    7:31 also about a cm higher.
    I agree with the last things you mentioned. but benefit when you are landing on rocks with feet or smashing them into stuff they will protect you better, but overkill for me.

    I only ride with 5 and have just broke my big toe last Tuesday but a tree stump in a bunch off leaves is hard to see. I like the 5 because I ride flats and the sole is great.

    I don't get couple of years of Five Ten Freerider, they last two seasons. I have winter shoes and summer shoes.
    the sole will get holes and will get too flexy eventually.
    But the stiffer shoes will last longer like Impact, but I don't like to have them on cus the issue is they are so warm.

    Very good display. I have about 5 miles of off road trail, on a mostly, on road 140 mile, Oahu Island ride. So I'm always looking to optimize that situation. Not having to bring hike shoes along w my roadie setup would be nice. Also clipping in is a bit of an issue on that trail so mags would be good. Do you think 140 miles with 5 miles of trail/walking/riding would work w these pedals??? Thank you 😊 👌

    Sawadee krap from Thailand. Heading home to Phoenix for some great fall riding in the desert. that said, need a new pair of shoes and I am leaning toward the Five Ten Freerider Pro or the Giro Riddance. Your thoughts? Thanks for the video Sam.

    Thanks for clearing up the difference between the models. I've got 3 pairs of Freerider - one of which is worn out and the other pair a bit snug - so am a big fan. I do suffer a lot from foot pain so need to move position on the pedals, hence flats rather than clipless. I love the way that the soles absolutely stick to the pins on my flats. I never get dislodged.
    After watching this, I think I should upgrade to the Freerider Pro or the Impact to benefit from some of that extra stiffness, even though it will be a killer for the hike-a-bike sections.
    My only complaint with the FiveTens is that they squeeze my little toe after a few hours. I think that Nathan (Sendero Seeker) suffers the same. Have you had this?

      Hey Graham thanks for watching, yes the pros or the impacts are on my list, I’ve gone back to clips on my ebike but not 100% sure on it! I I’m 43 on all my 510s but I ordered te impact pro in 43 and they were too small. I don’t like a very tight fit on my riding shoes and o have narrow feet so no toe rubbing!

    Hi, could you tell me something about Freeriders' and Freeriders' Pro breathability? Would it be decent enough for a whole day XC/Trail trip in the summer? Thx :]

  • @brokenlegz
    @brokenlegz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is the freerider pro a lower cut shoe than the freerider? Or does it just appear that way because the ankle area isn’t cut as deep? I hope that makes sense

    • @SamsBikes
      @SamsBikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is a little lower cut!

    How much were the Freerider costing in 2019? I saw them in an Adidas store going for 110€ which is crazy

  • @gpfx01
    @gpfx01 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sam, how do you find the FiveTen sizing? I usually take a size 45 but one of my pairs of FiveTen at 47¼ is tight (I only wear them on cold days, of which there ain't many down here in Cadiz Province).

      It has changed since 5.10 was bought by Adidas not long ago. Check some adidas shoes (if you have them o can try them) before ordering online.
      I have had some hellcats from years ago and they are 44,5 and 29 cm's which are perfect for me.
      I did order 45 1/3 of the new freeriders pro to get the same fit (29 cm) according to their web site, and other adidas i had.
      They are on their way, i think that should be the size.
      Hope this was helpfull if buying new 5.10.
      Best regards.

Not sure how long five tens would last in wet weather but I love mine! My video wasn’t that clear but I was meaning with a heavier bike like the ebikes you need need more protection on your feet! Thanks for watching and watch out for that spunk on the trials hahahaha
