They are so young and so beautiful. So full of enthusiasm. Isn't Eric just gorgeous ??? So fun to find a clip with them talking !!! I was soooooooo in love with them, back in the day. RIP, Alan, Les and (my favorite !!) Ian.
I still play my BCR albums occasionally. They were worth hanging onto and I'm glad I did. I loved Eric. I wish I could have seen them live in concert. Oh well.
They are so adorable and fresh faced in this interview, but Eric is absolutely gorgeous here. He still makes my heart flutter when I watch all the BCR videos, they will always have a part of my heart. A BCR fan forever!!
I watched a documentary on them just last night. It’s unbelievable they sold over 300 million records in just 4 years. And they were almost penniless when it was all said and done. And the music business wonders why all artists have full control nowadays.
OMG Eric!! 40 years later and I guess I still love them. I was part of the Rollermania movement here in America. I was one of those "hysterical" teenagers! LOL Looking back to that time yeah....they were HOT! Especially Eric! THOSE EYES!! Wow!!! Loved hearing them talk then, and still love it now. Great interview and LOVE the close ups of Eric!! :)
Love this interview love you guys my teenage ❤️ is yours Eric and woody always you made my teenage years fab and will never let music die ❤️ love you guys so sad Alan les and Ian left us way to soon ❤️ ♥️ 💜
Well, I have just this to say about the cheap clothes you could buy in any store . . . they didn't look half so good on anyone as they did on these guys. They lit up the stage wherever they went. It is so funny looking at this interview 40 years after being a fan, thinking, these guys are the same age as my own boys. I loved seeing Les's face light up when asked about the music. The Rollers are great musicians and their music will never die, at least in my heart.
Eric made all their clothes, they would cut part of their pant legs and Eric add the tartan/plaid, I thought they were store bought then read somewhere that Eric made their clothes.
I remember spending alot of money and time on.my Roller Gear. Inexpensive NOT but it was a labor of Love of our Rollers but I had to find Yellow McCleod for Stuart all the time
You guys rocked my world-Hand sewed on the tartan (so damn perfect with the stitches lol) Still play your music-good times the best times, best music for me then and still reminisce-Thank you for your music, your words of love and wisdom, belief and all, just everything-thanks for touching my life xxx mwah mwah-Only the best for you all BELIEVE-LOVE-PEACE-BROTHERS xx
They were actors. Behind the scenes they were going thru hell ... Absolute hell. Read the book. They also got robbed by Paton. Ended up broke. Paton went to prison, as we all know.
Yeah even than they were all a bit shy,🤗Woody did have a cute wee face😊but Eric was always my favourite,😍OMG his voice, those eyes, and that smile, melted me always, and he had the coolest hair that I copied aswell!👍💖
I had a crush on Derek and Eric back then I still do today, I was 15 then and so in love with them. I think I drove my family nuts having to watch every program with them on it, my sister's (one older one younger) never understood why I loved a group from Scotland and not one from the U.S. it's simply they were hot looking the band's here were OK.
One of the many things I love about this band was how utterly unpretentious they were. That's such a rarity these days. In a world full of egocentric people, be a Bay City Roller ❤
This is a nice interview with the bay city rollers. I love them so much because I was there biggest fan and I listen to there songs and I write comments about them how incredible and awesome they are and they become a superstars. Thanks for them on the interview I am very proud and makes me happy. Keep making the rollers my biggest fan. Good Luck
Derek..I still love you and your beautiful smile!! P.S. Eric your eyes are smoking sexy!! Roll on u guys!! I love you now at 50 just like I did at 14!!!
So I was a huge BCR fan from 11-14. I loved Leslie and Ian but I always thought Eric was kind of cute. Now, 45 years later, at the tender age of 55 (😌) I'm looking at Eric and thinking, good God what a gorgeous man! I still love them all and have fond memories of being a hard core fan but I can't help wondering why I wasn't more into Eric? I've seen pics of him now and he still looks pretty good for a man in his 60s. Those eyes...😉
Alan, Derek and Eric were a bit older than Les and Woody, Led and Woody were in their mid teens when they were in the band. Alan, Derek and Eric were in their 20's.
