My journey across Afghanistan has just begun, starting in the capital city of Kabul. I arrived exactly 1 year after the Taliban swept to power - and I arrived to see the devastation the Afghan people are living through, with 97% of Afghans living under the poverty line!

Salam brother. Your country is beautiful. I had a question. I get people from both sides saying this. But I would like your answer as well. Are the Taliban good or bad? Like in the video the guy said there is no abuse against woman yet we no thats not true. I have heard bad stories. I have heard bad things happening against shias too. But what do you say.
Forgive me if I said anything wrong.

@@bilalmian6064 no worries. the taliban aren't all that good. women still don't have their cases properly prosecuted at all, and i've heard stories of women getting abused and the so-called government doing nothing about it but sending her back to her abuser. it's an awful situation for women. the taliban could make some actual change, but they seem to merely be interested in the power. they invent rules of their own, some of which have place in sharia law.
real muslims don't bomb shia mosques! i am sunni and acknowledge that is a horrible action and should not happen.

My father drove us through these very roads and mountains back in early seventies. Kabul was a thriving vibrant City then before the Russian invasion. We were travelling from England to Pakistan by road. I remember the large flat breads , the sheepskin coats and bags we purchased, the markets were full of Sikh people and I wondered why there were so many Sikhs in Afghanistan. Silk houses full of vibrant fabrics . I still have an authentic Afghani dress which would be right at home in an Antique shop. It was a peaceful time in that region and we felt safe. People were friendly and hospitable. I fell in love with Afghanistan and its beautiful people but now I see a shell of a country and people confused. Very sad 😥 indeed.

There's a point you missed i'm an Afghan and i live under the Taliban Government
The situation for Muslims is much better than the previous government
Taliban are doing much better work than the previous government
Why Afghanistan is in an economy Crisis? Because when the previous government Collapsed they stolen all the available sources we had in Banks and other places also they even didn't paid the salary of Government staff But Taliban paid them from their Income Taliban started from zero and Afghanistan doesn't have good bases for good income because All America did was to spread corruption so don't expect them to be without problems while America sanctioned Afghanistan and it's people
Don't listen to Media and don't support The resistance we Afghans know they are thiefs they're against our people
Afghanistan is now a better place we should support the ISLAMIC Emaret that Afghan people taste peace
Media says the situation for women is Bad yes i agree that women can't Sing or dance Like in the previous government But in an Islamic Country women are not allowed to Sing or dance in Public that's regarded as corruption from an Islamic perspective
We need to give this Government at least 4 to 6 years Time to see what they do for the Afghanistan

Islam the religion that treats women as objects of pleasure only, even awaiting 72 virgins in 'aljanah'. Why do you want to have sex so badly, even in heaven? I thought the heaven where God dwells is supposed to be a holy, righteous place. Jesus said you are in error because you don't know the truth. In heaven there is no marriage or sex. The bible says We will be like the angels of God with an immortal body that never fails, nor is weary, and doesn't need the lust of the flesh. What, you think suddenly every Afghan is suddenly gonna have this wonderful life? What you think the Taliban is gonna do with the money, exactly? Build an infrastructure for the country? Spend money on top class education [for girls too!] and schools? Build decent hospitals? Create jobs? Or will the money just be spend on their evil, Islamic, medieval, murderous interpretation of this religion - where girls and women and Gay people will still be repressed and killed for their beliefs and rights; where more guns and sophisticated weapons [and mobile phones] will be acquired; where the simple man and woman will be ground into the dust by oppressive religious dogma while the Taliban lead a life of luxury!!! If they are such a simple, altruistic group, with no agenda, where and how, exactly, did they acquire all the millions that are sitting in overseas banks, in the first place, huh? While, when they were in power originally with all this money, the county was no different from what it is now? PLEASE, people, Muslims...out there...GET REAL! Your vision is obviously completely childish and cartoonish, Arabs are not only in UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Koweit, there are Arabs heros in Iraq, Palestine, Algeria, Morocco. Obviously you are ignorant of Arab muslim history and culture this is why you say this. Study about muslim revolt against colonial empires, even in last 20-30 years there were very strong Islamic movements in Arab countries for example Egypt, Algeria, Syria, many heros fought and made Jihad. Few days ago operations in Zionist occupied Palestine, Arabs are true mujahedeen and they speak the language of Qur'an. In Islam every muslim are equal, I do not excuse the Arab regimes and traitor gulf states, but do not generalize Arabs because you do not know what's gonna happen in future.

What you said about the Taliban's calebration by forgetting their own people is really unresearchable words to us as afghans..coz instead of world's negative steps taken towards Afghanistan they are the ones who recently ordered to boiomertrically enlist all those beggars in Kabul to get helped by the government and the process will be extend to the provinces from their own low finance budget

Mr. Jay, you said in your report that 97% of the Afghan people are below the poverty line, and ” the Taliban can not see what is happening to the Afghan people right in front of their eyes! “
I think you forgot that , the Taliban has ruled the country only a year ago, while America and the and puppet government, along with Western governments, have ruled the country for more than 20 years, and that high rate of poverty was When America was there!!
Also because America and Western governments continue to block the access of Afghan funds held in Western banks to the Afghan people.
And I wish when you want to convey reality, to convey it honestly and faithfully away from counterfeiting and forgery.
As to what you quoted about women's education, I hope you review your information because what you reported is absolutely untrue.
