Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

I woke up on Mother's Day and my husband had cleaned the entire house, sent the kids to his sisters house, and cooked me an amazing meal! Then we went to the Botanical Garden, and then went home and he waited on me all day! He even ran me a bath and then gave me a massage! He's incredible! ❤😊

On mother’s day all want to do is LITERALLY nothing! Bring us snacks and drinks and all the naps. Leave us alone 😂

This year I’m making my favorite pancakes the night before. (My husband will be out of town) This way I’ll do the dishes the night before. Dinner will be take out. I also bought my own gifts, and told my husband to wrap them. I’m doing easy and what I want with realism behind it.

I used to tell my kids (now 40, 38 and 34) that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a clean house and kids that didn’t fight. Yeah, I didn’t ever get that. 🤷♀️

My Mom sent us an Amazon wish list of what she wanted for mother's day. Apparently, it was jewelry cleaner and solar lights for outside. Then we had to go out an admire them after they were installed.

I feel like there should be two parts to Mother’s Day, day 1 mom gets to disappear and do WHATEVER she wants with NOBODY around. Day #2 is the usual Mother’s Day stuff with kids, except mom doing dishes is not allowed.

Um, did I mention I suffer from chronic insomnia. On a serious note there was a place my wife and I used to go a lot that was 24 hours before the coof and all I had to do was lean over her while she was sleeping and say "French toast platter." and she got ready faster than anything else she'd get ready for. 🤣

Yes, Mother's day is rough, I always feel more angry about doing my normal chores. I thought, you know, after making me breakfast, they might do more. It's more like Mother's morning.
2:30 I've never shopped at a Trader Joe's, but there is one right next to a movie theater i like to go to. It's amazing how many people love that store 😆😆 when COVID was still a new thing, my mom and I were going to walk in one time to kill time, but there was a line so long we quickly decided to forget it 😆 it must be some super delicious food

When I worked at the in-house café at a certain bookstore, right around 6pm on Mother's Day we'd get these families coming in cuz mom & dad needed caffeine, and their kids would be having nuclear meltdowns because you just knew those poor things were in those fancy, uncomfortable clothes ALL DAY.
Starting at 10am at church, then visiting grandma, then lunch, taking mom shopping (our store was mall-adjacent) which may also include portrait photos... By the time they made it to us those little kids were DONE.
When you have children you abandon the words "peace and quiet"
