14x8 on medium and high tuning was perfect. 👌
Here are the timestamps so you can more easily compare the sounds:
6,5 x 13'' - low: 0:01 // medium: 1:17 // high: 2:34
5 x 14'' - low: 0:16 // medium: 1:33 // high: 2:49
6,5 x 14'' - low: 0:31 // medium: 1:48 // high: 3:05
8 x 14'' - low: 0:47 // medium: 2:03 // high: 3:20
5,5 x 15'' - low: 1:02 // medium: 2:18 // high: 3:35
Excellent video! It's the definition of keeping variables to a minimum.
Right? They did it perfect. The one that pisses me off most is when you are listening to a cymbal demo and you really want to hear just the cymbal but the deno person wants to focus on their playing instead. Kills me.
I liked the 6.5x13 all tunings
Sounds like SOAD. imo
Agreed
Which Size Is Right For Me? ALL of them! haha. killer tones!
Outstanding video!
The 13” and 14x8 are my usual go to
Same
Thanks ❤
6.5x14" it is the perfect size.😊
Perfect demo.
6.5x14 all day long.

6.5 x14 and 8 x 14 for my ears they're very useable sounds
THANKS
I prefer high tone.
Such an unorthodox size for snare drums, but that 15 is really speaking to me..
It's really an early turn of the century size drum. Pretty cool...even Ludwig make a Supralite in 15x5 now...
I'm a tuning noob. Can someone explain the high setting? Like, what frequency to tune the batter and resonate heads. I'm liking the 14x8
Probably just cranked as high as it can go
Try 400 Hz
5 by 14!!
for recording more best 6.5"-8" depth..with the right intonation..5 "depth is good for live jazz funky..in any case, tuning a 6.5-8 shell high does not make sense because its sound qualities are not exploited.. those of power and body
Good test but the guy hits too soft.
This is true for 95% of snare demo vids.
Horrible test. You can't tell a snare sound with other sounds going on.
Do your ears work?
I was able to hear the body, detailed attack, and different rings of each different size snare.
