This week, I made a SAND WATERFALL. What do you think? These tiger barbs are truly incredible fish. They should be kept in schools and ideally in a species only tank as they can be aggressive towards other fish. They can also grow quite large (2-3 inches), so plan ahead for a larger tank upgrade! Happy to answer all your questions below ☺

Yeah I was thinking the same throughout the video. I doubt they stay in their tanks for long though as this channel is built around tank design and is aliened with aquarium co-op. I'd imagine that after each of these videos these tanks are taken apart and repurposed for a new video. Even if this is the case though, it still does put a bad impression on new fish owners who may do a similar thing.

They need to be in a bigger tank, even at that size. You need to up the size of the tank before they grow, not as they grow. This is how you get fish with stunted growth and other health problems. That tank would be okay for cherry shrimp or smaller fish, but not barbs.

@@invaderjoshua6280 size will stunt growth. I just googled it. And barbs like long tanks not tall.. and just because they are living doesn’t mean they are thriving .

@@invaderjoshua6280 just bc someone does something on TH-cam, doesn't mean its right. anyone can post, anyone can have an opinion. barbs do need more horizontal swimming room. I have kept exotics including fresh and salt tanks and I have kept barbs before. you can even tell from the way they are all swimming back and forth at a noticeably quick pace in the video. I love this tank design and you can tell she is knowledgeable on aquatics, I just think other species would suit the tank better. As for breeding, how does it make any sense to cramp and crowd your fish, that just sounds like the equivalent of a puppy mill for fish. more fish equals more room, so why would you want to keep all of them in smaller tanks, competing for more space? Or how about you? would you prefer to live in a bedroom, or a house? Obviously you're not gonna keep it in something huge where it can't find food, just a reasonably sized tank, so the fish can all grow normally....keep an Oscar in a 55 gallon and it won't grow past 12 inches cuz the fish can't turn around. so, its spinal structure becomes stunted from limited mobility...point and case. I know breeders who breed their fish in appropriate tank size and still make tons of success. all in all life will go on whether its struggling or thriving but its up to us as humans with morality and conscience to make their existence as best as possible in our care. we have the power to let them thrive and as a way of giving back to the animal for profiting off of their literal existence, isn't it only fair to care for them as best as possible?

I had a tank full of green tiger barbs. When I was at the aquarium picking them out there was one of the green Tiger barbs in the orange Barb tank I got 8 out of the green Barb tank and asked to also have the Green Barb that was in the orange tank as well. I named him party hard. One day I came home from work and I counted all my fish and noticed Party hard was missing. A week later I found party hard hidden underneath my bed. RIP party hard you went out doing what you loved the most jumping out of tanks. Moral of the story. Get a lid if you have barbs so they don’t end up like party hard.

It's amazing how fast tiger barbs grow... once I had a big tiger barb, and bought a group of smaller barbs about a third of the size, and when I put them together the smaller ones grew to the same size as the big one in a very short period of time, I had the same thing happen with gold barbs but I had 6 small gold barbs and every time I went to my LFS there was a huge gold barb that was there for months and no one bought him so was like ok ill take him, I introduced them into a 55 gallon tank and in no time the small ones caught right up to the bigger one... with good nutrition ofcourse I feed all my fish a wide variety of foods... not only that but the gold barbs then started showing beautiful red coloration in the males and I kept them for years.. today my friend still has them there probably maxed out in size... gold barbs are a great fish to keep in groups and there adorable!

Love the way you did a funny concept but still manage to get a very nice natural style aquarium.
The video editing is very entertaining !
I just have some doubt with the stocking of this tank. If I remember correctly, theses fishes prefer lengthy aquarium because they are made to swim fast. (Judging by the kind of fins they have)
Maybe some guppies or killifish would have been better ? I’m not sure, maybe some more experienced fish keepers could help here.
(I’m used to keep tank with almost no fish in haha)
