.
Love Nemophila. Do more however let’s do more The Warning and Halestorm.
I have done the Warning. I love The Warning. I'll check out Halestorm and more Nemophila to come.
I Suggest "Rise" or "Adabana"... If you're looking for Live, you may want to checkout "Orian" or "AMA-TE-RAS".. There are many, many more... hopefully this will get you started.
🤘🇺🇦❤️🌸
Please check out BAND-MAID and their song REAL EXISTENCE (Official Live Video) 😆
Thanks. Will do 👍🍻🙏
I discovered NEMOPHILA when I heard that the legendary and still active Japanese band SHOW-YA is the older sister of the band.

If you're going to listen to just one Nemophila song for the rest of your life (no idea why anyone would do that, but still), Zen should be that song.
Noted. Thanks. I'll check that out.
You'll love it, it is my favorite Nemophila song, or at least one of my favorites, and the live version is awesome ❤🔥
NE-MO-FEE-LA, it's the Japanese pronunciation. Pronounced very differently in English.
Hello sntball. Emma Kok has a new song (dancing on the stars). Maybe you are willing to do a reaction to this one also.
Great idea Louis! I'll add it to my list. Thanks 🍻👋🇦🇺
