The smell of gear oil reminds me of some of the plumbing jobs I worked on! Lol!

Cool! I'm into engine swaps as well. I have a V8 Pinto and working on a Big Block Olds Bobcat.

Very cool! What engine are you putting in the bobcat.

@@DavidGyke-co2ut Motor is a 1967 425 Oldsmobile. I will make a video on it in the next few days, it was quite involved to swap.

@@claytonstoolbox I remember doing some work on a 460/C6 in a green pinto. The MG has taken 53 days from start to finish on getting the 5.3/4L60e bolted in place. Every part has to be located, altered or fabricated to fit. I figure that a pinto or bobcat would be an interesting build.

Get a magnet and drop it into the old oil. It will show any metal wear ( especially from the wheel bearings)

The metal in the dark green rear end lube will show the sprinkles on a cupcake if it is hit with a strong light.

One step and then another step. Before long it is done.

I started saving the videos that don't apply directly to the current work. Each component will be shown separate in the build. After the work to modify the body to accept the 4L60e and the low mounted 5.3 LS. The camera man did not show and I had to chose to move the camera out of the rain. Thus I lost the drop in video. Next up will be the work on the one off headers. There will be other work being done, but now those videos will be held until I am working on that component. I have an up coming video requested by an automotive engineer and several other builders to see how I over came the tight fit. Front and rear facing views from under Brit. I am going to be gathering everything needed for under the rear of the car. I have a long list to source and some parts that will have to be made on site.

The rear end is a 4:10 right out of an s-10. Axle width is 5 inches wider than the stock axle. This allows the 15x7 gm rally wheels not to contact the inner fender well thus protecting the strength of the uni-body. The back set is the same between the MG rim and the GM rally rim both measure 5 inches. The GM 15x7 offset is two inches wider to the outside. Brit is going to need wheel flairs all around. Ford used a live axle set up as an option for 6 months on early production SVO mustangs. This set up was insane to launch a mustang straight and hard. I drove one in a street race for Big Dave a mustang builder. The mustang hooked up hard and launched straight. Now I have to fabricate all of the pieces and brackets to hang this rear axle the same exact way. The brake conversion will be later down the road. After the header exhaust tubes its time to gut and start hanging steel under Brits rear section.
