@@milesdevine1161 I guess you don't live in the states but you could've guessed olive garden is a restaurant and his roommate works there based on this video talking about not wearing all black unless you want to be a mistaken for a waitor.
The red tie also makes it look like you're in a mid 2000s pop punk band that's made it big enough to hire a music video stylist, but not big enough to hire a good one
the red tie just makes me think of the many many many many *many* holiday performances I've been in as a musician that required all black with a "red accent"
Thats why I go for black dress shirts that have a bit of texture or a pattern that is also another shade of black. It is subtle but it avoids the waiter look and breaks up the solid black to make it look more interesting.
Ah, my people! All black is work attire... and the ask black with "pop of colour" is every choir I've ever sung in over the course of a long career. LONG career!
Cream/ash pants, black dress shirt with sleeves rolled up. If you have the forearms and the chest, it works. Trust me. A couple necklaces and a watch and you’re golden, or, well, black. Works wonders.
I think my favorite combo to wear when I’m at the office is a black dress shirt and non-black, usually patterned trousers. It’s always a winning look for me.
This is the formal cool. And there is the informal cool, with jeans (light or medium washed), top 2 buttons undone (or all undone, with an undershirt), maybe even sleeves rolled
Nicely done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 You can also wear a black dress shirt with a colorful (think patterned, Hawaiian or watercolor style) suit. It looks good without a tie
Ohhhhhhhh this actually gives me really good ideas for my story because I have a character who is upper crust who prefers all back and him taking layers off helps him become inconspicuous.
Jazz black looks really sweet. It’s no tie, black shirt and slacks (with black socks and shoes of course). It was the uniform for high school jazz concerts and it looked an felt awesome.
Best I can do is a t-shirt and jeans. Love your content, cool to see fashionable people dress fashionably, even if it’s not relevant to my particular style/life.
I love that he doesn’t tell u the brands and how much everything cost. Just simple explanation of what types of pieces work no shilling designers down our throat
Damn. you’re so good. I didn’t watch the reel all the way through at first, I was eyeing that beautiful mossy green jacket in the back. Would love to see how that’s styled in darker tones. Adore your videos and the kindness and elegance with which you teach those who wish to know.
The all-black formal look is also what the expectation was for my late Grandpa's funeral, so my bf combined the black dress shirt with a black tie, pants, and shoes. I bought him the jacket, which he generally didn't take off, so it worked.
Ive been a sucker for black on black with silver accents, tie, pocket square, cufflinks, watch beltbuckle, black/silver vest if im being real formal with it. But yea my go to is a silver or grey shirt as they go with most, then i got the pastels to give something visually distinct
All black formal is literally one of my favorites.. I usually add a vest to make it a 3 piece; accessorize with a silver pocket watch and ring and it just feels so good👌🏼
Black dress shirts look effortlessly good. That may be my personal bias shining through. Really, I've never seen a man look bad in a black shirt. I would add that playing with textures will be your best bet when it comes to all black. Satin tie with a cotton shirt. Oh and it really makes the jewellery pop.
I've always been in love with a black dress shirt with a three piece suit that has a subtle pattern colour to it. With a silk tie of darker shade like deep purple
also the most important (/bothersome) thing to make sure with an all black outfit: make sure the shades of black match (in daylight). If you think your black wardrobe all goes together, check again for the hues of red, blue, green, purple...
All black with red tie is a middle school jazz band ass outfit for sure (and all black w/black jacket is a highschool jazz outfit (actually just about all of these have almost definitely been worn to multitudes of jazz performances))
I’m in a lot of concerts and I play percussion. I often struggle with finding things that don’t get in the way of my playing but still would like to look good.
I like to wear a black dress shirt with a checker skirt that has black and one other color (I usually go for olive green or brown). I think a vest of sorts on top could also look nice.
This is super helpful because I bought my concert black clothes recently and so those are all great ideas! Grey probably was the best one, as long as I don't look like a waiter without the jacket haha.
I have a vintage red sears suit and I wear a black dress shirt with it, super killer look!! I do agree though that the blazer must stay on or else it looks bad.
Nah man a black shirt is the second shirt you should buy, it's less formal but a black shirt with black pants and leaving the upper few buttons open is a crazy good look
This channel has never EVER been suggested, recommended, or put in my feed in any way. And now, the day after I wear a black dress shirt for the hell of it, I get this video....
Let me tell you I'm not into suits and most of the time I consider them ugly BUT I can see how comfortable you are in them which makes it instantly look better.
My ex used to wear black shirt with light colored pants or denim for any special date. I asked why and he said it was effortless to pull off and u dont need to worry too much about what to wear.i think black dress shirt is actually nice
Textured patterns strategically placed can be a bombshell to break up a monochromatic scheme that looks flat. Less is more, but accentuate rather than being obnoxious. Lol
I have a colorful polka-dotted tie which in my opinion works great with the all black aesthetic, it probably would look weird with a jacket, but I don't have a jacket.
The red tie reminds me of Green Day and My Chemical Romance 😂❤

For me, as a musician, a black button down shirt screams concert night, and I love it. Half of what I wear is just black shirts.
I was feeling this, I have friends that even skip the shoes if they're in back or we're in the pit for opera or something, comfort trumps fashion
