Me. I tried playing SSE without it, but I can justify playing it over vanilla modded Skyrim atm. Eventually, probably worth switching over, but not yet for me.
Thanks a lot for the water comparisons. Helped a lot. Definitely siding with RW2 but that crashing waves effect in WATER is really nice. I can't stand the mountains either, so looking forward to the next video to help me out in picking some options.

Thanks for this video, Gopher! I agree with your choice of Realistic Water Two. I used to use WATER, but since I started using RWT, I decided I like it's look a lot better. And it seems it's the same with the Special Edition.
Glad to see I'm already running Realistic Water Two, which I do agree looks the best from what I've seen. As far as the mountains and rocks go, I'm quite happy with Real Mountains. Eager to see if you find any better ones.
I'm using Water Special Edition on my PC because I really like the coloration of it. It goes really well with Surreal Lighting. I do have Realistic Water Two on my Xbox version. Because I like to have separate games with separate mod set ups(I have more gamplay mods on my PC for one thing) that will not interfere with one another. Also, I got one of them for free and the other for half price.
A few things I've noticed while using Realistic Water 2: The LOD seams are very noticeable in the ocean, the sky reflects off the water through the walls in dungeons, and it does add waves in some places but I don't think they look ask that great.
The Mountains have been bugging me for so long! It looks fake, and reminds me of the bear mountain at California Adventures in Disneyland. It feels like there is just some shell that someone has painted over at a theme park. I can't wait for you to cover it!
In case people don't know and even you yourself, Gopher, RW2 just recently had an update which adds an extra install option which enables the water to look more fantasy like, and it looks a lot better and just like "WATER" looks. You can't see int his video but now RW2 is even a bit better :)
They (Bethesda) didn't really put much work into the water - it has existed for ages. This exact water, along with a tonne of other things, was created during the 'exciting week' that the devs got to produce anything they wanted for the game - it wasn't put in, though.
I haven't tried the others, but I'm using Realistic Water Two and am liking it so far. Having it near the bottom of my load order seems to help minimise seams. One niggle I have is that the waterfalls are quite a bright teal colour and it looks out of place to me. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it up to now.
A mod just came out called "Majestic Mountains." I haven't tested it myself, but it appears to remove the cell-shaded look in its comparison screenshots.
Looks like I will be changing back and forth from WATER to Realistic Water again, as with ye olde Skyrim. Once more in many areas I find Realistic Water a nudge better, but I miss the waves and find other areas I prefer WATER (especially for shallower watercourses like near Riverwood). I had been hoping for some time the two would combine their best features.
The authors for Water Special Edition and WATER are working on the seams based on what I've seen on their pages already. Looks like Isoku has already touched up on some of them, though.
In another note Gopher, you should pay some mroe attention to the "latest files" section everyday. I've been literally checking it everyday and tehre keep popping up new and very cool files everyday :)

"month and season" There is a mod for old skyrim requiring SKSE that tracked Month, Season, Day and Time. Orr... You can just press T (If you are on PC, don't know about how to open the menu on console) to open the wait menu and take a look at the month, season and day there.

someone please fix the snow. it looks like the texture was stretched and then blurred. someone please help us! I've tried and tried to achieve full immersion but every time i see the snow I want to shoot whoever made that texture and as a result lose all my immersion. I'm in fact, every time I see the snow, i need to shut down the game, clear my hard drive, reinstall the game and start anew. I can't take it anymore. I've played for 300 hours but never got past whiterun because of this... someone help.

My money is on Realistic Water Two - although I use it with ENB effects - which just makes it look nothing short of breathtaking (but does sort of alter the texture of the water surface from non-ENB). Still - it's only a subtle difference from many other greater water mods. I just find that RWT has top-end looks and generally has the most complete featureset. I really hope that SkyUI and SKSE will get sorted for special edition soon. I really want to transition to SE. Pretty much only for the performance benefits as most other things can be done with mods - but man... there's no saying no to getting twice the framerate in the heaviest areas. Until then though, I can't justify it. Too many essential mods would have to be dropped. If Bethesa were savvy about it they should have put a few of their guys up assistants to the relevant modteams to accelerate the process by providing inside knowledge of how the new systems worked instead of them having to spend most of their reverse-engineering to make their systems compatible. I wonder how much work SkyUI really needs to work after SKSE is sucessfully ported...
Hey Gopher, check out nobel skyrim if you haven't already. It's on the old skyrim nexus, but it has a skyrim se patch as well a smim patch and it covers mountains

Gopher for me if you keep producing the mod review videos in the format you have e.g. 'water' and summarise 5 - 6 water mods in one themee video I'd be a happy chappy. e.g. for mountains do a review of all mountain changing texture mods as I like the content delivered in that format. cheers pal.

Gopher, if you have the time can you look into the immersion breaking god rays in the Special Edition? If you trace the god rays back to their origins, no light source is behind them. The sun is in a totally different area of the sky than where the sun rays appear to be coming from. I imagine that this could be a very simple thing to fix, but I have no knowledge of just how to do that.
He got butthurt about the U.S. election, and then ostensibly about all of the resulting (and very justified) flak he was getting for taking his mods down to make a political message and has since taken them down seemingly for good.
I LOVE the idea of that Ask the Way mod! Would it be possible to tweak it so that some guards refuse to help? Especially in later main-quest game when you're, say, Imperial aligned and you're traipsing around in a Stoarmcloak town, you'd expect the Storamcloaks to tell you to piss off instead of helping their biggest enemy find what they're looking for (assuming they don't immediately attack you on sight when they recognize you).

Sienna Westlake I believe in order to load everything in Enderal correctly using the CK, the ini file for the CK needs to have the actual bsa files that Enderal uses added under the [Archive] category
Lighting! Ah.... Yeah, all the rocks kinda look... cardboard. It's even worse on the mountains. I had pulled up my NMM to see which water mod I'd already installed - it was Realistic Water Two. After watching your comparison, I'm even more pleased with my choice. It needed updated tho.
Hi Gopher. Did you end up checking out Vorpx ? I hope you did. The new spacewarp feature really shines in this app and I'm having one of the greatest gameplay experiences of my life playing New Vegas in full VR. It almost feels like the game supports it natively. Can't wait to play Skyrim this way too.

I have some seams too, with Realistic Water, I moved it to category 19. It fixed most of the seams, but there's still some

In World of Warcraft, you can ask guard where to find something in a city and they will mark it on your map, similar to Ask the Way. :)

One mod I hope gets released is 'Interesting Npc's'...always have that installed.
That direction mod would be awesome for the Imperial City in Oblivion; everywhere in Skyrim is so compact to make it not very nessacary.

I tried Pure Waters, WATER, and Realistic Water 2 in regular Skyrim- I will forever love RW2 the most.
I would agree. But I used RW2 with Pure Waters Shore lines, Pure Waters had the best shores and coastlines in my opinion.

Gopher for mountains check AOF Detailed Mountains for well mountains , it's perfect and it's an OG Skyrim mod !

There's a mod called "waves" which adds the Dragonborn waves to Skyrim. Maybe you could use that with Realistic Waters Two to get the waves.
