Hey Alan great list 👌 I’ve recently got a bottle of the Benromach 2012 batch 1 and it kicks all my other cask strengths (apart from my Edradour Ibisco’s) to the side. Stunning stuff. Another great under the radar cask strength is the Glen Moray warehouse 1 Manzanilla finish 👌 Cheers !
@@thewhiskyfriend Hi Alan…well…since I’m in Arizona USA my abilities to grab some of these choice malts is a bit hindered…but here’s my cask strength malts opened the on shelf now: Arran Quarter Cask, Benromach Cask Strength Batch 4, Bunnahabhain 12 CS 2021 batch, Bunnahabhain Aonadh Limited Edition, Bunnahabhain 14 yr PX finish L/E, Lady of the Glen Loch Lomond 22 yr old (Inchmurrin), Deanston 16 yr Organic Oloroso….all but 1 of these a premium was paid to get those 700ml bottles from their homeland 😉
Alan, great list. I have about half of those bottles. Really enjoying Deanston's CS = 9 years in Bordeaux, brandy finished and most recently a Signatory 13 years in sherry. Love that Victoriana too. CHEERS!!
@@thewhiskyfriend Ouch! That's a tough one. Do I only put bottle on the list that really say "cask strength" on the label? Or is a whisky that is a single cask bottled at let's say 58.x% allowed as well? And am I allowed to put IB's on the list? So not bothering any 'rules' I would say (no particular order!): Bunnahabhain Moine oloroso 2016 Ardbeg Corryvreckan Signatory Vintage Linkwood 19yo A.D.Rattray Staoisha 5yo (60.1%) ... and then struggling with the Laphtoaig 10yo CS (have batch 12 opened atm), a distillery exclusive Glen Scotia I have, several Octomore and IB's: what would be the 5th.... don't know 🤷♂️
That’s the first time I’ve seen the old Benromach branding… (sshh… I prefer the new bottles) Another great video with some great suggestions! I started a “stash”… one unopened bottle so far 😂. The Benromach cask strength. I’ll be buying faster than I drink now, though!
Your list is legit. I am glad you included the sherry ibisco natural cask Edradour and Mactggart’s Arran 12. The only one missing is the Edradour natural strength ibisco bourbon
Enjoyed the video and of course excellent choices. Got a few CS bottles at home and at the moment I’m enjoying ( very much) an IB single cask, CS, 10 yrs old Mortlach .👍, slàinte Alan.
Hey mate- had a name change (Stephen Davidson for future reference) fantastic list. Loved the addition of that Edradour 12 Natural Cask Strength. One of the best sherry whiskies I've tried.
@@thewhiskyfriend Haha yea you did! I forgot I changed the name so didn't mention it at the time. Wasn't sure having my first and last name as my username was the safest thing
@@thewhiskyfriend Probably recognised the picture next to the name. My list would be: Arran Quarter Cask, Edradour Natural Cask Strength, Redbreast 12 CS, Springbank 12 CS, Lagavulin 12 CS and a nod to particular indies at cask strength esp Chorlton, Thompson Bros, North Star
Those are all bangers Alan. Love the GA 10 CS and GS Victoriana. Honorable mentions, A'bunandh, Tamdhu CS, GF 105, Arran Quarter Cask may squeak into the CS category as well. I noticed no smokey/peaty CS ones on the list.
There is a few smoky peated one the fella heavily peated kilkerran, victoriana, I know what you mean no islay laphroiag Lagavulin etc.. But I do have plans for them in a future video... Thanks for dropping I fella
@@thewhiskyfriend You're right Alan. My bad but that's exactly what I was referring to. Look forward to the Laga, Laph, Ardbeg CS video in the future. Solid plan 👍
@@thewhiskyfriend Haha. I’ll see what I can do 😉. I forgot about my GS Vic. However. Those Kilkerrans are quite hard to get here. Or highly overpriced..
