Avro Vulcan Bomber XH558 Final Departure From RAF Waddington

- This is what is thought to be the final departure of the Avro Vulcan Bomber (XH558) from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
XH558 has a limited amount of flying hours left due to the air frame and the longevity of it's engines, and with RAF Waddington International Air Show being cancelled next year due to major runway resurfacing, it is highly unlikely this unbelievable feat of engineering will be seen to grace the Waddington air space ever again.
A very moving morning for sure, watching her taxi down to runway 20 for her final time, to take off and do one final fly by.
I apologise for the quality, it was all filmed on my iPhone 5s.

Spectacular. Years ago I read a book, "Air War South Atlantic" which described the process of getting these bombers & their crews ready to go, and the short amount of time they had to do it. That effort, and actually the entire effort to put the task force to sea as fast as the UK did, is an epic in itself.
A beautiful beast no matter which side of the "pond" you're on. The Vulcan is a beautiful Lady.

I was gob-smacked to see a Vulcan flying over my wee town today. This aircraft is the one. Very special bit of engineering.

i remember one of these planes being put up for sale for £70.000 gpb.s it was the talk of buying it until the subject came up of where to store it.

Martin Withers is the Chief Pilot. He joined the RAF in 1968 and after serving at various airbases he was then posted to the Vulcan. His first tour as a co-pilot was at Waddington on 44 Sqn and he then served as a captain on 50 Sqn, also at Waddington and helped play the part in bombing the falklands.
Kevin Rumens, Bill Ramsey, Phill O'Dell and Bill Perrins also fly XH558. All are ex RAF, Phill flies a spitfire also and Bill perrins is a retired 747 training captain.
+CockWomble Oh and also, XM607 based as the gate guardian at Waddington where I filmed the video, is the actual 50sqn that dropped the bombs ;)

not long a go i was out with my mate and over the roof tops of another street i seen an deadly looking Vulcan Bomber jet flying very slow over my aria to wards my street and it vanished until i wet over to get my bike fixed by my nabob he told me i was very spooked by the Vulcan Bomber jet so i stayed still in case it attacked just stayed still so the houses it was awfully near to would not me under fret bye it im still currently on the look out if i spot it i will get it on tape if I'm lucky to.
When vulcans die i die 🤣
