Love love love my Scala. Hate the Lane Assist default function which I have to always deactivate each time. It's too sensitive and causes me stress en route.
Great to hear you are a fan of the 1.5 petrol VW engine, took a risk with it in a Ibiza last year and I've no complains. Easily matches the economy if my previous 2l diesel Leon.
A pity no mild hybrid option but overall such a good car...the DSG gearbox is excellent now as well. Skoda one of the oldest car brands and has always produced decent cars.
I'm really surprised how many car models and brands you guys get over there, that are not available in the US. Some of them are understandable. As for many of the engine choices, I guess we like more power in the US, or it's because of the more expensive gas... errr petrol in Europe.

I so badly wanted the Skoda version of a hatchback to be better than this. Skoda create pretty nice looking SUVs (as far as SUVs go) so I was hoping the Scala would be something I could choose over a Golf but man, this thing is not pleasing to look at. The interior is nice but that face and weird butt is just a no. Oh and also, if Skoda Ireland are reading the comments can you guys PLEASE get your car configurator on the Irish Skoda website working please?! It's been "under maintenance" for over 6 months. That's a very silly way to turn away customers. I've to go to the Skoda UK site to check prices and convert.

We do try to pop the hood on the more interesting/high performance stuff but a lot of the time all you'll be looking at is a not so interesting plastic engine cover, but we'll certainly take your feedback on board and consider this shot for future videos.

About the boot, you can actually get an optional cover that will make it flat.
