Could you put a link in the description for the cot you used. Lived in Gaylord for 20 years and grew up with a cottage on the Tittabawasee River north of Hwy 61. Love northern Michigan. Should never have left, but it’s only a couple of hours away. Enjoyed your brief overnighter. Happy New Year!
@@AtlasAdventuresI remember the Wooden Shoe. We were on the river for over 60 years. My grandparents built the first cottage just up river from the Lost Arrow Resort which is on Bomanville Rd. They died and my dad bought a lot and built a new cottage closer to but up river from Secord Dam. We took M30 north of 61 to Finkbiner and drove back in to Pineway Dr. Parents passed and we are near Grand Rapids so it became a distance and time issue so we sold it about 2010. Lots of great memories for four generations of our family.
@@davidmalin1884 My relatives have a cabin on Secord near there. I'm sure it was sad to let it go but now with the dam situation it was probably a great decision in retrospect.
Love your videos. That looks like an area I hiked through a few weeks ago. Pigeon River State Forest? Lots of the same tree markings. Curious also on how you like that tarp. Have you used it in severe weather? Has it held up?
Thank you! No this is way south near gladwin but I have been to pigeon river area many times when I was young. I love the tarp. It’s large, handles harsh weather and lots of eyelets throughout for different configurations 👍

Looks like where we dispersed camp between Grayling and Luzerne-very peaceful. Love the whip-poor-wills, owls, coyotes and beautiful sky at night.
