I own an SX210. This video is 100% legit...except the part about winching the boat on the trailer..WTF. You will easily smoke stern drives, V-drives, and especially pontoons at the docks, even when you mess up.
i have a 2014 AR240.. its a learning curve to get used to jets but once you got it down its funny to watch people freak out when you back into every dock
@leochup Our 24 foot boats, such as the 242 Limited featured here, weigh in closer to 3400-3500lbs. We tow many of our boats with 4Runners and have never had a problem. The low weight of Yamaha boats is something we hear owners comment on quite a bit, because they are easier to tow with a wider range of vehicles.
I have always wondered about that and when I saw this I may just buy me a 24. I don’t have a 4 runner but a 2007 Chevy trailblazer. Close similarity , right?
Twin outboards and inboards have a significant rudder effect (because they have one) The rudder provides some low speed forward steering in neutral that is greatly augmented by trust when its in gear, they'll also track a bit straighter at speed. The jet drives rely almost completely on thrust for steering.
@@dash8465 The newer Yamaha's have a rudder on the keel, it makes it muuuuch nicer to steer. The rudder is attached to the steering mechanism on the jet drive.
We just bought our first boat and this video was very helpful. I’ll watch it several times before we get out on to the water!
bought a 21 AR 190 cant wait to start trying these maneuvers

Thanks randy and team!

What is your typical cruising speed going down a highway towing this boat with a 4runner?
@@erickytam I tow mine with a Porsche Cayenne diesel and its hardly even there. Easy boat to pull......my 24.2 limited S
Last summer when I was 14 I could put our Yamaha lx2000 in almost any dock space. It just takes a lot of patience.
Very nicely done.
Will you do a video that shows what you’re doing with the steering wheel while you’re using the dual throttle? That’s where I get confused.
Hey Lindsey, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/uwX_xtc2jpU/w-d-xo.html
Try that docking under wind and choppy water
How do these handling characteristics differ from a twin outboard setup?

Okay you made that look way too easy.
Yup, it is not that easy and takes time to master (if anyone ever does).
I want one 😭😭😭