the bay city rollers were a good band back in the 70s i remember them very well good songs you could sing along to. my sister was mad in them i had a t shirt and the trowsers lol. not like the crap we hear today
We are so lucky to grow up in the time we did! I feel so bad for teenagers and young people today . What is their music and must have stuff besides electronics? Video games I guess . Remember when we actually spoke to each other? Hung out doing nothing and having a great time? Who wants to go back with me to the 70s ?
Currently reading The dark history of the Bay City Rollers. Equal parts very sad and shocking. I had no idea of what was going on behind closed doors and just how awful Tam Paton was😥
This is an interesting interview. First off, the interviewer is accusing them of a lot of things that are unacceptable. Go see them love and do a report. Second, what Derek says about the clothes is the EXACT SAME thing that Johnny Ramone said about The Ramones clothing. The Ramones learned more than I thought from the rollers. They were a great band by this point with excellent harmonies.
Derek is very well spoken and more at ease talking during interviews. Check out his interview Famous for 15 minutes I believe its called. Derek talks about the clothing and how they had so many narrow escapes from their fans . He also talks about becoming a cardiac nurse and how getting his nursing license was as big a thrill as his Roller fame . As for their clothing, I think now that we are all older we see that much of the costumes were tailored to be.....tight fitting in all the right places 🧐😁😊 Notice how Derek's shirts are stretched across his chest and biceps?! Drummer man had some serious muscles going on for sure ! Still today just as handsome as always !
The dedication song has additional Ensemble type music to it so that one you would need that background tape instead of having a whole gang of people up on stage because I think there was not sure whether it was violence or it was just more keyboard or something and dedication that was much more involved in that case I would probably use that additional tape always played live I know because I used to stand right in front of Stuart I had blond hair and my banner said Stewart on it not woody
At the time I had no interest, not my bag, but after watching a few vids here I can see that they were a good bunch of guys, some bad stuff between them, that's inevitable. Bye bye baby was a great version, I knew at the time but but I wouldn't admit it ! Shame they got so badly ripped off.
So sad to see this with Alan and Les now departed. RIP lads :'(
They are so young and so beautiful. So full of enthusiasm. Isn't Eric just gorgeous ??? So fun to find a clip with them talking !!! I was soooooooo in love with them, back in the day. RIP, Alan, Les and (my favorite !!) Ian.
Yes that's fantastic
Love this Band to the moon and back Thank you Bay City Rollers for making my teenage age years a blast you live on in my ❤ Love these guys
Me too
That's so fantastic with the Bay City Rollers
I loved Eric the most. Loved his hair and eyes. I'm so glad I hung onto their albums.
I still play my BCR albums occasionally. They were worth hanging onto and I'm glad I did. I loved Eric. I wish I could have seen them live in concert. Oh well.
I have mine also... Glad I never parted with them!!
I still have my albums, I just can't give them up, ❤
Love their Scottish 🏴accent ❤️I had a crush for Alan and Les as a teenager ❤️R. I. P Alan and Les 💔💔
They are so adorable and fresh faced in this interview, but Eric is absolutely gorgeous here.
He still makes my heart flutter when I watch all the BCR videos, they will always have a part
of my heart. A BCR fan forever!!
Rose McInnis Eric described his eyes as cornflower blue. Now I think of him whenever I see that color.
I'm saying the same thing and they do look adorable like this on the interview
Eric reminded me of Paul McCartney!!! He and Les were my favorites!!!! 🥰
I watched a documentary on them just last night. It’s unbelievable they sold over 300 million records in just 4 years. And they were almost penniless when it was all said and done. And the music business wonders why all artists have full control nowadays.
Eric was always absolutely adorable... gorgeous... handsome... Etc etc etc... Seeing these old video clips brings back some great memories for me! ❤
Eric….Wow… the most gorgeous man on the planet. Still love him to this day ❤❤❤xxxxx
Could never see it myself.. my mum used to call him the hedgehog one 😂 Les and Woody for me
I'm still a fan ,eric I still love ya !❤❤

