ABOUT ME:
My name is David, and I play the mandolin. I've played with multiple award-winning bluegrass bands across the world including Missy Raines, Mile Twelve, Cup O’Joe, and The Foreign Landers, and I curate the weekly mandolin video series #mandolinmondays hosted by the Mandolin Cafe. But most of all, I love sharing my love of the mandolin with others. I run an online mandolin learning community on Patreon, and I also make videos to share my thoughts, ideas, and general mandolin enthusiasm with other mando aficionados. At 70 years young and playing around 45 years I really enjoy your content. I started developing problems making my closed chords due to author-I -tist ( my spelling of it ,not wanting to claim it).Even though I have always had a problem playing fast notes in the key of G ,I believe this lesson will help me at my age to finally get this key down pat. It's the same way in "c". Thanks for your knowledge
Terrific lesson-fun stuff to work on! Analysis of shapes and patterns so I can recognize and build on them is is really helpful for me. Thanks, David!
One of your top 10 lessons 👏
Wow thank you for that! It gave me an “I get it” moment. Now my dots are connected.
That is just so 'obvious in retrospect': thanks!!
I feel like I just received one of the keys to the kingdom. Thanks, David!
Just starting out with the mandolin (coming from guitar). Great stuff!
Yay! Thanks for the new stuff to practice over the holiday! I've been locked on your Patreon lately. Thanks for all the great content. Hope to see you at IMBA in Raleigh this year.
Great lesson as always, David! Thanks for the passion and excitement you bring.
That Mando sure has a great sound.
Great stuff, David. This old rock guy is going to try out those licks!
David This is a eye opener for me Thank you so much Deano
Really good and informative lesson David. I appreciate your time.
Thanks David, that was very informative! 🤓
This is what I come here for, great video.
Very informative indeed!
Good info
Bostin lick that is, David!
Nice hat Ben.
That is an awesome lesson! Thanks, David ! BTW, where did you get the cool T-shirt?
this is awsome! soldiers joy lesson please?
I'm still trying to figure out if that's Bill Monroe or Uncle June on your t-shirt 🤔
It looks to me like you can do all that boxy stuff without the pinky, right? Glad I have a holiday to practice.
🍀
Great playing! Love the tips - for intermediate players I think a big speed bump is having the some of the skill and imagination to construct solos but not quite having the vocabulary yet. This is a big help!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
“Voila” not “walla”
the biggest level up from the mando is to learn a practical skill you can actually use to make a living
I hate how this guy calls old time music bluegrass. Bill Munroe didn't come up with this sound or playing
Shut up "Antwan"
@@purplecow2039 yes ma'am.
