I took a reservation trip last week and the rider messaged they'd 20mins late. So I already had an hour put into the trip before making a dime. I waited it out because it was headed in the direction I needed to go and thought the rider might have enough sense to tip for my extra time. Nope. No tip! I should have stuck to my gut and canceled once the timer ran out. Also, Uber did not compensate me for my extra wait time. With almost 19k trips between Uber and Lyft you'd think I'd know better.
Reservations used to pay like a minimum 29$ no matter the distance and if you cancel you get that but I'm sure its stopped a while ago. I left driving full time this year
I'm almost done with the rideshare business and don't know many happy drivers right now. They are really messing up the industry, total disrespect for the drivers and riders and I don't believe this recipe can work for ever, the fares are just too low in London most of the time, can't speak for elsewhere, reservations are even worse sometimes expecting you to wait unpaid upto an hour for peanuts

Uber customer service (lack of) is the absolute worse customer service that I have ever tried to deal with....on multiple occasions. THEY ABSOLUTELY SUCK.
Uber customer Service crushes your spirit 😂 Last time I spoke to customer service I had a flat tire (food delivery) they automatically cancelled my trip! And I was in front of the customers house. Luckily they restored the trip because the customer was upset that the delivery might be delayed or cancelled so when I told the customer what happened he was really understanding and tipped me really well. I had another delivery to that customer so I was able to give him a thank you gift. But man I often think that the these companies want us to not have confidence in customer service so we will never call under any circumstance!😮💨
Just did a trip down here in Miami from fort lauderdale international airport, Uber. Sent me the long way to his destination he told Me i was taking a long way He paid extra for tolls.He told me paid $70 even Showed me on his phone 35miles for the ride.Uber gave me $26.78 Unacceptable for uber

As a customer, this is likely why I stopped using Uber reservations. I need to get to the airport on time reliably. So, I make a reservation. Then, at 3:30 a.m. the driver cancels. Now I'm sweating and wondering if I will even get a driver. I can see now why a driver might cancel. I'm out.

I guess they don't treat Boston drivers the same way. We get the upfront price for reservations. I typically don't take them knowing that U/L is charging the rider 2x to 3x what i am getting paid

You get nowhere with these third world country people. I'm a driver from Chicago and had many issues at hand to fix only to hit a dead end with these guys. Your are telling nothing new here. Very weird! Forget real time; I have never been able to get ahold of customer service in less than half an hour?. All of these gigs are useless here but particularly Uber. Lyft actually pays a little more per mile in Los Angeles and has a few crappy incentives. All incentives, even surges have disappeared from Uber in this market.
I once had a rider made a stain in the back seat. And I reported it to Lyft to get a cleaning fee. After sending 3 photos of the mess and having to explain to Lyft what type of mess it is their support team told me to smell the mess. I am not smelling anything. Just give me a cleaning fee. And it took 6 hours going back and forth with support because they kept also ignoring me. And I have trips on Lyft where the GPS added multiple miles then what was offered upfront and Lyft refuses to pay me anything extra due to their BS Upfront earnings. Uber at least has added a $1 or $2 when their are delays. Lyft I get nothing. College Football starts soon an I am scared that Lyft will not pay me extra when a ride takes a hour instead of 20 mins due to picking someone up at the game.
Seems like a typical customer service response. I get nonsensical responses like this all the time. It is my theory that they make the customer service this poor on purpose so drivers will just give up when Uber owes them money from a mistake.
UBER as a company could not care any less about the drivers. They see drivers as a necessary evil. Drivers will be cut out of the equation the second Uber feels that autonomous cars have been adopted widely enough by the riding public. One I had reserved...to pick up was 25 miles away to go pick up, the price I would get was $29 for the ride which was about 20miles.. I canceled.. had to... this left the riders hanging with no ride...its a very tough situation. I didnt realize the pick up distance before accepting.. People in the Philippines or India are answering the phones. I cant understand them. Looking to screw drivers any way possible. Philly uber takes 50-60% and even though my vehicle qualifies for Premiere and comfort I rarely get those, even if I'm in surge area. Also lots of drivers in rentals willing to take ANYTHING that comes up.
