Thank you so much. Glad you watched. I’m sure I was very sad to lose my first Barbie so quickly. I probably would have loved her even with her leg broken. I would still love to find a brown hair original twist N turn Barbie some day. I am very blessed to have the collection I have now. 🙏💕

Thank you so much for being so generous, in sharing your memories and dolls with us! As always this video was beautiful and inspiring. As far as my doll collection goes, it is very eclectic to say the least. I have fashion dolls, baby dolls, toddler dolls, and dolls I obtained just because they were unwanted and I felt sorry for them, lol 😊❤

i loved this video so much, Cheryl! You were a beautiful little girl, and I enjoyed hearing about your love of dolls from such an early age. I was the same way. I have three younger sisters, and we always played dolls together. The "baby" sister is 7 years younger than me, so I would give her doll shows when I was 13, 14, 15, and even 16, just so I could continue to play with dolls under the guise of entertaining little sister. I don't have many of my childhood dolls anymore, but my daughter was given lots of dolls from Germany (Gotz, Lissi,) and Sasha Morgenthaler and Sylvia Natterer dolls. She wasn't much interested in them, but I have them all now in my collection. I didn't have any Barbie dolls growing up, nor did I buy them for my daughter. I wasn't interested in them until about 2010. Now I have lots! Your antique dolls are gorgeous! My vintage composition or porcelain dolls have flaws, but I still enjoy them. I just picked up a few more vintage dolls at the most recent doll show I atteneded.

Hi Lora, it was so nice to see your sweet comment this morning. 🥰 it sounds like you had a lot of fun playing dolls with your sisters. Doing shows is such a nice idea to keep them entertained. I forgot to mention my growing hair Crissy dolls in the video. My Sister and I had lots of fun with those. She had Velvet and I had Crissy. I guess playing with Barbies as a little girl back then wasn’t as controversial as it is today. I am glad you are enjoying them as an adult. Have a wonderful day or night. 🤗

Loved hearing your doll collecting history Cheryl! I have a similar journey & had a reboot during Covid . It was like unlocking a door behind which was joy, creativity, safety and friendship. I will never apologise for adding more friends 😊. Thank you for sharing your wonderful doll world!

I also have some pictures of me with my dolls when I was a young child. I always had a love for dolls and I still do.

Thank you for sharing with me. It's wonderful when our childhood passions follow us to adulthood. Sometimes it's sports, dance, cooking and for us, it's dolls!

Oh, Cheryl, I too, was 10 when I received my last baby doll!! I still have her but she needs NEW eyes because eyelashes are missing and eyes are no longer blue. I re-wigged her and that was a disaster. She sits in my closet looking at me. I never restored eyes so I’m a bit hesitant. Her plastic skin turned quite hard over the years also. Your Barbies and the story playing with friends is so relatable. I sure wish they made those “old-fashion” Barbies again. They had the prettiest faces. I remember that netted swimsuit !!!❤🎉❤ Chris Tina

Hi Chris Tina, It is neat to hear that you can relate to my childhood collection. Maybe your baby doll wants to stay as you remember her. When you feel confident you can fix her up some day :)

Lovely video, was great to hear how your doll collecting journey started. The story of breaking your first Barbie's leg was so sad, glad you eventually got a replacement for her but at the time I can't imagine how distressed you must have been.

I know I have replied to this, but I sometimes I forget to link it to the right comment! It is somewhere down below. LOL Thanks for watching. It was hard as a little kid to break my doll's leg. The funny part is I would be just as upset if it happened now!
