Hey Mike, you should try Sparkling gouramis! They never get larger than 1 1/ 2 inches, and they are one of the most peaceful in the hobby.

I love Ember tetras, love the way they school.
Pea Puffer would hurt the other fish. Pea Puffer must be alone

I'd definitely choose vietnameese whitecloud. It's tiny and outgoing and the flashes of red and their blue eyes would look awesome in that scape :p

Try croaking/sparkling gouramis! Easy to breed and make interesting noises. There color also changes when in breeding dress
I love sparkling gouramis! They are my favorite fish in the hobby
The sand water fall turned out great. It looks really tranquil in there. Once the Monte Carlo gets a little thicker or better established it will be perfect. No fish needed
A single male paradise fish, some sparkling gouramis. I think the small gourami aesthetic is really good in this tank, with the larger Paradise fish as a centerpiece. Also, the colors of all the fish nicely complement the colors of the aquarium. Love the setup, I hope to see more!!
Definitely a couple of small hillstream loaches--might as well make the most of all your work creating their ideal habitat. And Vietnamese minnows--a perfect pairing
I know you want little tiny fish (a few sparkling gourami?) but I think a betta would make it pretty magical. Maybe a plakat because long finned varieties may be at risk of getting sucked into the holes.
@AQUAPROS Beta would be dope - the amount of water movement is probably perfect

My friend has a sand waterfall aquarium with some shrimps in it, the shrimps just avoid the waterfall and it works out really well, I think that blue bolt shrimps and neon blue guppies would look great😍

I have had shrimp in a waterfall tank before, at first they get sucked up and it doesn’t effect them, but mine gradually learned to not go near the intake hole😂

I hope to get to this level some day. Right now I'm dealing with relentless brown algae in a tank that refuses to cycle with its useless biowheel filter. AquaClear is on the way. Hopefully I can get the tank stabilized soon.

Japanese rice fish would be cool, or possibly green neon rasboras. I would shy away from bottom dwellers as they are much more likely to get sucked up by the sand waterfalls

I definitely agree with mollies! I am biased to balloon bellies hehe I also find (since I only feed them every other day) that they'll graze on algae. This might help his algae problem :) they've done a decent job in my 29 gal of keeping down the black beard algae on an anubias and this deep green algae on my driftwood.
You should get a pair of Apistogramma Borelli and maybe a couple dither fish or maybe a dwarf neon rainbow tank with an L46 pleco. One of the coolest looking tanks I've seen

Dwarf Pencil fish! Super cool fish. I got the mistake of only getting ten, get 20 or more because they look super amazing in a school and their behavior is very interesting.

Fish suggestions would be dario dario, Celestichthys erythromicron or Celestichthys marguritatas, Boraras brigittae and someone else suggested glass cats which would look incredible too. Really interesting hearing about the various processes of dealing with the imbalances regarding algae and it's awesome to see you in front of the camera for a change!

Awesome tank. I suggest rasboras, maybe a variety of different species. They would be the right size, an awesome color and they are prefect for planted tanks. Nice job.

M8 this scape is awesome, and as for fish I would put pea puffers in there but if not that maybe rice fish would be cool.
The tank looks awesome man! Have you thought about darters or gobies? Neon Blue Gobies would look awesome on the monti.

Clown killies, chili/mosquito/emerald eye/kubotai/exclamation point rasboras, sparkling gouramis. I love sparkling gouramis, FlipAquatics could probably hook you up with some, they’re a really cool fish but they don’t do well with shrimp. Keeping them in this tank could give you an opportunity to keep a really cool fish that you wouldn’t normally have because of shrimp compatibility. They look like crap on the pictures on their website but when you see them when they’re settled in it’s amazing. There are plenty of videos on TH-cam that show them in their prime.
In all my experience I have never come across a tank that works smoothly from day one onwards. There is always something that has gone wrong to some degree or other. No matter how diligent you are at keeping on top of issues.

I have fresh water shrimp in my aquarium, I don't have a sand waterfall (which looks awesome by the way) but I do have a small normal waterfall and I have to tell you that shrimp are batshit crazy!!!
They go through the waterfall all the time and they love it...........

Heterandria Formosa gold form would be awesome in there. I bought them from a seller on aquabid and they're super interactive, curious, and tiny. I'm also interested in how your Monte Carlo on rock turns out. I want to try it on an upcoming tank but I'm getting cold feet and might do moss instead.
