Elaine, It may seem small to some, but what a HUGE thing it was for your mother to send that loving message to you! I'm so glad the Lord moved her heart to do that. Under the indoctrination is her true mother's heart! I know personally the pain of being shunned by my mother. I can deeply empathize with you, and I know that message was bittersweet. Some days my heart aches, literally aches, from the missing of my mother. I try to wall it off but sometimes it sneaks up and takes my breath away. It's a very hard walk to feel such love and have to go through life without a mother's caress, hug, advice, love. So this message of love is massive! I'll continue to pray that God intervene on your behalf and that your parents hearts soften toward you. Know that so many of us in the community do love you and we hold you up in prayers. As for 1 Cor. 11:27 that the Watchtower uses to prevent most of its members from partaking, this verse in fact emphasizes that partaking without the sense of unity (1 Cor. 11:21) with the rest of the brothers and sisters in Christ is what we Christians should avoid, not partaking itself that our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to do and warned us that by not doing it we would not have life with Him (John 6:50, 51, 53).

Actually, there is no any verse in the bible that directly says not to eat the bread and not drink the cup. But because most Christians in the world consider the bread and the cup during the mass/easter not just symbols but the actual body and blood of Christ directly presence (and most Christian believe have eaten actual body and drink actual blood of Christ). Because of this most JW's refuse to partook the emblem during memorial. You could read about consubstantiation or transubstantiation.
One thing interesting about this subject is that those JWs that did part take in the emblems thinking they were of the anointed class, were totally wrong. So who becomes the leaders of the organization? The wrongheaded ones that actually did something they either knew was wrong or had some kind of mental problem. Of course the ones that are naturally narcissistic could also take advantage of the situation as well. The point is, why would one expect anything less than absolute control from this leadership? But I am confused, when Jesus said "drink all of you" should we interpret that as the entire world who commemorate his death or was Jesus referring to "all of his disciples only"? It is not clear. How can we jump to the right conclusion without expeculation? How can we be 100% sure if he meant "all" only referring to his disciples when they were gather there all together or was Jesus referring to all of his disciples at that time and his future disciples who follow him too??? Don’t they celebrate the death of Jesus Christ on the day of Passover, the 14th of Nisan. Isn’t that mid April this year? And why Sunday the 24th and not Sunday the 31st? I suppose it’s because the 31st is Easter Sunday ! They can’t do it then.

One thing that helped me feel more confident that communion is for all believers is that the 1st century Christians and the early churches led by many of the apostles all taught that communion was to be done by everyone and often.
This is illustrated in the Didache - a historical document that confirms communion was done on a weekly basis. These practices were put into place by the apostles who would have obviously known if Jesus wanted everyone or just a select few to partake.
It is scary that they take the bread and wine and 'reject' it so often... John 6:53: So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."

Actually, there is no any verse in the bible that directly says not to eat the bread and not drink the cup. But because most Christians in the world consider the bread and the cup during the mass/easter not just symbols but the actual body and blood of Christ directly presence (and most Christian believe have eaten actual body and drink actual blood of Christ). Because of this most JW's refuse to partook the emblem during memorial. You could read about consubstantiation or transubstantiation.
One thing interesting about this subject is that those JWs that did part take in the emblems thinking they were of the anointed class, were totally wrong. So who becomes the leaders of the organization? The wrongheaded ones that actually did something they either knew was wrong or had some kind of mental problem. Of course the ones that are naturally narcissistic could also take advantage of the situation as well. The point is, why would one expect anything less than absolute control from this leadership? It makes it handy to develop a class system where those of the lesser class is expected to subjugate themselves to the upper class. How many people in that organization has said to themselves and had conversations with others that they would rather be on Earth than in Heaven anyway so they will obey the governing body?

But I am confused, when Jesus said "drink all of you" should we interpret that as the entire world who commemorate his death or was Jesus referring to "all of his disciples only"? It is not clear. How can we jump to the right conclusion without expeculation? How can we be 100% sure if he meant "all" only referring to his disciples when they were gather there all together or was Jesus referring to all of his disciples at that time and his future disciples who follow him too??? This is where I can get very confused, can someone please help me understand this?
