    Another reason to axe your address completely is because the prospective employer can calculate your commute and if they feel it's too long they'll toss your resume; long commute = stressed out worker.

    I never thought about highlighting a special project or specific experience in a highlights box. I keep my first job out of college on my resume because it is a big name but my resume is already bulky as is.

      Yes! I love the highlights section. It’s such a great place to emphasize certain skills and accomplishments. Glad this video was helpful. 😊

    Hey Heather great video, question how is it that I obtain the template you showed right at the very beginning of the video? It was the second one on the right, it just looks so organized I wanted to see if I can use it.

    Why do you advise putting quantifiable selling points in a resume when those results can not be proven in a job interview. It's just hearsay. One interviewer said to me after an interview, "You Tube." 😂🤣

    • @ProfessorHeatherAustin
      @ProfessorHeatherAustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Quantifiable achievements are the backbone of any good resume. Employers assume that the candidate is telling the truth. That's what the job interview process is all about. Also, before they hire you, some employers will do employment verification checks. Does that help?

    • @Mr_BUSINESS_24_7

      @@ProfessorHeatherAustin Verifying that I worked somewhere is not the same thing as verifying my performance metrics where I worked. And if they legally can't say anything to defame my name. So how are people who aren't privy, coddled, and crony ever going to profit if employers are discussing our personal business without our consent ? That's nepotism and corporate slavery.

    • @noraballa923
      @noraballa923 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Think about the interviews experience: Candidate A does not mention anything quantifiable. Candidate B highlights some remarkable achievements. Candidate C also mentions numbers but less focused on what they achieved. They will only hire one of them.

    • @Mr_BUSINESS_24_7

      @@noraballa923 if I was the interviewer, if it can't be verified, it's the same as a buzz word. pick me I'm awesome.