This interview just popped up on my u-tube. I HADto watch it again. Will never get enough of Eric's angel face n baby blues. Thank u!
Found out about these lads back in 2016. Still Jammin to em! Of course they're much older than I am Lol. They were so handsome!!
RIP Les McKeown
I love Les so much my fave Roller,he was,and is so brillant, and very easy on the eyes.....Les Mckeown/Bay City Rollers forever.
My first concert, Bay City Rollers, I bought every Tiger Beat magazine with articles and pictures, had them all over my walls, and sleep with them, 😂
I loved listening to The Bay City Rollers Music when I was in High School. They were my favorite Band .Les McKeown was my favorite Bay City Roller.
I was 13 or 14. And i said to my parents after they bought me a LP i will be a Fan of Bay City Rollers forever.
OMG Eric!! 40 years later and I guess I still love them. I was part of the Rollermania movement here in America. I was one of those "hysterical" teenagers! They were tailor made for them that's the reason why, a fortune was spent on their image, hairstylist, dental work done etc

Such a wonderful comment
Wow great interview, love it !!!!!!
Love their accent...
Les is luscious.
They seem so sweet and innocent.
Felicia Romero It’s so sad we didn’t know about the horrors happening behind scenes and how they were taking advantage of and exploited.
They were actors.
Behind the scenes they were going thru hell ... Absolute hell.
Read the book.
They also got robbed by Paton. Ended up broke.
Paton went to prison, as we all know.

Thank you for sharing this gem of a great interview with the guys.
Derek has a voice! First time I have ever heard it. Wow....
Derek has a talking part in Angel Baby and does talk in some of the other vids. He has a beautiful talking voice.
ForeverInLuvRA Love Derrick’s voice. Very deep brogue.
I love, love, love their Scottish voices.
Ahhh I was so in love with Derek!
I had a crush on Derek and Eric back then I still do today, I was 15 then and so in love with them.

Aww that’s so sweet 💗
ty for uploading vid. was awesome. (I'm an Eric girl)
Woody was my fave. Met them at St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights, IL. Still love them!!❤❤❤
Derek is the only one who acts like an adult. LOL- they were such kids! No wonder I loved them when I was 12...
Alan, Derek and Eric were a bit older than Les and Woody, Led and Woody were in their mid teens when they were in the band.
Alan, Derek and Eric were in their 20's.
Gah. My friend was so HARD into them. Cut her hair punk short and wore tartan to school. i was so embarrassed, but now I see she had balls. RIP Maria.
Good for her!! Sorry to hear that she is no longer with us to enjoy it all over again...xoxo
thanks
Sorry for your loss of your dear friend, just remember that she is up there with Alan listening to him playing his favorite songs.
I wasn't alive then but I'm a fan now.
Just keep talking fellas. I think these guys put that amazing Scottish accent on the map for us girls.

Currently reading The dark history of the Bay City Rollers. Equal parts very sad and shocking. I had no idea of what was going on behind closed doors and just how awful Tam Paton was😥

R. I. P. Ian 😢
With out a dought Eric was stunning, all of them were sweet shy guys, but what happened to them was criminal, so very wrong.
Very SAD news ,that another B C R has passed😢RIP.
Woody winks a couple of times around 1:23 ! You’ll have to look closely to see it.
Woody was my favourite so cute, but loved Les as well..feel really old now, such great times in the 70s likes of which we'll never see again..
Dave Williams you need to re listen to this interview
Woody and Alan
I still Love Stuart
It sounds like Ringo Starr is interviewing them.
i'd wager the Finnish interviewer didn't understand much of what the Rollers were saying with their Scottish accents being so pronounced.
I need a translator
The dedication song has additional Ensemble type music to it so that one you would need that background tape instead of having a whole gang of people up on stage because I think there was not sure whether it was violence or it was just more keyboard or something and dedication that was much more involved in that case I would probably use that additional tape always played live I know because I used to stand right in front of Stuart I had blond hair and my banner said Stewart on it not woody
That accent but when they sing sounds like American
wondering what year this was
I feel so bad about how these guys got seriously screwed by their management and record company, for whom they made millions!
They werev also abused by their manager
@@Celticmist-qz6ve they certainly were!
