    Dirt Bike Magazine gives you the exclusive first look at our 2002 Honda CR125 Two Stroke project with Johnny Jump and the ODI crew. This was a build that Johnny and his son Kellon did together in their garage. Below are some notes directly from Jump about the build. In the 2-Stroke History section this week we look back at an iconic CR125 Elsinore. At the bottom of this post we also have an exclusive link to our 2003 CR125 restyle project with the crew at Decal Works and Polisport Plastics. Craigslist find for $750.00. I thought all the bike needed was a new top end, pipe, bars, grips and plastics. Well I might have been a little on the optimistic side. The bike started out as a father son project bike as I wanted to get my 13 year old son into riding dirt bikes with me. After a solid year of going through the bike and reworking the motor a second time, we have a pretty fresh start to a 2020 CR125 if Honda were to release one for the public!Pro Circuit Works Pipe and Shorty 304 Silencer cleaned up very well with the help of Pro Circuits in house refurb services. Samco Radiator hoses offer improved flow and add a bit of color pop in the engine department. The Clutch on this bike is used so much to keep it up in the top of peak power a Full Hinson Billet Clutch and Billet Cover was used to keep it strong through 50 minute motos.EMIG Racing Triple Clamps coupled with ODI Oversized Bar Mounts and their New RC4 Signature CFT Podium Handlebar help to keep the front end stiff, while allowing flex through the controls in the high speed off-road chatter. ODI EMIG Pro V2 lock-On Grips keep the grips in place and offer a bit of added dampening for those long motos.TM Designworks offers chain sliders, disc rotor and caliper guards in multiple color options to match your bike. High Quality Injection molded plastics to protect and clean up well after abuse! Factory looking DUBYA Cerecoated Stock Hubs built onto Excel Takasago Rims with Stainless Spokes deliver a very strong replacement and inexpensive option for wheel rebuild!Boyesen Factory Ignition cover help bring the bronze theme to life and freshen up the cases, Boyesen Rad Valve and Carbon Reeds give the 1-2-5 a bit of snap off the bottom. Nihilo Frame Guards give nice traction on the frame while adding protection for the fresh powdercoat!ACERBIS Complete Plastics Kit and Cycra Stadium Front Numberplate give that OEM and race Look at the same time while providing clean placement for numbers and graphics. We used Split Designs to replicate the 2020 SLR Honda factory Off-Road race team graphics.

    I have a 2004 Honda Cr 125 and I’m trying to fix it up and these videos inspire me so much to build one like this!

      Jake I have one to. It runs well. Jet it 400 main 37.5 pilot clip 2nd from the top. Air screw 2 turns out. Gear it 13-54. Watch the RC EXHAUST valve cables they go slack fast.

      @@jimmadonna1436 thanks man! I’ll try that!! That really helps because I’ve been having problems with mine by it keeps fouling plugs every 20 minutes or so and the plug has a lot of carbon buildup on it and then it will not start until I get another plug and and I run 50:1 because that’s why the guy I bought it from said he rides on it. Also, the kickstart lever is pretty easy to push down with my hand with some resistance but not a ton, is that normal for this bike for you or do I need to rebuild the top end? Anyway, I’m not very mechanically smart but I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong it will for the last few months. What do you think is wrong with it?

      @@jake.debnam24 I've only fouled 1 spark plug since 2016. I change it when I do A top end rebuild. The only reason why is because I took my little buddy out on it a few times. Use a BR8ES plug or a champion N3C. Let me know how it turns out.

    • @jimmadonna1436
      @jimmadonna1436 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jake.debnam24 ok it needs a top end rebuild piston ring, ECT. Also the RC EXHAUST VALVES need to be decarbinized. Use EASY OFF oven cleaner to clean them. Your pipe probably has unburnt gas in it. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

    • @jake.debnam24
      @jake.debnam24 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimmadonna1436 Okay, thank you so much man! I’m going to look into all that and try to freshen up the bike! Can’t thank you enough-I can never find anyone with advice unless going to the shop and this is so helpful ! So decarbinizing means cleaning the RC Exhaust valves with oven cleaner, if I got that correct? Thanks Jim! I’ll definitely let you know how it goes!

    Still pissed of at FIM/AMA/ Japanese manufactures för ruin the sport back in the early 2000s. For them to stop the two stroke racing at the highest level was a terrible mistake.

    what would you prefer 2004 Crf 100f or 2002 Cr 125

    • @jake.debnam24
      @jake.debnam24 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, I had a 2005 Honda Crf 100f and I’m 6 foot, 185 pounds and that 100 was super reliable but on the other hand, there really isn’t much power unless you’re happy with that. Now I have a 2004 Honda Cr 125 and it rips. I’ve had some problems with it, mainly top end and I need to rebuild it, but depending on what level of rider and what kind of riding style you’re doing, a Cr 125 is a pretty awesome transition bike! I personally don’t have much experience and the type of riding I’m doing is some trail some track but not solely track riding, just learning how to ride a two stroke, and I need more practice but love it ! Hope that helps!
