So is Star One, though it only has the 2 studio albums and one live CD/DVD. Star One Live on Earth was my entry point for Arjen's work, and I bought it at release (importing a Region 2 DVD i had to play on my PC) off being a huge Symphony X fan. I wound up researching After Forever (Joost and Floor) and Threshold (Damian Wilson) after watching it.
Ayreon is the project of Dutch composer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He does scifi concept albums and has had over 80 different singers on his 9 (double)albums. He has been doing this since mid 90's. Most of the stories of the albums combined are part of the bigger story called The Ayreon Universe. Besides Ayreon he has some other projects: StarOne, Stream of Passion, Gentle Storm, Ambeon, Guilt Machine and some solo stuff.
What's amazing to me is how good this sounds with pieces and part being recorded all over the world in different studios and probably a couple of offices or home studios... he did an awesome job of tying it all together, getting the mix levels perfect, and making it sound like one long seamless piece that was recorded in his studio.
The "0" and "1" part steals the show, even with all of those amazing vocalists/musicians around. It's just pure magic. BTW the lyrics actually mean "Trust TH-1" or something like that, in binary code, because the character is a computer.
Love the way Arjen throws in the Floor hammer in some of his stuff. Then sometimes a bit of Simone Simon's or even Marko Hietala, along with so many great artists. He does really amazing compositions and works. Just love his works
I think (no fault of Floors, it is the part she was given and she performs it perfectly), the Mills bomb is the real heavy weapon in here - none of those notes are synthesised, he really can sing from a low baritone to a high soprano, and is entirely self-taught. Those binary lyrics, by the way, are extended ASCII code which translates to "trustTH1" TH1 is his character, a robotic android responsible for the care of the human characters, navigational corrections, and their awakening on arrival at their destination (earth).
@@phillee2814 I have become a huge fan of Arjen's work over the last couple of years. What I like about the Floor part is the fact that it is quite a small part, and yet she throws her self into it. To me that is showing the respect she has towards Arjen Agree The Mills bomb is pretty special. Everyone who appears in it are pretty special. It's showing how they appreciate Arjen Cheers
I'm sure you have, but if you haven't you need to listen to Everybody dies, where Floor & Michael Mills are singing live..and there in that performance, you'll see and entrance :)
Such a headbanger this one.. 🎸🥁🥁🥁🎧🎧 get it on repeat... Musicians are amazing. .oh and the guest's ..well what can you say...Epic yea that will do to start . ♥️🖤♥️🖤♥️..great reaction.. 👍..keep safe and healthy 🤘🤘🤘
Hey guys...Great reaction as always. Aeyreon is great and always showcases the highest level talent. I don't know if you have seen it but there is a really nice fun duet between Floor and Tarja at one of Tarjas shows back in 2013 I think. They sing the song 'Over the Hills and Far Away' written by the great Gary Moore. This video shows their friendship and the love and admiration they have for one another proving their is no competition between them whatsoever. So the fanboys who like to continually cause animosity among the fans by comparing them can stick it in their pipes and smoke it... Lol. Even though I personally prefer Floors versatility I think they are both great!
I love the Wolf Hunterz, you're all great, I've listened to your music because of your reactions and that's fantastic, even going on my Spoitify playlists. As for Aryeon, yeah a good step from here is Everybody Dies from the Ayreon Universe live show, where Michael Mills does another stunning performance using his incredible range, and the song is wonderful. Definitely check out Toehider too, he's astonishing.
not sure if you know, the second vocalist, Tommy Karevik, is the lead singer of Kamelot and i know you guys did a reaction to Sacrimony by them. also, Simone Simons is the lead singer of Epica, who i know you have reacted to as well. always a joy watchinf your reactions! if i could make a request, A Phantasmic Parade by Epica is a fantastic song and i cant find any reactions for it. i would love to see one :)
Arjen Lucassen is the most cool dude i know. Btw if you buy his record at his own website he signs his records. Well lets say i dont see many artist do that.

