My mother could always tell when my father was almost home from the howl of the bias ply tires slowing down on the highway.... Howl of the tires, the click of the gear shift lever. Mom, Dad and the three kids spent a bunch of time bouncing around BC in a regular cab Ford highboy....
You do very nice work. I look forward to anything you post! That highboy is in such great shape. I would prefer to drive those old highboy's over any truck. Especially the new trucks. Keep the projects coming
That is one extremely prepped and ready-to-go, heavy-duty rig. All the effort was worth it - she looks like she's tracking true down the road. Mill sounds beefy. Enjoy the hell out of her!
Always been a fan of those 67-72 Fords(my first p/up was a 68 F100), but these high boys are a favorite. Just noticed it's a factory radio delete truck to! One day if you would, please a walk around of that factory crew cab bump side you've got, it'd be interesting to hear it's back story. Thx
You have one of the few high boys with a working park break. And I have to tell you in this day and age the state of our young men, drugs and alcohol and such. I’m very proud of you.
I noticed one day that my truck wasn't riding or handling very well, certainly not like it did when it was new, so I ordered some bushings and picked up a set of shocks, took most of Sunday morning and a bloody knuckle but the new parts were on, this was time and money well spent, it rode and handled better than when it was new, it's such a difference that you can't understand it unless you've drove it before and after
Yeah my dad had a 77 250 4×4 black and silver 400 under the hood and rare steering set up hard to find part's for i believe it was one year only. I had a 77 150 short bed Three hundred six four speed with posi . That truck could Walk anywhere.
@@marks.c4753 The 77 was Black, I was 19 and the truck was 1 year old when I bought it. I polished that thing so it just glowed. White spoke rims and some big tires. It looooooked good. My girl friend, my wife of 43 years now, and I had some epic trips in that truck. Little camper back on it. It just got to be to hard on gas so I sold it back to they guy I bought it off of. Last I heard of it was years ago. It had been turned into a wrecker on the Alcan highway. The 79 had a 10.5 foot camper on it. Just a plain brown truck with the few extra things they put on to make it a camper special, dual batteries, bigger springs, 9.50X16.5 tires. By now we had 3 kids. They still talk about the places we took them in that camper. Those trucks were the best Ford ever built in my opinion, for what that is worth. I learned to drive on a 1971 F250, 300 six and a 4 speed.
You are absolutely correct when you surmise that we enjoy the 67-72 Ford trucks, no other truck looks as badass as they do. And I think everyone can relate to doing a job to just good enough to be "safe" and street legal, but to actually commit and go through with a full run down of everything that needs to be touched up and updated to legitimately be safe and reliable is a monumental task. Can't wait to see that black 4 door ferd 250 or 350 in future videos! I've had my eye on that one for a while now, she's a beaut!
I am glad to see you finish up on it. I like the attention to real world details. Beautiful bodywork doesn't make a great driver. Boy, wish I had saved my first ride .
I can appreciate this labor of love of old metal... kind of like myself at seventy three now. I actually wish I was as good a shape as your truck shown here... I more resemble one of the older army rigs that really need some love. Your collection is going to be quite a nest egg when you reach my age. Keep them coming and I will do my part in sharing them
My dad and I finished rebuilding a '61 f100 (done to primer no final paint done yet) and we spent today driving around Palmer AK. Got to love the old chuggers. Dad recommended your channel and I gotta say I love the old Ford pickem'ups. Got some catching up to do! Love what I've seen so far
Nothing better than a Highboy Ford pickup ! I had a few of them on the farm, they're absolutely tanks. What a great shot with the truck and the mountains in the background . You might want to do a calendar with your trucks and that best scenery in the world you got.
I had one exactly like it when I was 18, kept It for years, got married and thought I needed the money so I sold it. I’m now 53 and realize I didn’t need to sell it but now you can find one that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Anyway great job and it looks like you’ve done a great job.
A really nice ride!!! Everything looks great on it !!! You did some top shelf work on that baby!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey !!! Stay safe and God bless you and your family !!!! Eddy ( Mountains of Virginia)
I just want to say excellent job fixing her up. I watched from beginning to end. She sounds great. Thank you for sharing the work you did. Has always another great project done. Can't wait until your next project will be.
Not the biggest Ford fan, but not a bad looking truck. That is about the only body style I like late 60s early to mid 70s. Love the snow tire roar. Great job
New brakes shocks and working parking brake always nice to have both of my 2500 gm stick shift trucks have everything working thanks for sharing your truck with us
Congrats! I have the same truck. Mine has a PTO winch on the front and a roof mount spotlight. I have been riding in it since I was 8 when it was driven off the showroom floor at Crater Lake Motors in Medford, Oregon in 1971. I am 60 now. It is my baby! It has over 1 million miles on it over 3 rebuilds and I went to a 390 in 2017. Everyone in my hometown of Chiloquin Oregon wants to buy her. Needless to say, she is not for sale. Good luck, Donnie
Very nicely done! Seeing her driving down the road gave a solid impression that she tracks perfectly straight and seems well planted. Very confidence inspiring, and I'd say with certainty that she'd make for a solid "going to town" rig now. What I adore about this truck especially is the honest patina of the body. She has just the right amount of wear and tear to show her age, but she still looks very honest and presentable. I'd be proud to drive that truck!
Nice ride as you had her since you were 15. I would weld a new chunk driver side rear of box behind the wheel well. little maintenance and you will have that beauty for a long long time. Good old Frod pick me ups. Never let you down.
She looks great Bud..You did a Great job on it. Like I said it reminds me of my Brothers. Color and all. Next you'll have to give her a Paint job and knock some of those Whiskey dents from previous owners over the Years. She deserves it .
Hey Brother! Great job. I love how you get something like this mechanically sound first as a priority and then the rest just adds the character to it. And as I always say - can't wait till the next one!
Ni e to hear you have had your bumpside for a while! Don't give it up, you will regret it. Have a few from back when they were New! Simple and reliable. Lol hard to get body stuff though! Thanks for the Video
Love the Hi-Boy content , I have a 74 I enjoy
Good job, that truck is nice!!!
That truck has a soothing sound on highway. Almost like crickets on a warm summer night.
My mother could always tell when my father was almost home from the howl of the bias ply tires slowing down on the highway....
Howl of the tires, the click of the gear shift lever. Mom, Dad and the three kids spent a bunch of time bouncing around BC in a regular cab Ford highboy....
That’s awesome! I’m glad to hear the videos bring back some fond memories for people. Thanks for watching.
That old truck sure looks good! ...and.... its sounds good too
Man, starting at 8:33 those glory shots in the middle of the highway, with the beautiful scenery, that was just epic!!!
awesome truck.
Daaaaaamn, love it. 🎉
BYA, hey what a beautiful job you've done on the 71! Love that super clean engine compartment! 52 years young and still road worthy, Congrats!

