I did it!! I saved a few hundred dollars. Thanks so much. I watched the full video first, and then went back and watched for the parts I was confused about. For anyone worried about the registered agent, I opened a business mail box at the local post office and they provided me with the street address and the box number was provided with the number sign as opposed to the P.O. Box. Hope this helps someone. God bless!!
P.O Box is a great way to go, just keep in mind you will get a lot of spam mail so don't mind them, good luck!

I just heard back. It went through in 48 hours! Just registered under the IRS and got my EIN number. My LLC is now active

Typically it takes a few weeks, not sure if things have changed due to the pandemic. You could always call sunbiz if it takes longer than expected.

I personally never done that but I have heard that a virtual business address could be used. At the very least the principle and mailing.
Hi, I’ve registered my business, I got it approved. I acquired my EIN now I need a business ( occupational) tax receipt from my tax collector. If I’m not yet starting my business until next month am I required to obtain it right away? Or can I wait until I’m ready to start? Thanks!

Did your payment go through all the way? you typically would get e-mail. Worst case scenario, call sunbiz to see what issues are occurring with your application, I never had that issue.

Do you need to have the hired agent already figured out while filling out the LLC file I just realized maybe I should hire due to the address issue I don't want to put my home address?
Typically its best practice to have the agent be an independent third party, however, many startups don't go that far and just use one of the founders as the agents. I have heard people use P.O boxes for the address, you may want to look into that.

Nope registered agent is not same as your shop you have to hire one to act as a registered agent on your behalf

Yes it means its registered, you will also need an EIN, if you have partners people typically contact a lawyer and create an operating agreement. Just remember when creating the document you will need to specify how you want to be named. Even though it is an LLC you can be simply called: Tom Lawn Mowing (LLC is the entity) or you can specify in your public name that you are an LLC/ Limited Liability Compan, for example, Tom Lawn Mowing LLC. All a matter of preference.

@@infinitekharisma It is usually a 3rd party that you put as a registered agent. That is standard practice, however, people do put themselves as their own registered agent in the beginning of the start-up to save cost.

You can just simply use AMBR if you're the sole member

Thats a decision that you both will have to make. An attorney would typically be used when creating documents that go over roles, percentage ownerships, buyout clause etc. If you feel like that is necessary, then you can do it.

Industry standard is using a separate company. You can use yourself to get yourself started.

but the same name was already taken by INC. that is no longer active.

If it isn't active I don't see why you couldn't. Double-check what industry they are in. If they have a trademark you may run into issues if it's competing.

If you want to save on cost, put yourself and perform the task that an RA would typically do.