Hi Guys I've watched this about 6 times it's still good. Joost is helping Floor on her new music. They were in After Forever together and did a couple of things in Revamp.
I am a huge fan of toehider because of ayreon. mike mills ( the 0101 guy lol) is a fantastic multi musician that has an insane vocal range! please check this man out hes seriously underrated
Sequences in the story line are Everybody Dies and Star of Sirrah. Goodie: These have live versions where you can see Michael Mills again, doing the android TH-1 and many others.
If you appreciate great musicianship and ultra creativity it is hard not to love this song. Arjen writes his music with a musical theater flair and is able to attract incredible vocalist and instrumentalists to work with for his recording projects. Fun reaction. Next time my friends. Peace.
Arjen really cast powerhouse vocalists (of the bands you reacted to before): James LaBrie (Dream Theater) as the Historian Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) as the Opposition Leader Simone Simons (Epica) as the Counselor Tobias Sammet (Avantasia) as the Captain Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian) as the Astronomer Floor Jansen (Nightwish) as the Biologist These are all I far as I can remember...:)
Nice reaction again guys. I enjoy your general attitude of 'let's just enjoy ourselves with yet another fine piece of music and share that with our viewers'. That just comes across very well every time I've enjoyed your vids. And even though this is my first reaction to your reactions, rest assured I've seen many. That said, don't hesitate to enjoy more Arjan/Ayreon stuff. You already covered Gentle Storm with our favourite most adorable metal Tinkerbell, but there's so much more in the Ayreon rabbit hole you can dig into. Apart from the many other (likely somewhat Floorgasmic) suggestions here, consider: Isis and Osiris, Comatose and Magnetism. :^) Ayreon's just released new Transitus album may also be worth reacting to ofc.
Arjen's project Ayreon is fantastic. I have loved his various projects for a long time now. You can't go wrong with any Ayreon, Star One, Ambeon or The Gentle Storm (Arjen and Anneke!). Try the Ayreon song "Day Three: Pain" that features James LaBrie and Devin Townsend among others, of course.

The reactions to Michael Mills are my favorite part of these videos!
Aryeon isn't a band .. Arjen creates the music then rounds up musicians, singers etc. and .. makes magic
Amazing
Staaaaarblaaaaaade!!! 🤘
This song really has a bit of everything. Ayreon is another rabbit hole.
...maybe "wormhole" is more suitable?

Ouch Factor Ten!
Loving the reactions guys . We love you too. More please xxxxxx
So much talent in just one song/video 🤘 We need more!
God I love Hansi's voice. Always sounds so epic
No matter how many awesome vocalists I hear, I keep coming back to Hansi Kürsch as my favorite.
exactly like he said, like singing epically on a mountaintop
new Ayreon album Transitus is already out ft Dee Snyder, Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman aso aso.
So far they released 2 videos, both with Simone
Hey, there much more than 2 videos, at least 5 o5 6 in case you missed them. Talk of the town is amazing.

Such talent an absolute pleasure to listen to. Awesome.
You two are the best , great reaction and appreciation of talent
You definitely need to check out Mike Mills in his own band Toehider.
Try "How Do Ghosts Work?" and "Whatever Makes You Feel Superior" 🤘🇦🇺
Definitely! Toehider is amazing. Period. Hugs!

We must prepare for the changes
We must prepare for the day that the world breaks down
Don't expect we will survive this
There will be no way back the day that the world breaks down
Don't assume it's all a nightmare
Won't stand a chance the day that the world breaks down
I can't believe this is happening
I can't believe we are headed for a fall
We must prepare for the blackening
We must prepare for the day that the world breaks down
I can feel it in my heart
I can see it in the stars
Behold: It's all been foretold
The future unfolds the day that the world breaks down
I always knew this would happen
Not many believed in my cause
I'm sure they will all turn to me now
I'm sure I'm the only one who can save us
(Star fate)
From this fate
I always knew they would need me
Not many showed faith in my plans
I'm sure they will ascend to me now
I'm sure that I'm the only one who can save us
(Star fate) From this fate
Yes, I believe you are the answer
Yes, I agree you are the key
Your future lies in the heavens
Our future lies beyond (the stars)

I mean, it should've been obvious!
Straight out of my mind to rely on a cold machine
The signs were strong
I know I was wrong
I know they will hate me now
But I will come clean and destroy this cold machine
This is not over, not as long as we're alive
If we join our forces we will make it
This is not over
As a race we must survive
And in the end we will
Cross this bridge... together
We're losing this fight
And yes, we got ourselves to blame
I guess it seems right kn the mind of the cold machine
I'll fix every flaw, I'll break every law
I'll tear up the rulebook if that's what it takes
You will see
I will crush this cold machine
This is not over
I am sure we will find a way out of this desperate situation
This is not over even if it all seems hopeless
For in the end we'll cross this bridge... together
I can feel it in the air- the signs are everywhere
Communications' ground to a halt
Traffic has stopped, defenceless and frail
Planes crashing down
We're getting closer to the day the world breaks down
