My understanding of the parable of the sheep and goats. Math 25:40... Jesus said to the sheep standing before him, "to the extent that you did it (the fine works) to the least of these MY BROTHERS you did it to me." Since watchtower claim that all the anointed will be in heaven by now, and out of sight of the sheep he is addressing, logically he is referring to these righteous ones he is talking to at this time as his brothers, presumably for the love they have shown to each other throughout their lives, regardless what culture or nationality they were born into. How could billions of people do good knowingly to someone they can't possibly recognise as essential to their eternal salvation?
When I was fading and read a comment about the sheep and goat not realising that what they did for 'the brethren' was done for Jesus I prayed 'let me be your sister so that all the lovely (mostly non-believers) that helped me during life's trials will be count among the sheep.
Firstly, the account of the sheep and the goats is NOT A PARABLE. Additionally, there is a parallel account of the sheep and the goats at Luke 14:14. Jesus told his disciples that when they prepared a feast, they were to call the poor and sick. In doing so, he said they would be lending unto him and that they would have their reward in the resurrection of the just.The 'brethren' mentioned at Matthew 25:40 is this same category of disadvantaged and marginalized mankind. Christ sees any poor, disadvantaged soul as 'his brother'. Such persons are not even necessarily of the church. It extends to ALL MANKIND. Just as Christ extended the definition of 'neighbour' in the account of the good Samaritan. In other words, it is not a case of showing goodness and kindness to those in the faith. Even Paul said that if we were to only extend kindness to those related to us in the faith, what great deed have we done? What is truly sad is that JW's have taken an account of how persons are to treat the poor and downtrodden, and monopolised and manipulated this meaning, restricting its application to only a 144,000. Hence, instead of WT teaching persons to be merciful and kind TO THE POOR [CHRIST 'S BRETHREN], JW's do NOTHING for the porr, not even realizing that their salvation depends on how they treat such persons.

Jesus doesn't know those who haven't done what John 6:29 and 8:24 tells us to do in order to know Him.
