    What a beautifully summarized no nonsense video. Great effort. Did not know of this channel. Subscribed. Got rm2 and rmpp. Returned both because of terrible pdf experience. Getting a 2024 scribe this week. Cannot wait to share the feedback. Thank you for what you do here my friend

    Excellent review, as always and the hat is a great touch. Interesting to hear the ViWoods added Google Play. This should be really helpful for those getting started in the space. My Mobiscribe is supposed to come tomorrow, wanting to use it mostly as a universal reader so will be reviewing.

    Thank you! Very clear. I believe Supernote deals with epub files. Does it do this well? Do epubs need to be sideloaded? I am fairly new to eink. Mainly want a well-organized, intuitive notetaker to replace needing paper notebooks. Also want to be able to read purchased epub books and take notes on them or beside the text. Would Supernote work well? Thinking to wait for the A5x2 if so. Thanks very much.

      @jeffreymoss  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting question, I had never tried that before. I just loaded an ePub and it worked fine. You can annotate on the document and it will index those so you can jump to them in the document. I'm waiting for the A5X2 as well. Hopefully soon, but we shall see.

      Also, be sure to note that the Supernote does not have front lighting. In well lit environments it's a non-issue for me, but sometimes I find myself reading in weak lighting and I appreciate the front lighting. Just something to consider, but certainly not a deal breaker.

    So I have a question about pen integration. I’m currently using a scribe pro pen with a NA3C but I’m having trouble with constantly accidentally pressing the side button while I’m writing so I’m looking for a new pen. Now there doesn’t seem to be an option to independently set behaviour for the side button and the eraser (presumably because the Boox pens don’t have side buttons) so it seems pointless for me to get another pen with a button, but are there any devices besides the scribe which do support mapping separately the side button and eraser if/when I change devices in the future? As I love having the side button as a highlighter separate to the eraser, as is default on the scribe.

      I'm surprised we don't see more systems with the option to set the button. Bigme devices did that when they included a stylus with buttons, although that was with bluetooth which required a charge of the stylus. The Supernote allows the user to press two fingers on a side bar to either activate an eraser or the lasso tool, so that's kind of close, but doesn't use a button. I am hard pressed to think of other options at this time.

    Jeff your thoughts on the Mobi Scribe Wve color with the Kaleido Plus Display vs the B&W version just mainly cheap book reader ? The color is $159 with the cover vs B&W without the cover is $99 ? Which one would get ? Thanks nice review.

      @jeffreymoss  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't reviewed that particular device, but I have had devices with that version of Kaleido Plus, which is fairly decent. The color PPI is around 100, if my memory serves me, so you will notice a graininess there. But Kaleido Plus wasn't that far off from the current Kaleido 3, so it's a viable option. Seems like you can't go wrong at either price.

    Hi. I've enjoyed your videos on the e-ink tablets. I'm torn on which one to buy. Wish the Supernote 10.3 was for sale. Can you comment on which device is best for searching notebooks for words or numbers, both in a single notebook and all notebooks? Thanks.

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think Boox and Supernote have the best search/reference features. Companies like reMarkable and Viwoods are limited to tags on a page or file titles. But Boox and Supernote allow for tags attached to words on the page, and other markers. In most cases, search can occur within or across notebooks. The one downside of Boox is that handwriting search can be slow.

      @jeffreymoss Can you search for words on a Mobiscribe Wave? I'm thinking that could be a good starter for me, then step up bigger and better if I use it a lot.

      Thank you. What are the best few features of the Supernote A5X that bump it above the Boox Go 10.3 for you? I might try to find an A5X for sale used. The upcoming A5X2 will probably cost too much upon release.

      @@GregTumbleson I really like the star-marking system where I can draw a star, the system converts it (so I know it's recognized) and then I can search on stared items across notebooks. That's my main way of tracking to-dos. In addition, the two-finger erase feature helps me when I'm in the flow of taking notes. Finally, I think the file management is better than most, including the ability to create a list of quick links.

    I had the Boox note air 4c and I returned it. Very user unfriendly, It runs android which is okay, but it is very slow and they completely messed up the UI. Terrible.
    The UI of de Remarkable is perfect. It does what it's made for, and does that perfect.

      I'm not clear on the question. Are you referring to the reMarkable Paper Pro? I included that on the list.
