The heat stopped my harvest in the middle of the year. Here we are in November in NW Washington and I have some big ones ready to go if it wasn’t for the mold due to excessive moisture.

I live in zone 5 (Central Indiana) and my strawberries have made it through 4 winters in a shallow stock tank. It's about 12 inches tall. We've never had a problem with our strawberries overwintering in the ground, raised beds, or pots.

I love my GreenStalk.❤ I’m going to grow strawberries this year in Florida, zone 10a. Thank you for your information. 🍓💚

I allowed runners in mine and planted in other pockets. Worked great. Must fertilize by weekly to get a good harvest. Planted seascape strawberries, very yummy and basil to ward off pests.

My best use of the greenstalk is flowers. I call it a flower tower!

This was refreshingly honest and unbias. Thank you for that.

I have my strawberries in the Mr Stacky towers and the birds and squirrels ate them all last year. So I have to keep them netted. I put cherry tomatoes, peppers and bush beans in some of my Greenstalks. Vertical planters are the way to go if you have only a patio like me.

Great video! I bought 2 of the regular greenstalks and can’t wait to plant in them. 😊

Thx for update. I’m feeling like Greenstalk may be better for me with rotating, seasonal crops… greens and seasonal herbs. Leaning towards a permanent strawberry bed, especially for overwintering. We are listed as zone 5b, but temps drop to minus 30 a few days each winter, (not ver 5b of them!). I feel like a raised bed might overwinter more successfully. If I had a garage to pull planter into, that would definitely be a different story. I appreciate the update. 👍

I’ll be doing my comparison using the original green stalk planter one in a June bearing variety, one in an everbearing variety. Will see what heppens

my first year with strawberries in a greenstalk. Lower volumes yes. My other thought is what to do with runners, which I usually don't want to chop off and throw away. I let them get long enough and "feed" the line into another pocket. I tried cutting and planting the crown, but that is before roots develop and they die. So i stopped that process.

We have a leaf. On purpose. But I’m short. I need a shorter tower.

I'm having a problem with low nutrients in my green stalk. Strawberry plants are turning yellow. But it's probably because I'm watering daily. How often do you fertilize your green stalks?

Thank you for a great video! Your plants look great in the green stalk. We have two and haven't good luck with any plants. I have followed the company's instructions exactly?? Not sure what the problem is.

Using city or well water do you test it for the use in your garden.

I love your show. I recently subbed.
I live in Az, and we have a lot of alkali in our soil. Do you have any tips for a new gardener?

      @thebeginnersgarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

My soil is acidic so I have the opposite problem. The way I deal with the extreme is to test the soil regularly and add lime and wood ashes. For alkaline soil though I believe the remedy is sulfur. A good soil test will give you application instructions.

I’ve tried two rounds of strawberries in one of these planters and they keep trying to die. 😢

Try not to cover the crown.