The bias ply tires and rattle and rumble of the transmission one sweet time machine truck envy!
Once again, beautiful! That truck is a treasure. Just love that you fixed all the important stuff solid. Cheers!
Great job, shes got alot of miles left in it.
Came out great. You gave back to something that has given all it had to you. Never get rid of it.
You did an incredible job on the 71 highboy. The patina and the greasy old bias plies look so right on this truck. What a treat👌
You do very nice work. I look forward to anything you post! That highboy is in such great shape. I would prefer to drive those old highboy's over any truck. Especially the new trucks. Keep the projects coming
Sweet ride. Good job.
Looks great, brother. Such a badass truck.
That is one extremely prepped and ready-to-go, heavy-duty rig. All the effort was worth it - she looks like she's tracking true down the road. Mill sounds beefy. Enjoy the hell out of her!
Very nice car! Really old school
That's a nice truck Buddy, I'd be proud to drive her around. Great work.
Nice work! Absolutely stunning truck my friend! I love those old Fords.
Looks great, enjoy driving it. Love the true Alaska windshield. :)
Oh to be in Alaska and park in the middle of a highway and walk around the truck with a video camera.
You done good on the old Highboy.
Nice to see the truck back on the road 😊
What an awesome truck. Nice job.
Always been a fan of those 67-72 Fords(my first p/up was a 68 F100), but these high boys are a favorite.

"And here is where the bias plies kick in." Haha, love it. If a truck is going to make you feel alive, then this is the truck.
Diehard Chevy guy here, but this truck is nothing short of AMAZING. Well done!!!
Nice work. That door opening sound is so distinctive to me.
Your highboy is looking good! She is worth all the efforts. Onward!
You have one of the few high boys with a working park break. And I have to tell you in this day and age the state of our young men, drugs and alcohol and such. I’m very proud of you.
Trucks as beautiful as the landscape man. Love it👍🏻

Nothing like driving a older ford truck, nice work on her …
I had a 77 F250 4X4 and a 79 F250 extended cab camper special. Sure wish I had either one back.
Love this channel and all the old trucks.

Leave it just like that, I think it would look really cool with that paint buffed out. Cool AF
I had a 75 f250 nicely equipped. Wish i still had it! You have a really nice truck. Id love to find one rust free n build another.
I love that truck!! BTW your tag starts with KFC. That is the abbreviation for "Kentucky Fried Chicken"
How cool is that! Regards from Ody Slim
You and about 1,000 other people have pointed that out haha.
You made a nice ride out of it man 👍 👍 👍 👍
Reminds me of my 73 I had in high school wish I would have kept that truck
Love the fact you still have the dream to get your first project finished. Keep it up
I am glad to see you finish up on it. I like the attention to real world details. Beautiful bodywork doesn't make a great driver. Boy, wish I had saved my first ride

I enjoy seeing this truck get spoiled.
Such a beautiful truck!!
Picture perfect for the Alaskan backdrop.
The best looking Ford truck ever.
Wow great looking truck.

Man those tires howl like crazy!
Wow! Nice ! Keep on Posting 😊🙏🏽
just love that bias ply hum!
Good Job
Nothing like the reasuring "snick, snick" of shifting a T18 4 speed in an old Ford!.
labor of love, with a few of your friends..
What kind of tires are you using?
Nice work. It’s almost as good as new! Just needs a new windshield. Lol.
Nice old truck
great work on the Fee mate just to protect the under side of it now with some raptor or alike
I really enjoy this old iron. I can't wait to see her finished. Nice work so far.
looks great ..your need a windshield next
Hey Brother! Great job. I love how you get something like this mechanically sound first as a priority and then the rest just adds the character to it. And as I always say - can't wait till the next one!

You got it together as best you could as a kid and kudos on your evolution with time.
