Nice video! I’ve bought a Niu Uqi+ Sport (or U+b in other regions) a month ago and have been going to places. Battery is 48V 60Ah, could go for around 65km without fully draining the battery. I’m thoroughly enjoying it!
These are the way forward in terms of scooters, especially for countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand (for example) as the volume of scooters used out there in Asia is phenomenal. Good to see you back Joanna. I hope all is well.💯👍🏻
I struggle getting my head around the lack of long distance riding of electric motorcycles, but an electric scooter I can understand, as most are used around the cities and towns and appears to really make sense👍
I like the display, the GPS-ness and the styling is er... stylish too. If I had to negotiate those single-track roads locally I can see it would be tempting. Good vid.
Many thanks for your very detailed review. Having just sold my GSXR600 I had decided that at the grand old age of 66 that my riding days should be over. Your review has just convinced me otherwise. Looks like great town transport and a load of fun as well. Thanks again. 👍
If anyone is here in regards to the financial investment potential there is in NIU Technologies - I used this video as my point of review (cheers! solid review/ video as usual Joanna), I'd like to give you the rundown as I know the EV sector is hot, and so is retail investing :) - good hunting!
I'm so excited for EVs. I tried a couple of Zero bikes and they're brilliant, but expensive. I can't wait until the main Japanese manufacturers get involved and make something like an electric MT09, I will be first in the queue for one of those
We’re using one for CBT at our training school. After having a ride out on it I loved it. Felt confident filtering to the front of traffic and setting off quickly with it’s instant power. It’s definitely got the fun factor about it! 👍🏼
@@CheapskateMotorsports Back to the good old days then. I was curious it this scooter was learner legal, in which case I hope they sell loads. As for Joanna's own one, I'm guessing it isn't a moped if it can do more than 30 mph (50kph). It's what most people need for a 3/5mile urban commute.
@@niuuk8317 Thank you for the update, always useful to ensure I give correct advice. Great that Joanna sings its praises so well, for those commuting up to 20 Miles or so it will make perfect sense.
Try and get your hands on the LS2 Lightning Jo.. I emailed them to see if I could get one in the U.K. but they didn't respond.. I recently purchased a MV AUGUSTA 1078RR Brutale IT'S hilarious 🤣.
Wow, this New Yawker loves that accent. So, NIU is running a promo now here in the states. I put $100 deposit down on a white/red model. I've noticed a lot of TH-cam reviewers have the Black/White version. I'm not much of a design oriented guy so would be interested in your thoughts about choice of color scheme. Thanks
Very informative review. Im still not sure yet bacause the range isnt enough yet for my needs. However as a general tool for commuting or local trips, i see where you are coming from. Ive heard much about the torque on electric scooters and bikes but not yet had the experience. I have a scooter myself, a petrol 400cc kymco. This fulfills all my needs so i cant justify buying one of these at the moment but i aknowledge the fact that they are becoming more popular. The top speed, time to charge and range still need to be improved in my opinion, and the good news is that this is progressing. I take your point too on very low running costs. This is a very important consideration to me. Thank you again for your enthuiastic review. Stay safe, both you and your son.👍👍👍👍👍
This seems like such a cool scooter with lots of good points! And not that expensive IMO. Nice review. Wish it was compatible to living in Perth Aus, most isolated city in the world. Taking 50km/h roads within 100 km would get me nowhere quick. I'd get run over by a truck first.
HI Purplemonkey. As with all other road legal motor vehicles they will need to be MOT'd once they reach 3 years old :-) The criteria is the same as a standard MOT. Hope that helps :-)
This is the one place in the automotive market where electric makes perfect sense and I'm not one to like electric vehicles, just my guitars! 🤣 The electric motor is incredibly light as are the batteries, but the return on mileage with charging costs will absolutely beat a Tesla model anything. If you buy an extra battery and carry it with you, Texas proof! 3.5k vs 30-50k... 👍🏼
i dont see whats wrong with the speed and range its perfectly fine for am everyday ride to work and town. I own a car i would never use more than 60km perday.
Great review as always, you’re always so positive. Electric is the way forward no doubt, although I don’t have the need for one yet. Loving the red gloves 👍😎👍
One place electric bikes have an undisputed edge is the learners market. Because of some loopholes in the law, a 17 year old can hop on a 100mph Zero with L plates. They're becoming the new 2 strokes and I hope the prices come down so more kids can enjoy being able to do the speed limit.
JoJo how have you been.? I use to watch your MotoChannel about 4 or 5-years ago before I started mine. At 1st I was like... why is she riding a Scoot.? Then I realized its a brand new ELECTRIC Scoot.! How Fancy. hee heee
Nowadays one can go touring on this electric scooter as well. Rural areas Touring!! Yes you need to stop every 50 kms and visit restaurants/bars with charging facility.
There is no proof or evidence that loud pipes save lives. I just put money down on an NGT and as much as I’ve enjoyed my two strokes over the years I’m looking forward to the silence.
Having been hit by a distracted driver who turned into me whilst we not only made eye contact but I was riding a Harley-Davidson with 50/50 V&H pipes (obnoxiously loud), I can attest that Loud Pipes do NOT help avoid accidents. I just put a deposit on a NIU GT PRO!
@@mariorjcorbin yup. Unless they already see you, my experience is that other drivers can definitely hear the exhaust on a gas bike, but can’t really tell where it’s coming from until it’s already past them when it’s too late for it to keep you safe.
Slow in the country roads may be in city moped speeds are far less safe, with just about everyone passing you while you get forced in the gutter with no over taking ability or acceleration to get out of trouble, oh yeah and ICE vehicles are dead, they just don't know it, so enjoy em while you can 😉
I can't wait for hydrogen fuel cells that all you need to do is fill the tank up with water and it makes electric. At the moment manufacturers are paying to have the idea hidden so we have to buy lithium ion battery
Great review thank you! What license do you need to ride this?

What is the model of the blue scooter in the start of the video
What happened to the hypermotard ?
So impatient to see it again.
How do you set up clock etc? Is it from the app?

Do you charge it at home? Or do you need to go to a special station to stop and re-charge it?
Wheyyyy, nice to see you out and about Jo .....👍😁
Can you make long term review
These NIU bikes rock!

Thanks for the nice report.
It'd be useful to know if learners or which restricted licence holders can ride it, also what kind of charger it uses.
Fyi, Zero sell a bike for 17 year olds with a CBT that can do over 100mph. If 16 year olds can't ride this I'd be surprised.

Which insurance company did yo us to get it insured at £80? I have the MQi+Sport and was insured for £260 for year or £34 a month.

What! 3000 pounds! It's equivalent to 27k CNY!
In China, it's around 7k CNY (770 GBP) only!
With 7K CNY you only get the "normal" version, not the GT version here.
I just brought the gts pro
You have beautiful roads to ride on Joanna
