Perfect timing! I heard this for the first time a few weeks ago at an Old Time jam. Loved it and thanks for posting this tutorial. Also nice to know the history 😊

JKW is the man! One of my favorite players lately. Love this tune!

I’ve spent about 2 hrs on it. It really helps to have the notation. I’m up to 75 bpm. Hoping to get to 90 by the end of the week.

This was originally a 2 part tune that James Bryan added the 3rd part, I understand. I usually just play the full F on the second part. Nice playing.

Love it. How did you mute the A string?

Unreal playing so jealous. Wondering if you could advise on what mandolin you woulf buy if you had 3000 dollars or in and around that. Hard to know what to go for. Cant wait to start your lessons

I realize you asked David and not some stranger. But for what it’s worth, for that kind of money I’d go small batch artisan, and not a big producer. You will get more instrument for your money. I have a $2,500 F-style oval hole (that’s how I roll), and it stacks up great against your prestigious makers in that price range, and it’s a custom make.
